Possibly the best, easiest to understand video I’ve ever seen to set up flash irrespective of the background colour. Only thing I’d say is, because I couldn’t remember the calculation for the main flash setting I’d use a light meter. Brilliant video. 👍🏻

Please continue to do what you do. The photography community is benefiting so very much! I do have one question/suggestion/wish....I have a Nikon D7100 and a looking to move up to a full frame camera (yet keep my Nikon lens...can't afford to completely "jump ship" to another system at present), but, I an wondering if you have the inclination to do some pro/cons and sample pics with a crop and full frame for dynamic range, etc.? Was thinking about the D750 model. Many thanks!

@@BeyondPhotography Great Video! I will be trying this tomorrow in the home studio when my photographer buddy visits. PS. I'm a D7100 user like Huie (above) but I also have a D700. I was guessing you were using a D750 - I'm hoping to borrow one to see how it compares with the D700. Tim (Southampton U.K.)

@@Cotictimmy I upgraded to D800 (fx) from D7100 (dx) about a year ago. D800 is a killer! although I heard that D750 is good too but targeted for videos. I am hoping to buy D850 or D820 in addition to this. If you mainly use your camera for studio work, D7100 or D7200 is not bad and would be close to those full frame sensor if you use very good glass like 24-70mm in front of it . @Beyond Photography; The model is fascinating, is she based in malaysia too?

@@ay1ism I tried a D800 a few weeks back (looked like a real bargain for the money) but my brother and I could not get consistently sharp image no matter what we tried (tripod, mirror up, studio flash etc.) . I think that one was just a dud (which would explain the low price.) In the meantime we tried a cheap 155k actuation D3x and absolutely loved it. We since bought a 30k actuation D3x and they the work identcally - turning out super sharp, high quaiity output for low price. The D700 is sold and the D7100 is on loan to a friend.

This was a really great tutorial. Very detailed and thorough. Since this is studio work - I would like you to add in something about doing this with studio lights. Like the placement, settings and such - just like you did for these speed lights. Great tutorials!

Hi. Sad thad your tutorials aren't tanslated in french ! Your way to drive 'em are quite nice ! For sure, in France, we have some nice photo tuto's but sure that u could get success !
