I saw nothing Swedish here. But I loved it. The 70s were a great time, people could make fun of each other and no one was bothered. An example of that great British humour.
@goodiesguy8 жыл бұрын
Fun fact, this idea originally came from an sketch Benny Hill did back in 1971 which was a murder mystery sketch which everyone was speaking in letters. Barker was a avid admirer of Hill's work (as said in Barkers biography) and the influence can evidently be seen here. Of course, Just like Hill, Barker always added something new and put his magic touch on any comedic sketch. The result was this brilliant piece of work!

Many years later, the Ronnies were asked why, in a "Swedish" restaurant, RC was dressed as a Bavarian. Neither could give an answer.

I love this - the Two Ronnies were far funnier than Morecambe and Wise.
@rachelgregory8883 жыл бұрын
Morecambe and Wise were not funny at all. Never understood their popularity!
@nottmjas3 жыл бұрын
@@rachelgregory888 they had their moments like the wonderful parody of Singing in the Rain, but most of the time their comedy was too slapstick for my taste. But I'm sure that many will disagree. The Two Ronnies on the other hand had brilliantly crafted sketches that were wonderfully performed.

@@rachelgregory888 Very true! I never liked them. Totally overrated!
@arslongavitabrevis51363 ай бұрын
@@nottmjas Morecambe & Wise were very mediocre and highly overrated. That is why nowadays nobody cares about them and the Two Ronnies and Benny Hill are loved and still popular.

It's not supposed to be swedish or german, it's just a joke.. the letters are the first letter from each word. FUNEM means "Have you any ham?" and so on..
