The Audi etron 55, an electric suv! It’s Audi’s first-ever all-mass produced, all-electric car! This electric SUV will be going up against the likes of the Jaguar I-Pace, Mercedes EQC and the ever-popular Tesla Model X! I just picked up a 2021 E Tron Prestige a few days ago. It is by far the best overall driving vehicle I have ever owned including other cars from Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Porsche. Not the fastest or best handling but when you consider the whole package it's amazing. Now Audi and Electrify America just need to get their act together with their apps!!!!

Thanks for the comment Jacob 🤗 wow prestige Awsome does that have the massaging front seats. I wanted to try those out. I agree not the fastest but i was pretty impressed with 0-60 we got and it doesn’t need to be that quick. I’m curious to try the Audi Q4 etron next! Thank you for chatting 🤗

As soon as I can afford one, I am going to replace my 2016 A3 with an E-tron 55 Quattro. I cannot wait to go fully electric. But no Tesla for me.

@@CarChatTV I like the silver but my mom already has a 2019 Q5 in that colour. I was thinking one of the blues (Galaxy Blue or Navarra Blue), or perhaps a darker grey. But whatever is available, I'll buy it.

I bought one yesterday. You just fall in love with the feel, drive and design of this car, still after 4-5 years of its release. Charging is stable. I will gladly take an extra stop for 20 min on longer journeys just to have this car. You are going to spend a lot of hours in a car. Its about making that time enjoyable. It really is zen on wheels

I've test driven a few etrons and have been very impressed, probably the nicest car I've ever driven, the comfort is unbelievable, the drive is smooth . I'll definitely be choosing one as my next car,

Had one for the last day for work. What machine if I had the cash defiantly be on my drive way a brilliant all round weapon. Last time I felt the power bunch me in the back was driving a ferrari around silverstone's race track. Brilliant piece of engineering

I would never choose any other electric car over this car. It is just amazing and 100% Audi worthy car. So I did not choose another car, yes I did 😍. Etron on the way.

Me enjoying the 55 for 4 months now can only express the comfortable ride and fast charging beside the other benefits we get from this car. Even towing capacity is great and we won‘t ever gonna miss anything combustion versions might offer

Awesome review! I wanted an E tron but due to the shortage in vehicles, there were none on the lot. And I didn't feel comfortable ordering one to be delivered having never test drove a fully electric vehicle... so 21 Q7 it is 😊

Renting a e55 Quattro Black edition for a month, just arrived today btw. So far love it. I am racking my brain on what I’m going to do with myself while waiting for a fast charger somewhere. Got it plugged in at home for tonight but from 40% to full charged showed something like 58hrs! Madness. Lovely car though. Surprised 0-60 is over 5secs though, felt a lot quicker.

Thanks for the comment🤗 it’s such a great car. I totally agree with you about the charging situation. I find it hard to find fast charging and I hate waiting around. It would be great to know what you get range wise on it. I charged this one up full and it got 189 miles full charge. But I had it cold February in UK! Always keen to hear what others get on a full charge. Also I’ve seen some black out the grille at the front which makes it look a lot better too. Thanks for chatting 👍🏽

Love the e-tron. A really informative and well researched piece! Still undecided on the lack of freedom the need to charge brings, but love the look and the concept. Definitely would be better in black though! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

@@thechosenoneneo nope. Even the 50 was above my company budget. In the end I ordered a Mercedes EQC. This car has the same horsepower and range as the 55 and offers much more value for money. Only downside is the smaller boot. But I am happy and waiting for the Mercedes now.

Acceleration is blisteringly fast and cornering stability excellent. Steering is not so precise though. Interior is luxurious with lots of amenities, but range is not great and suffers a lot in cold weather. Great overall SUV.

Great review, on point. However, the driver assist has been there with Mercedes’ and Acura for a long long time but Audi sells it as a package! It’s default in Acura

What would i choose over the e-tron 55? I have made my choice....the e-tron 55 Sportback :) hope it will be delivered in a few month. And of course in black :) as a "long range" model with basic 19" wheels, WLTP is 443km, i will see how far it will drive in reality. Nice review.

@@CarChatTV Thanks. I will do that, but you will have to wait :) the deliveryweek is KW37, hope the car comes earlier :) . In the moment i drive a Volvo S90 D4. Also a very big and very comfortable car. First thing i know, i will miss the Bowers&Wilkens :) rest, i will see.

@@CarChatTV Yes, B&O was one of the must haves, like good light, Matrix but not the dancing cinema light :) and security packages: Tour, City, Presafe rear, reverse cam, not the 360 degree cam, in my S90 I do not realy use it, i saved this money. No leather, no electric seats but lumbar support and heated. Acoustice windows and some parts like white amient light I have to order to get the B&O or heated side mirrors and steering wheel. Hm, in this way it does not look like a naked car :)

@@CarChatTV Hey, now I drove the 55 Sportback over 10.000km, my minimum consumption over 400km with very calm driving was 16,7kWh/100km. Typical in summer with 100% charge my range is between 380 an 440km near WLTP. Now when the temperature is lower the consumtion is higher and the range is between 350 and 380km. On the other side when I drove long distance on the german autobahn i never get 30kwh/100km or higer, even if i drive 150 to 170km/h when unlimited and less traffic. But more I like the comfort and a speed around 120 to 130km/h and a consumption between 21,5 and 24kwh/100km average. My long term consumption is 22,8 kWh/100km over 12.000km

I'm gonna keep an eye out on the used market in like 2 years time, by which time hopefully the first lot of 55 will be within my price range (mid 20k).

@@CarChatTV Yep definitely, more so at the expense of the dealers. I noticed beginning of this year they started offloading their ex demo cars. I think they changed them because Audi changed the options list. So the ex demo cars either come in Galaxy blue, grey or black. They come with the cream ventilated seats, B&O sound system, 4 zone climate, surround camera system as well as the tour pack. Keep the videos coming 👍

@@horatiupogoreanu6422 One thing with the 55 is that it has a big top buffer, so even if the user is charging it to 100%, it's not actually 100%. That's why it's able to charge 50kw (see Bjorn's videos) all the way up to 100%. Add to that the fact in the mmi system it encourages you to only charge to 80%, I think it's highly likely that even if you buy a 5-6 year old one, as long as it hasn't been abused on fast chargers all its life, it will have pretty much the same range as it did when it was fresh out of the showroom.

Great review! But I’ve used some time lately comparing the etron with the Merc EQC, and I must say the EQC is just ahead in almost all aspects. If you don’t need that massive space, I think the Mercedes looks better, drives better, have better regen capabilities, better sound system (Burmester)… So there will be an EQC for me 😊

It always less costly to run a fuel efficient gas car and some of them make electric cars obsolete. You have to consider depreciation too on expensive electric cars. One relative paid 160k plus tax for one a year ago and that one is likely down by 30k plus the 20k taxes lost and I have been told they save a lof on gas and maintenance.

Note tesla overstates the range and the horsepower. Combined horsepower of 2 motors is far less than the total power of each motor as there appears to be a big power loss when both operate together after the transmission and maybe battery safety limits. Some of them get 70%of the total advertised.

But with other electric cars coming out now with 300+ range could this be left alone. We really enjoyed it and it’s a great car. 100 percent needs more range though. What car do you have? I have an eTron 55 Sportback, Daytona Grey with the black optics pack, 18,000 miles in 8 months, 100% charge during summer gives me around 230 miles, never had range anxiety, never had an issue with charging that hasn't been overcome at the same charging point (apart from Ecotricity), best car I have ever owned. I can do 500+ miles in a day and never had concerns over range, I top up before I leave home and use public chargers, saves me a fortune on my 30,000 miles a year
