just replaced a 25 year old bit of kit that was worked to death, with a 21 year old same model but only used maybe twice a year . no wear anywhere even the labels are all still on it. all i hear is the new stuff is made lighter and flimsier. and now with all the save the planet crap even the engines are crap. the planet would benefit from well made stuff not needing replaced.

I have a shop full of old tools. I have newer tools, too, but I do try to buy old tools for the quality and to save money. A word of caution; not all old tools are the quality of your Skil belt sander. It's a buyer beware situation. Do your research before you shop.

Thanks Much for this Nice, Simple, Efficient, Doable Planter Box design. Saw this video last week and built 2 of them today for my Wife. She loved them. 1 was cedar and 1 was pecan fence pickets. I made the legs and top out of 1 species and the sides out of the other. Turned out pretty Good.

Good video. Make sure your items are level though. So much wobble on the planter, not a dig. Repetitive cut outs should ensure this unless you may be off on the cut. That machine in the background fixes all that though.

Great idea, however, I nearly had a heart attack when I saw you using the mitre gauge to cut the coasters but had the fence locked down for size. That's begging for a nasty kickback.
@TimberDesigns14 күн бұрын
Hey there, thanks for watching! I hear what you're saying there, and I don't do it normally as it can be dangerous, but my fence to blade is perfectly square so it was all good.😁
@evertkleynhans261714 күн бұрын
@@TimberDesigns Great, however, having spent 40 years in the mining industry I'm kinda paranoid about possible hazards and risks. New guys might not realise how important that square spacing between blade and fence is. Keep up the great vids.

Great job Dave, I wish I was less intimidated about making videos. i think it's the setup and tracking that puts me off. If I could get that down I would have done something on the items I built this week. They are not exactly small items with fast turnover but I enjoyed building them. As follows, all patio furniture using 2x4's : 8ft bench , 6ft bench with built in cooler, coffee table, end table and wide comfortable chair,. Next on the list is a full size dining table for patio. Sell them as a complete package or individually.

Hi Dave, not at all, and I'm also in Ontario. Depending on if being sold at a market or online through Marketplace, I usually get 65 to 75 each box 😁. Considering that it takes less than one hour and material is only $30, that's not to bad
