The making of the dog house for my two Dobermans. It came out better then I had planned, and the dogs love it :)
I want to make it clear to everyone who thinks I built this for them to stay outside, I did not! I built the dog house and kennel so they can stay there when we leave the house for a few hours until we get back, so they don't tear up the house. The dogs normally stay in our house, and I even built them there own bed to sleep in our bedroom.

Pete B. I found an amazing solution for my dobey. My hairstylist gave me one of his used industrial floor pads that he stood on while cutting and coloring hair. Its soft enough to be comfy for Dante but super thick plastic that covers the padding that also has sticky base to seal the pad to the floor. He LOVES it

Insulation is so crucial. Your pup's room is better insulated than my old house. If I was so fortunate to have a set up like this, I'd have to mount a flat screen tv in there. My crazy dog loves to watch KZfaq vids. He watched this one with me. Great job. You have every right to be proud of it. (subscribed)

If I ever win pire bawl or meguh minions . I will make air conditioned and heated insulated spot for me and the dogs. Also a custom cat house that the dogs can't get into.

Now just needs some puppy beds to complete their room. Actually that all a great idea it allows them to have access to the yard safely kept and an escape to a comfortable room like indoors to chill. If or rather when I buy my house I will do the same as you did!

Great job. You have been extremely considerate to ur dogs. Given dogs height, maybe the windows could have been lower. .. bigger, 2 instead of one & the dog door a little bigger. Maybe some bedding for the dogs?

I tried to put bedding but they tear it up and I've tried some carpet but I find it bunched up like a ball 🙁 They just don't seem to understand it for their comfort 🙂

Pete B. Just for future reference Insulation does not insulate still air is what insulates, what the insulation is doing is keeping the air still. So when you are stuffing R-30 in a 2x4 wall you are making less room for the air making it a lot less efficient for the cost. If those are 2x4 walls you would have gotten a better R factor with R-19 instead of R-30. R-30 is generally used in ceilings because there is room for it to fluff up to the whole 9" making a 9" thick dead air barrier.

Yeah for us it's nice to have a kennel so when we leave we know they're ok and not tearing apart the house.

Hi Pete! Great video! We've got three large dogs, two are Newfoundlands and a Shepherd/Doodle. The Newfoundlands are about 10 years old and the Shepherd/Doodle is 8 years old. Nice, I built mine just like yours with the deck, doggy door on side of the shed with a slanted roof. It came out pretty nice I have to say. Now I just have to frame out his room inside the shed. too bad I can't post a pic for you to see in the comment section.
