Hey guys, what’s happening? Niyat here with film comics explained. As voted for by everyone in the latest poll, over the next few weeks we’re going to be diving into the expansive Warhammer 40K universe.
In this massive video, I’m going to do my best to provide an introductory overview of the Tyranids, an extragalactic zoo of hideous, insect-like aliens that redefine the term "bio-diversity" with their countless variants in the Warhammer 40K universe.
I’m planning on covering many more topics in the 40K universe over the next few months in more detail, but the purpose of this video is to provide insight and a brief overview of the Tyranid species.

@@ernest9868They do use natural structures and grow through them to create horrific large space fairing structures. The Tyranids also eat all metals and other elements on the surface on planets. Depends on the authors in question what you get hinted at about this truly alien invader. I think the Tyranids are going to ultimately pen in and isolate pockets of life in the galaxy. All in an act to push them to desperation so it can exploit them to harvest as much possible potential as can be gained.

I'm no WarHammer fan, but imagine if you combine Xenomorphs from the Alien franchise with the Flood from Halo, and you've got the Tyranids.

Only thing thats terrifyingnabout the tearynids, though, is that the ARE conscious and they member everything: EVERYTHING AND ARE AWARE OF EVERY OTHER TEARANID IN EXISTENCE. Imagine a consciousness AWARE across galaxies and time and space. Each tearanid is a synapsis of a brain, and they LEARN. Imagine knowing everything that every tyrand has EVER known in the past Having memories of your parents and your grandparents. And your great great grandparents, having thei memories as YOURS And knowing what Every tyrannid nows right now and thrm know YOU

Alien, The flood, Bugs from troopers, Ender's game aliens, you could name whatever alien type it is and the nids probably has some version of it and made to be even more brutal and terrifying, they also adapt when you kill one alien that alien can comeback to life geared up tou counter you not to mention some nids have a gamer mindset they know they can be remade by the hive via biomass reconstruction with the same memories and mind, with adapted arsenals or abilities to beat the ones that killed them for the next encounter, there's this one tyranid tyrant that loves using it's bone swords and just always goes and charges the enemy regardless if it wins or not only to comeback stronger and faster

@@Mezha07 Well, while the other creatures you've mentioned are quite accurate to the Tyranids, the Formics from Ender's Game aren't parasitic, they're just like a combination of humans and Earth's eusocial apocrita (ants, bees and wasps) in addition to extrasensory perception, such as telepathy, and there are a few Arachnid castes, like the Control Bug, that are parsitic enough to control their hosts or the Leadership Bugs (i.e. Brain, Queen and God Bugs) that can absorb memories from other beings by sucking their brains out to gather information.

42:25 Nope, that's a Zerg Overlord from StarCraft. Rumor has it SC started out as a WH40K game but had to be spun off into its own IP. And it shows in how similar the Zerg are to Tyranids. Similar for the Terrans with their own flavor of "Marines" in their bulky armor with giant shoulder pads, and the Protoss "space elves" with their heavily ornamented and elegant-looking tech and omnipresent psychic powers...

I love how you mention we may have encountered the tyranids much earlier on. I remember one of the stories about the inquisitors and a small group that encounters one of the space craft during the great expansion or whatever they call it. They turn on the space ship that is one of Humanities creations and the Artificial intelligence is soo disgusted by how much humanity has devolved. It's like we are a shell of our former selves in the future compared to what humanity once was.

I mean, we devolved into basically the Roman empire in space and are steeped in religious dogma the Adeptus Mechanicus dosnt even KNOW how technologies work they do rituals to do stuff but do not actually KNOW how stuff actually works. To re power the dread ships, they literally have some dude carry an irradiated rod into the reactor, and he slowly dies, and they do this every time instead of creating a piece of machinery to load it for them...

The audio and part of rhe video is from battle fleet gothic and he spliced in parts of the 10th edition trailer. If you want to know about 40k though I suggest you read the books/codexs. KZfaqrs are unreliable unfortunately.

I like to think that the Tyranids are the bio engineered "Clean Up Crew", created by a or possibly more Old One that escaped the War in Heaven. That could explain why the Silent Ling went into Exile out of the galaxy and has such an interest in fighting the Tyranids.

40K has some of the richest lore of any fictional universe. What I love about 40K unlike other scifi with similar ambition in scale is that 40K leans into the space magic and fantasy rather than just trying to explain it away as "advanced tech". As dark and serious as some aspects are, 40K doesn't shy away from it's own absurdity. It's both a great drama and a self parody. I don't dislike good science fiction but I personally find an open embrace of fantasy elements more pallatable than pseudo-science. I believe much of this is inspired by Dune although 40K isn't afraid to take from a variety of genres and epics, with the orks and Eldari being perfect examples of this.

I love star trek, probably my favorite sci fi franchise. I got into an argument with another nerd that thought the Borg would be effective in the 40k universe. I disagreed. The borg might stand a chance agianst the Tau, but they would be absolutely wrecked by any other species, much less the tyranids. Even the humans would prove impossible as the vast majority of humans would be useless for them as an improvement. And as soon as the empire is aware of the borg, they would just vaporize on sight. The orks...the orks would make the Borg less effective of they assimilated them. And the Necron, the Borg would probably worship the Necron. The Tyranids would just uno card reverse.
