For someone who carries the air of a down-to-earth everygirl, Jenn Chia (or otherwise known as SoImJenn) is far from ordinary. From her crazy ideas that have literally taken form in her “auntie Siow” and “Michelle Siao” personas, to her unconventional proposal, wedding dress and banquet, Jenn has managed to build a career from being different and unapologetically herself. But what goes behind the beautifully curated image that we now know as Jenn Chia? In this episode, Jenn spills the hardwork and ugly truths it has taken for her to get here today.

I love this series by Sonia - the only podcast/similar video that I would watch. Additionally I have been following Jen too and love how she always does ads so well and can tell how much of a perfection she is. Having her as a guest like this just shows the reality and appreciate her sharing this. Watching this video and making me reflect that those 3 steps of acknowledging myself and giving credits is really important. I absolutely love the step 3 part from Jen mentioning "can we forgive/accept it" This make me wanna reflect as well bcos I'm always known as the cold and heartless person. This REALLY helped me so much! Love and can't wait for more series with Sonia and hopefully more from Jen too! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

My biggest takeaway as a perfectionist almost all my life now is to have self-compassion. The 3 steps that Jenn shared on being aware, understanding, forgiving/accepting, are gonna be my compass when I face setbacks from now on. Thanks for this wholesome sip back session, Sonia and Jenn! 🫶

It's such an amazing show! I have been a fan of Jenn for quite a long time and discovered that being a content creator, especially navigating through all these circumstances, isn't easy. I hope to see more superb videos from her. The biggest takeaway from this episode is loving myself, practicing self-compassion, and remembering to give myself credit for my achievements. Thank you Jenn and Sonia, for this amazing sharing.

Thanks Jenn, for putting to words what we define as imposter syndrome. Beyond the name, it’s the emotional turmoil of understanding that beneath all that, we return to ourselves which may not be what people like. In all, loving ourselves is the most important thing of all - that ultimately keeps us going! You go gurlll~

To me, this episode came out at the most perfect timing as Im taking time off to reflect more on myself and finding what's the real meaning of my own life. My biggest takeaway is about self compassion - the 3 tips Jenn and her therapist shared about being aware, understanding and accepting/forgiving. I guess all my life when it comes to work, and especially work I've always exceeded expectations and when my colleagues doesnt, it bothers me like why can't they do it it's so easy and shit. At that moment I was wishing that I had a few more "ME" to get the job done, cause' Im just that productive. Which made me realise, everyone and what one wants is different. Definitely brought light to me at this stage of life and applying it to myself also sharing to the people in need so thank you, Jenn and Sonia❤ YOU BE YOU✨

Hi Sonia & Jenn, My biggest takeaway is having self-compassion & respond first before reacting, which includes awareness of my feelings & recognising it; understand why am I feeling this way (or what triggers us) and then ask if whether I could forgive or accept it. At the same time, I believe that we should not feel ashamed of it and relearn things along the way when we’re going through this process. We needed to go through that to be who we are today and I am going to keep going through that. I am a work in progress and I am enough. :) 🫶🏻 Thank you both for being raw & transparent. I have always loved & have been following contents that’re meaningful as sometimes life isn’t perfect as we see the way it is at the ‘front seat’, and hence, thank you for this“Sip back” episode. This episode also reminds me that it’s a journey to return to who we intrinsically are, being centered at our best, & experiencing our greatest meaning & fulfilment when we’re giving & receiving love from others.

Hi Sonia and Jenn, I'd love to express my heartfelt gratitude for delivering such an incredible episode. My most significant takeaway revolves around the three steps to self-compassion: awareness, understanding, and forgiveness/acceptance. The example shared by Jenn regarding managing anger was enlightening. I'm genuinely inspired and committed to practicing these techniques, with the aim of being more compassionate and kinder to myself. Thank you both for your valuable insights and of course to the production team too - happy 2024 to everyone! :) P.S Would love to be part of the audience too, checking in on how to sign up for that - thank you!

Wow I can relate to this so much. To have self compassion. I didn’t know it was a thing to have or to even realised it? Often times we’ve been so focus on our own standards that we couldn’t understand why people cannot keep up or be the same, that, keeps you so frustrated but to realised that, that was not their point of view was such an eye opener for me. And to be able to accept and forgive? Yes, it’s another level to self growth. I think that was my biggest takeaways. (‘; Thank you Sonia for having this and Jen for sharing ❤you guys are amazing!

I really love Jenn's content and have mentioned so many times to people around me that she is so talented! I guess my takeaway in life and after watching this is the definition of successful. Who would have thought Jenn being a well known creator in Malaysia- people defined that as successful was not happy from within. After going through the process of getting to know herself better, her own version of successful simply means she feel genuinely happy not being defined by any of her work or character. As I'm going through a similar stage of finding my true self, I too realize being successful doesn't means I gotta get married at age 28 have kids when im 30 years old and earn hell alot of money. Even though being different from the norm or peers "Successful" to me now means I'm growing my startup, growing my skill personally and being healthy, happy with my husband a.k.a business partner a.k.a life partner and a wonderful little frenchie dog.

My biggest takeaway from this episode is the 3 steps that Jenn has shared 1) Self-Awareness (Focus our emotion) 2) Understand our emotion (dissect our emotion - why we feel what we feel) 3) Accept or Change It (Ask yourself if you want to change or can accept it) Another thing I learned is never impose our values on others. Everyone has different dreams, goals and expectation. We also have learn to see things in different lenses

My biggest takeaway from this is a redefined perspective on success. I've come to realize that true success isn't merely measured by salary or material possessions, but rather by the pursuit of happiness and achieving a balanced, fulfilling life. The notion of finding motivation in money to attain work-life balance resonated deeply with me. It served as a powerful reminder that each day should be greeted with excitement and purpose, rather than being solely driven by financial gains. The journey of Jenn, particularly her healing process outlined in the three steps she shared, left a profound impact on me. It underscored the importance of self-reflection in fostering personal growth. By striving to be more aware, understanding, and accepting, I aspire to embark on a journey of self-improvement akin to hers. Ultimately, my goal is to evolve into a better version of myself, equipped with the tools to achieve greater fulfillment and success in life.

My biggest takeaway is I don't give myself enough credit. Every time I go into a job interview, they ask about my work accomplishments and strengths. I don't know what to answer because while I learn a lot from a job, I never felt accomplished. My colleagues needs to assure me I'm doing good and I should give myself credit but it didn't feel so for me. Moving forward I'll the 3 steps of being aware, understanding and accept/forgive.

My biggest takeaway is gin, orange bitters, sparkling water, and lime make a good cocktail HAHA. But in all seriousness, my biggest takeaway from this episode is that, as hard as it is, we must learn to separate our work from our self worth. When Jenn said "I am more than my work" I lowkey teared up because it made me realize how much I was beating myself down all these years for my work, when I should be more gentle towards myself and have more self compassion. It was a very insightful episode and I learnt a lot of lessons, keep up the great work girls ❤
