My first ever Download fest. Didn't think I was that much into hard rock and metal before, but it really opened my eyes. I still have a bad neck from nodding my head all weekend. lol Steel Panther were 100% must for us, and we're very glad we saw them on the Sunday. Not only were they hilarious, but great musicians too. Didn't see any TPD guys there, but I think I slipped on Rob's vom once.

I go to this festival here in the Netherlands every year. You get more efficient with packing each year. You can always pick out the first timers. They have full carts, atleast three plastic bags hanging off them. But the thing with this festival is, you need to cross a road, so they set up this pretty high bridge. Getting a stuffed cart across is hell, but very entertaining to watch. Key is indeed one bag. If it doesn't fit, you don't need it.

Just wanna say about the sponsor, as someone who is quite regularly hungover and finds the art of having to chew anything completely nauseating, that's a great product.

Download is the only festival I do on the regular and these videos are a great way to come down off the high of the festival weekend. Also this year topped it, as not only did I get to see Biffy live for the first time, but as I was watching them I managed to get a chat and photo with Briody, Danny and Mary. All so welcoming and just nice people.

Love that video, really caught the vibe of the weekend perfectly, it was so good to be home. Glad you got some Spiritbox footage, for me they were the band of the weekend. Glad you enjoyed them but there was a lot of people leaving during Biffy, didn't see that with other bands that got the whole "they don't deserve to headline Download" like Avenged Sevenfold and Muse did when they got their chance.

Just got my tickets for Download 2023.. Going to be my first ever festival, I can't fucking waittt!

On the very valid point about headliners, yes we need more coming through, but you know what the problem is, streaming and for those old enough to remember file sharing (yes kiddies, Metallica were right). Everyone is going to have their favs, that is not the problem, its that not enough bands have made it through into the premier league to be 'big' enough to headline a festival like Download. Why is that? part of the issue is that established acts like Maiden, AC/DC, Kiss are so huge its difficult to join that club, but do you know what all these bands have in common? massive record and albums sales to fuel their tours and grow their brand when it really made a difference. Even bands that been around for 20 years or so did not get the mega injection of massive album sales that bands like AC/DC got. The solution is not an easy one, but bottom line is if you can afford it, buy the album! buy the Ts, it will help. Stream it for sure, but buy it as well. Examples of bands that are good enough to headline, but are not 'big' enough, but might have been. Thunder, The Darkness, Airbourne. Anyway rant over, dream headliners that will never happen, but they could rip it a new one, Wildhearts, Reef.
