Very nice - determination makes a character inspirational. A vital ingredient when writing a good story. 👍

I love training arcs that span arcoss months to years because it feels like they earned the power up even if it was time skipped in One episode. Tanjiro doesn't just pick up a sword and learn the best technique in 3 days while calling it hard work (Ahem Naruto rasengan and Ichigo's Bankai) He actually worked for a year to just reach the level of a Average Demon slayer. Other examples would be Deku's 9 month training getting him ripped but not like Jojo ripped but what realistically is possible in 9 months. Or any DBZ training arc since they have years of time skip. SS3 felt justified because its been 7 years since we last saw Goku, and he is the last person to spend those 7 years without getting stronger. You know off the bat he is much stronger because he is Goku. 10/10 for Demon slayer's first training arc.

At the beginning of this episode, the way his teacher described demons sounds a lot more like vampires which I suppose is a type of demon. So obviously Nezuko went to sleep since she hasn't been feeding and has now become weak. I don't believe vampires die from starvation since they are effectively immortal, but in some lore they do become like desiccated corpses from not eating until blood is reintroduced to initiate their regeneration. Not saying its applicable here, just speculating on my part.

Tanjiro starts at 13 years old, after 2 years training he's now 15. Nezuko is 1 year younger than Tanjiro.

I believe you overestimated Tanjiro Kamado's age as being 16 at the start. I think he was younger.

I've always wanted to watch this one. I'm now enjoying through your review...but at some point I will have to start my own watch. Since you are an anime fan, I wonder if you have ever watched Rurouni Kenshin. It's an old one, my daughter and I watched it when she was in high school in the early 2000s. If you haven't watched it I HIGHLY recommend it. Full of great characters and classic anime animation style. It's still my favorite. I look forward to the next installment of Demon Slayer Season 1. Peace.
