The Two Players That Destroyed The Springboks

Shannon Frizell and Will Jordan absolutely demolished the Springboks. I'll start with Frizell, with him it was more a case of the first 20 minutes. He was by far the best player on the field during that stretch, he was superb on attack and amazing on defence. It's not every day you see a Springbok team get ran over like he did, that try he scored was amazing, and looked picture perfect, especially the finish where he literally ran over Willie le Roux. He also managed to get a crucial steal in the first half as South Africa was starting to get momentum. He didn't have that big of an impact in the 2nd half, but by that time the damage was done, he did more than enough to get a win for New Zealand.
Then we have Will Jordan, I've always liked him, he's a try scoring machine and just reads the game so well. He's always in the right place at the right time. He just picked the springboks apart from the get go and did it throughout the game. He knew where the gaps were and made South Africa pay. He was also great under the high ball.
Hats of the the All Blacks, they destroyed the Springboks and these two players played a big role in that game.

...yeah exactly. I've been watching All Blacks footy for nearly 60 years and there's not many players in that time that I've seen that I straight away think 'superstar x-factor player'. Jordan is one of those and we've yet to see the best of him under a very ordinary All Blacks coach. Still, 22 tries in 22 tests says something doesn't it ? In the last couple of weeks some people were calling for him to be replaced with Shaun Stevenson and whilst he's clearly an exceptional winger and will have a big future in the All Blacks, he is still no Will Jordan (no disrespect to Stevenson)

@@jameshickling2641 I think Jordan is better, for the same reason I think Ben Smith was better than Cullen. Cullen was amazing, a human highlight reel, but most of this spectacular stuff were solo efforts. Both Smith and Jordan have an insane range of skills and work better from a team perspective.

For me Ben Smith was my all time favorite All Black because of his "awkward turning angles at pace" that would fool the opposition ,sorry it's hard to interpret or say it exactly but Will Jordan has this ability which is near impossible to achieve. Only really good touch rugby players can do it

While Frizell & Jordan were indeed outstanding, what destroyed the Boks was our tactical kicking. I have never seen the AB's kick so often & so accurately. Nearly every kick was at the opportune moment, was accurate, & was chased/ contested effectively.

Indeed. Their kick stats make astonishing reading (as outlined on _The Breakdown_ last night). They made 28 kicks in play, 12 of which were contestable. Of those, they retained possession 10 times (83%!!) six from bombs, three from cross field kicks and one from a chip kick.

NZ outclassed us in all categories. The only place we seemed to match them was the scrum. A lot of salty supporters today at work complaining about the ref (shocker). Rassie was absolute class when he responded with "The ref had a better game than us today". Having said all this, don't read too much into this result. Shannon Frizell and Will Jordan played very well, they showed their talents .. they did not destroy the Boks. As a Kiwi that statement is way over the top in my opinion. We will take the win move onto the next game with our world ranking number 3 about where it should be at this point in time. Ireland and France are no doubt the favorites going into RWC 2023 with NZ, Boks, Scotland and England not far behind. Anyone one of these teams can beat each other on any given day so bring it on RWC 2023.

Obviously its hard to gauge the entire game from the clips, especially as they're designed with 2 AB players as the focus, but it looked like the two sides were playing an entirely different game. ABs looked dangerous, SA looked slow in attack and tired in defence, not just against the 2 olayers but just movement... ABs looked purposeful. Also, not meant as a diss to SA team or fans, sometimes things don't always fire, just purely my perception.

@@joedennehy386 wait for the world cup dude... you gonna lose again because the refs don't get a game next week if they "miss" something this week. Second take away is the Frenchies fon't consider NZ a threat, why do you think that is? NZ has been done a great disservice today because there is no way a ref would allow them to get away with the line out tricks, collapsing at the scrum and entering the mall from the side like they did this game. So, where is NZ really? We just don't know because the ref made that game a complete farce. Where are the Boks really? Also don't know, but normally these games are a bit of a recon assignment for SA close to the World Cup, especially all the bs teams come up with to circumvent the rules instead of legitimate tactics.

Black Ferns played their game against Northern Hemisphere teams in the RWC recently. Two different approaches producing two different results. AB's bought pace, precision and physicality from the kick off. Boks took 40 minute to recover and won the second half. A mean feat against a good side. Boks speed things up around the forwards and who knows what the backs can do.

Don't worry, it'll be a different Bok outfit come the world cup, with your captain back, and a settled side. Splitting the team left you lacking in combinations, and that will get fixed. It's going to be brutal with France/NZ in one group, and Ireland/SA in another - with the two groups facing each other in the quarters. Ouch. But please, let's cut the "and the ref" sour grapes in the comments for this vid. Seriously? The ref seemed to have made wrong calls for both teams, according to the TAS analysis vid. We could find ref mistakes in every match, and yelling at the ref is part of being a fan in most sports - but they're human - them missing stuff in real time is the equivalent of players knocking on, missing tackles etc. They are not doing it out of bias - how can they be, with neutral refs in every fixture? And if there was a genuine conspiracy v the Boks, how come they won the last world cup? All Black fans can point to some howlers against NZ (from the French forward pass in 2007, to the Lions reversed penalty in the final moments on the last tour). It happens, and we have to move on after a decent period of getting pi$$ed off. 😁We need to encourage people to get into reffing, not abuse them constantly, because without refs there is no game. Sure, have a review system to improve standards at the top level.

Mate I'm used to it. When I made videos of how All Blacks got screwed against England I was called an All Blacks fan. When I made a video on the ref in the France vs Ireland game I got called a French fan. And obviously people call me biased for SA as I am a SA fan. But take the game against the All Blacks. The ref was bad. And yes the All Blacks did get the 50/50 calls. The ref happened to favor NZ in that game, probably because you're the home team. Now people think I'm attacking you guys which is false. I have nothing but respect for the All Blacks. The SA vs NZ rivalry is the biggest in rugby and there is no team we respect more than NZ. And you guys destroyed us in our last game, there is no debating that. Whether that ref was picture perfect or even if he would've given us the 50/50 calls. You guys won because you absolutely destroyed us in that first 20 minutes. We can't blame the ref for our poor defence. You picked us apart. But yeah I never said we lost because of the ref. I said the ref was bad. And we also got away with stuff. I always do refereeing analysis videos, regardless if SA wins or not.

Deon Fourie would have also been a better choice. He would have disrupted the rucks a lot more and then the ABs would not have been AS dominant at the rucks as they were. I love Mapimpi, but he is done. Kurt Lee and kolbe on the wings is by far a better choice. I don't know why we keep picking Kolbe if we are not going to play it wide for him. what is the point of having such a great attacking player if we do not use him. With our team selection, i knew exactly how the Boks were going to play, and if an amateur like me can figure it out, I am sure the ABs would have as well. And when our team gets picked this way, they have ONE plan and ONE plan only, and if it goes wrong, then we are f#$%^ed!!! They should have started Libbok and give him BIG game exposure, even if we lost. Damian is NOT a flyhalf.

All blacks will not win the world cup playing this way. They seem to be playing a counter attack style of rugby which is good at test level. But in world cup tournament this style is dependent on the other teams mistakes, and most teams are to switched on to make mistakes. See how SA were on there way back in 2nd half. Nz only got those late tries from SA lack of vision. Which can be easily fixed by their analyst during debriefing. Nz really need to change if they are ever to win another world cup
