My favorite boss fight in terms of gameplay and lore has to be the one against my father. When you have your first encounter at level 5, you can’t really do anything. He’s taller, stronger, drunker and you’re too young and underequipped to take him head on. However, when you level up enough to reach level 18 and finally complete the quest to unlock “Firearms license” and get good enough RNG to have a G18 drop, you’ll finally be able to defeat him! You *technically* could beat the fight at level 5 by using a glitch called “calling the police”, but honestly, that’s not fun at all. The intended strategy is way more satisfying. Great job Miyazaki! 10/10 boss design

Advice for dealing with the Demigod fights (not the dragons or such) Margit, Morgott and Mohg: Omens are highly vulnerable to bleed, utilize this effectively and you can breeze through their fights, do this during Mohg’s curse for some decent damage and you can almost prevent him from healing a lot Malenia: If you have Distance on her when she begins Waterfowl Dance, just start running away for the first flurry of attacks, then dodge left into the next flurry twice, then finally, dodge into the final flurry twice again and dodge away once they end for the flurry that ends the attack, it ain’t easy, even after successfully dodging it multiple times I still find myself failing to do so on multiple attempts so it’ll all come down to whether your brain has it completely down or just made a lucky guess Radahn: Just trade aggro, the NPC helpers who you summon can do so much without you, to the point where the only reason you should get involved is to keep them alive so that you can all trade aggro, oh yeah, and when Radahn jumps into the air for his big meteor attack, get on Torrent and start running immediately Rykard: Just use the spear, I know it’s not great, and it doesn’t do anything outside of Rykard’s battle, but for your own sanity just use the fucking spear Rennala: Stun lock…that’s it, that’s all you need to know, stun lock her, summon spirits to keep her stun locked if you have to but just stun lock her and she won’t be able to do anything, also since she’s not wearing armour she’s also vulnerable to bleed so go nuts with bleed Maliketh: Imma be honest, I ain’t got any good advice for this one, if you hit his head with a heavy weapon jump attack, you could get a stagger and a critical, but if you’re struggling to hit him in the short windows he gives you, just use faster weapons like straight swords, katanas, curved swords, daggers, just use a faster weapon Godfrey: First phase is straightforward, no real advice needed, second phase however is where I’d just suggest waiting for an opening in an attack you KNOW you can punish Radagon: Straightforward to the point where if you need advice, the best I can give is unfortunately “Get good” Elden Beast: I mean…it’s body is massive, hit it with something like the bubble blower staff’s unique skill for immense damage and even staggers

I love that if you are blocking with a shield when Godfrey does his roar that knocks you back, instead of flying backwards you flip and slam your shield into the ground to rebalance yourself.

For mohg, the tear isn’t required. If you have enough vigor, it’s possible to let the first two nihils damage you, then heal and heal after the final one

Mogh’s nihil attack was pretty easy to tank with basic healing flasks… still would’ve been nice to know about the crystal tear

the worst thing about waterfowl dance is that evading it is completely based on luck. if she does it when you are near her, you are dead with no way to evade it. if you have some distance, you can get out of range of the first attack and then evading the other 2 is easy. that means you have to do hit and run attacks and hope she uses the move when you are on the run part. or respec to full mage and use magic only to avoid getting close then respec back to your normal build

Malenia pro tip Step 1: As soon as she rises for the dance sprint as far away from her as possible. Step 2: After her initial burst of slashes she'll stop in front of you. When she raises her sword for the second burst roll towards her. Step 3: Roll towards her again to dodge the final burst and avoid the last little attack at the end. Congrats you now can dodge the waterfowl dance without bhs.
