Thank you James for generously sharing your knowledge with us. I watched a lot of pickleball videos and never thought I could learn just as much from podcasts until I stumbled upon yours. I will be following your KZfaq, newsletter and podcasts. You are a gifted teacher! It was great to see you play in Saramento too. Please consider coming back to Northern California

Thanks James really appreciate you taking the time to provide such informative content. If you had a ball handy it might help to provide a low tech visualization especially when you describe where you ar hitting the ball or to demonstrate the rotation you get. Regardless thank you

Great explanation of the two handed backhand topspin dink. That shot really stood out during your game after the clinic last night.

Great vid. I’m around 4.0 and have been 1-handed top spin dinking and speeding up middle like you said. At what point do I need to switch to 2-handed dink? Right now I’m thinking to add 2-handed counter first

How do you improve your aim on speedups and in the middle of hands battles? Recently played Ross Whittaker and he was clearly next level at aiming speedups and everything in hands battles

Hey james, what grip do you use when you play? and does it ever change between driving and dinking at the kitchen?

So do you hold your paddle horizontally against the ball or vertically when doing this shot?

Thanks James, great info and I'm working on my 2 handed back hand dinks. I have a question about cross court forehand dinks. I don't hear people talking about this shot, but personally it just feels awkward. I must be doing something fundamentally wrong. Maybe this becomes a future episode? I'm a right handed player. I try to take forehands out of the air if possible and hit back to middle if I get pulled too far out of position. When pros play the right side it looks like the ball is to the right of their body and they just easily move the ball cross court with the forehand. Me, I just dump the ball into the net or pop it up in the middle. Any advice appreciated for improving and staying agressive with this type of dink!

How would you recommend you position your hands and the paddle when you're prepping for the two handed backhand dink, especially right before you strike the ball?

My topspin dinks, backhand and forehand were floating high, not coming down like they had been. After a month of this, I got a new paddle, same as my old paddle. Problem solved.

Why do you need two hands you are 6 3 and 180 and cannot hold a pickleball paddle I do not believe this maybe you should use weights You cannot be that weak!!!

Bc it's very hard to get topspin on a backhand dink with one hand. With the second hand on the paddle the angle is where it needs to be. You need to drop the head of the paddle and swipe the ball on the side with some pace.

BS. One handed is fine. Continental grip its easy to hit slice or topspin. 2 handed dinks require you to bend way more, not a good use of your energy. But ignatowich never does much in singles or men's doubles so maybe just playing Mixed with Bright carrying him he won't get tired from over bending for 2 handed dinks.

@@bart1476 u guys are clueless! gabriela is 100% right. you cannot be aggressive enough with slicing your backhand, topspin is the way to go and having two hands on the paddle is the only way to do that. even ben is incorporating that, do u think he s dumb?
