Tip from a sawmill, when you want to release spruce sap, use diesel fuel. It comes right off.

@@TimberDesigns it was surprising to me to, but that is what we used to keep the tables of our planers clean. Running hundreds of boardfeet a minute you got to get that gunk out of there in a hurry. We had an empty can of VIM or something, just lathered that table at first signs of slowing down. Very hard to burn as it's diesel. Do give it a go. 👍

Try wd40 or other and a tooth brush it gets a heck of a lot of gunk off the bits without so much effort, especially if its not to dirty. dont forget to regrease any bearing afterwards.
