I just want to reiterate that some of the mean things i said are due to intense feelings i was having at being so violated. I've had a lovely time in Siem Reap this time and a good time in Phnom Pehn several years ago. The reality is if you have a lapse in vigilance, it is not a safe city to be, in my opinion.

You do NOT do anything in these countries when you've just been at the ATM/Money Exchange. Straight back home! And watch if someone's following you (in a smooth way).

Everbody should know that you don't let your valuables out of your sight. That's a basic travel rule, if you don't know that, you shouldn't be traveling.

Massage in Saigon was charging my account. Lost $500 , but the police dealt with it fast . 😅

Rule #1 When visiting countries that are worse off than your own, is never leave you hotel with more money than you intend spending. Maybe a little extra just in case, so for example, if you're leaving the hotel for a meal and a few drinks and you're certain 20 dollars will cover it, then 25 dollars guarantees that you'll have enough.

Everybody who lives in Phnom Penh knows that. Just dont take money to a massage-place, just the amount you need. And best: change all your dollars to Riels, they wont swap riels. But i dont know if you stay at Big Easy its safe to leave big money in your room !!
