Engine DJ consists of a desktop app which allows you to manage your music libraries, and an operating system which powers standalone DJ hardware (without the need for a laptop). All Engine devices provide a certain set of features, such as Internet-ready music streaming via Wi-Fi, the ability to control lighting and sync them with music, and multi-touch displays.

Great vid! I sold all my Pioneer gear a few months ago for a really good price and got myself a 4 decks SC+LC6000 setup and a Xone 96 mixer, not going back for sure, especially now with the 2.4 Engine OS update which is just huuge!

Thanks for the awesome video! I do have a question. I am the owner of a new SC LIVE 4 since yesterday. I absolutely love the device but it crashes once in a while. When I use Beatport Link for instance. I have a very stable Wi-Fi connection with WPA-2 (so not WPA-3) which should be more stable with the DENON build in network card. The device just freezes and reboots on its own. I have the 3.2 firmware installed because that's what it did by itself yesterday. Do you have any idea what's wrong or what I am doing wrong? Again, thanks for the video. It really helped me out as a new Denon owner.

Hi, I have a denon sc live 4, and I realized that "Search" only finds what is already in the library of the playlists I made. I would like to know how to make the "Search" scan the entire SSD.

I have an X1800 and it sometimes suffers from these grounding issues. I haven't found a decent fix anywhere though... would be silly if I had to return it to Denon so they can fix it - the shipping costs alone are probably insane. If you happen to know a fix which I can do myself, please let me know :)

Awesome review. own a couple of denon dj controllers. The Prime Go, Awesome machine. I use it at most of my gigs. I also have the denon dj MCX8000 which I haven't since I bought the Prime go. I'd still wanna keep it though. I may use the MCX8000 from time to time, but use with VDJ instead of with serato dj pro. I've had some issues with serto dj pro with the MCX8000. My next denon dj product Im looking to purchase is either the SC6000 or LC6000 with the prime 1850 mixer. 😊

@@PassionateDJ after the 2.3.2 update I wasn’t able to adjust the beat jump value size using the shift + the knob instead I had to into the settings panel and change the value size.

Several reviewers have mentioned that the Denon mixer is not the best in class for SQ. In a four-deck setup with dual SC6000M/LC6000, what mixer from an SQ standpoint would be a suitable replacement for the X1850? I’m leaning toward the Xone:96, but the MasterSounds Four Valve also appeals to me.

I have been using them with an AH92 and have loved them.. . . I just purchased a Model 1.4 …. let us see if I get used to this one, but I expect the sound to be even better. This one is actually made in the UK… and it makes a big difference in quality (materials more than anything)

Thanks for covering the Denon line. Your reviews have been constructive for me. I’ve been out of the DJ scene since 1990. So I’ve been trying to get up to speed with the new technology and systems. Which has the better DAC sound quality, between SC6000 and X1850? Is there an SQ improvement using the SC6000 digital outputs into the mixer?

With my in-studio testing, I can't say I noticed any sound quality "problems" with any of these devices. That being said, the SC6000 has a better DAC (when comparing signal-to-noise ratio and THD+N). I have not done an A/B comparison of the mixer with analog vs. digital. Though with digital, you eliminate the risk of noise, run length, or anything else getting in the way of your signal.

Personally, I didn't like the dac on the x1850 so I sold it. It had a slightly harsh high end. Dac on the SC6000 is fine.

I really don't agree with the point that any of the Denon all-in-one systems are a good center piece for connecting more devices you may want to have in your setup. This is what differentiate the Denon from the Pioneer devices. As Denon only have software effects that can not be used by external hardware, Pioneer all-in-one units have hardware effects that can be used equally by the internal and external devices. Something you would expect from a center piece unit. You would probably not buy a 4 channel mixer where the effects were only available on 2 channels, would you? If having 4 internal channels available is important and a requirement, go Denon, because then you will hardly use any of the channels for anything else anyway. On the other hand, if you're more of a multi gear user, or like me have been in the game for many years and want to have turntables and cdj's, and perhaps other Pioneer gear usable for link connection connected, Pioneer will be the obvious option. If your all-in-one will never leave it's case except for when being used at gigs, go with whatever fits your needs and wallet. I don't know why it's so hard to mention this little fact that could be a decision maker for many buyers. It's not that Denon themselves or any reviewers out there mention it either, so even with extensive research, DJ's will learn the hard way what software effects mean when they hook up their turntable for the first time trying the effects out, like i did with the Prime 4.

If you are streaming records from Spotify and do the grids and cue points will those save? If so, you would have to redo them if the next time you were streaming them from another platform like Tidal, correct? TIA

Streaming in DJ apps is not supported by Spotify at all. But generally speaking, you're correct - though you do still need a local storage drive (USB stick or SD card) to keep that stuff. I like SD card, because it sits flush :)

@@mb1958jay49 I think the Go is terrific… even more so as a backup. It’s very easy to toss in your bag, or sit down with headphones to test some mixes, etc. The battery is convenient if you’re the kind of person who moves around and works in different places like I do, lol
