This is an excellent talking point ESPECIALLY on an item focused role like carry. Time and time again: I see people choose teamfight heroes with no plan as to how to account for the enemy heroes: or picking heroes that would simply NEVER buy the item necessary for the game. Also the idea of counters that necessitate counterplay is a really good distinction: I'd label them hard counters as itemization hardly helps and the burden of action is polarized one way over the other.

It's a decision between 100% physical damage or mixed damage too, when your enemy targets build for high magic resistance, like death prophet for example, battlefury can be the better option. If they have high armor, you're most likely better off building a mjollnir, even when you play jugger for example. The lightning procs do not benefit from your innate crit, but you will still kill your targets more quickly. Mjollnir also gets you insane attack speed atm, which allows you to manaburn much faster in combination with a disperser, to kill a medusa for example
