Oh, my goodness! What a sharp edge! I have a little edger that you push like a lawnmower, but I still have to go back and dig out clumps. That one must be the Cadillac of edgers! The edge looks photoshopped in the drone footage because it’s so sharp! Worth every penny! I find it amusing that you call that bed “a little bed.” 😆 Have a great week, Matthew!

Oh my, that perfect trench! Me and my shovel would have been there for hours, lol. I am eying a leaf vac, Matthew. It’s a big investment, but would sure save a lot of work. Everything is coming along very nicely. Loving the progress.

You've done an incredible amount of work this season! You must be pleased that the front is finished (for now). I really appreciate your attention to detail. It does save time in the long run to get it right the first time, so you don't have to go back and fix something later. Your equipment is going to get quite the work-out on your new property!! I can't imagine doing it by hand!

Extending the bed in a small curve in front of the rock and maybe a low grass or sedge would be lovely, Matthew and keep you from having to rework that rock wall. Just a thought. You’ve got this!

In New Orleans I had an edger with a 3.5 hp engine, but nothing like the wonderful edger you have. You need it with the extent of your property. Your beds will look wonderful and enhance the beauty of your property next spring.

Gardening with Creekside has been using the industrial version of your edger for quite some time and I was very impressed with how easy it seemed to be to use. With a garden your size, I’m sure that it will come in handy for maintenance. Things are looking lovely as usual, even with the leaves gone the bed lines look fantastic!

I believe they have the EZ Trench I was mentioning. It's slightly cheaper, but doesn't have as many routers options to do other tasks like the Brown does.

Amazing tool! Results look SO good! I'm trying to find a way to transition to all natural edging in my lawn/garden areas. I now have some stacked paver stone circles, but it's starting to look a little busy.....too much stone. I want the edges to be very neat and just disappear. I am the "average homeowner" who can't afford specialty equipment, so I'm still searching for the best solution. Thanks so much for sharing your experience and knowledge! Very helpful!

I am going to look into renting an edger in the Spring and doing all my beds... thanks for another very informative video... also, thanks for walking around while talking to us - it's great to see the yard from all angles (including the drone angle)... side yard across the driveway looks great now that the "crops" have been harvested...

The beds you finished look really great! That's a great tool to have for someone with a large property like you. Can't wait to see you do the trenching for the drip irrigation. I bought a little electric powered trencher that I'm going to use in the spring for drip irrigation as I have a small property. I'm sure I will get a lot of ideas from watching your process. Smart purchase for your new property. Looks great. Not that I would ever need one on my small lot but what’s the rough price on a purchase like the one you got? Something like that and a walk-behind lawn core aerator would be tools I’d crave if I owned a large property.

Stihl makes a home version garden bed edger that fits their weed eater handle. $269 I believe is the cost. We like our stihl products.

I have the Stihl Bed Redefiner and that's what I mentioned in this video, but it was not created to make new edges and doesn't do a great job at it at all in my soil if you try. It does do an excellent job at freshening up existing edges though and I did a video on it earlier this Spring/Summer at the old house.

Matthew, when you make a natural edge around your trees, do you ever have tree roots that are above the ground? What do you do when you get to these? I have this problem.🤦🤷‍♀️

Not showing viewers the ones I mess up! Haha. Before I had this machine I placed a tape measure against the tree trunk and measured out the distance all the way around the tree placing plant stakes as I go. I'd start with 8 stakes and as you get better, you can move down to 4 all the way around the tree. Then just edge toward each stake in a slowly curving line.

The garden bed is large and will be fun to plant in such large space? Will you add paths through the bed? I find it difficult to reach certain sections of my garden when the beds are too wide. How will you manage it?

Very nice! I’d love to buy one of those but have a feeling it’s out of my price range. I never have used one but on all the videos I have seen so far of these edgers everyone is pulling it backwards so you have to pull it backwards all the time?
