Five years ago, my wife and I put Oregon in the rearview mirror and moved to Casa Grande. Oregon was quickly become "Californicated," and it was time to go over the wall. I made several "exploratory" trips to investigate the area and settled on Casa Grande. I was recently retired, and my wife was able to transfer with "Big Orange" home improvement store. We purchased a home here, sight unseen...but we had a great realtor looking out for us. Our mortgage was literally half what we had been paying for rent in Oregon. We love it here, the summer heat is something one adjusts to. Casa Grande is still a bit of an Island, and still lacking some of the services found in the Valley, but that's slowly changing as CG grows. Medical care here definitely isn't on par with the Valley

I am a Michigan native (though I moved here from Florida in 2018). There’s a lot of us here in Queen Creek/San Tan Valley. I can easily get a Euchre game going during a Lions game

If you pick properly you never have to drive more than 10 minutes from your home for anything you need. Ive owned a home in Phoenix for 14 years, only retired 3 years ago. 3 hr direct flights 5 or 6x a day made it a no brainer.

We thought about moving to FL (we now live in the PHX area), but after viewing the surging costs of homeowner's insurance, taxes, and home prices for outdated junk homes, we decided to stay put.

Past few winters Dec-March has been colder than the temps you state as norm. It has not hit 80 at all in those months. We have had a few days here and there in 70s but nights still much much colder. 60-80 is just not honest for winter in Scottsdale

Our cold and rainy weather right now is not the norm. But you are right, it has not been warm for the past week.

Moved from Phoenix to Florida, moving back..Florida is much more expensive..Az is mostly friendly Midwesters. Florida is more easterners not so welcoming.

iits true florida beats # of snowbird or even percentage of snowbirds vs arizona. but I would say phoenix is one of the TOP snowbirds destination in america.

@@joejohnson1213 Miami is completely and utterly polluted with undesirable people of all shapes, sizes, and textures. Phoenix, or more accurately Scottsdale is not quite as bad. We shove all those people off to the southeast and western sides of the city.
