I'll never complain about an oily complexion.. I was oily all my life, hardly every wore make-up, cleansed with Nutrogena soap and Oil of Olay moisturiser .... then started menopause at 59, finished at 61 and suddenly, dried out like a prune!! Well, dry anyway, and started to get lines and grey hair (seemed like overnight!) Now I'm using face masks, morning moisturiser, night cleanser and face creams!! And now need a bit of make-up to put colour in my face!! 😊

I have short, blonde lashes too and sensitive 49 yr old eyes and *LOREAL DOUBLE WEAR TUBING and MAYBELLINE SKY HIGH mascaras are THE BEST....cheap, EASY TO REMOVE and no smudging. YOU'RE WELCOME!* ;) We DON'T HAVE Ulta stores in Canada, so thanks for mentioning alternatives. I love your videos ;)

Thanks for the explanation and note about this video being updated! So many KZfaqrs put out this type of video every year and don't bother changing the title, so it can be confusing if you're not looking at the upload date. Some of them don't even bother mentioning in the video that it's updated or refer to their previous videos. It's annoying. Anyway, thanks, Risa!

I’m 47, and I too find that many eyeliners now cause me irritation! I’d love, love, love to see a video (or a TT) showing your fave eyeliners (all prices) that don’t irritate your eyes. I hadn’t put it together until you said it in this video that many of the eyeliners that I can’t wear ARE gel pencils. I keep reverting back to my favorite MAC pencil, because it doesn’t irritate my eyes, but now I want to find some new options!

Ah, nice you gave a shout-out to Kokie cosmetics, they have some hidden affordable gems! I love their concealer and the monthly mystery box is a great way to try a nice assortment of full size products at a very good price! Risa, I just had to post a huge thank you for saying that not every skin needs primer! I have normal skin that looks pretty good for a mature woman. I never felt the need to use primer, even though many beauty influencers seem to think it is a requirement. It is so refreshing to hear someone say it! I also agree with you about your eyeshadow palette choice. I finally got the Always Naked palette at my local Walgreens. Last one! I just love it. Really one of the best drugstore eyeshadow palettes ever. Many thanks for another informative video!

I absolutely LOVE the L’Oreal Serum Foundation. I actually prefer it to the L’Oreal Infallible Foundation. It’s just the perfect coverage for me without ever looking caky.

It's true drugstore price are going up. Here on UK Milani and even Nyx are not much cheaper than MAC or Urban Decay. With prices rising makeup is becoming an expensive hobby.

Another great setting spray is the one from Flower Beauty. It has the most perfect fine mist-very impressive for a non-aerosol. I like it so much better than the much celebrated Charlotte Tillbury. As always, you look beautiful, Risa!

Risa, I've been following you for a while and I'm not someone who comments on anything, but I think you are the best adviser/youtuber for over 40s out there. I'm 50 and have always loved makeup. Like you said in this video i am one who lost her way with makeup when i was raising my family. By the time i got back into it (in my late 30s) i had lost my confidence and knowledge of what suited me let alone how to apply it. Your videos have been an education for me and i trust your opinion. I love high end and drug store. I live in Ireland but recently visited brother in Philadelphia - i went armed to Sephora and Ulta with my wish lists recommended by you (as we don't have either here). I was not disappointed. You look amazing with or without makeup. P.S. i'm an oily girl too!

Great choices Risa! Will have to give the Loreal foundation a try since I have normal/dry skin. Wet n Wild seems to have a lot of good products. Also I own some eye brushes from Sonia Kashuk (from Target) & Eco Tools and they are good quality at reasonable prices. Love the blouse (or dress?) you wearing! Some of my favorite green colors.💟
