Though not strictly an AIO, Skyland overwritten by Fantasia (covering only landscapes) also by SkyKing, provides a strong base for a fantasy themed Skyrim.

I like when the retextures take into account and play on the uniqueness of the original vanilla assets, such as interestingly shaped roof tiles or brightly (or faded) painted or dyed colours :) When you mentioned how one of the mods retextures animals, I realized how badly I want a video about that! I'd LOVE a complete (lore-friendly) creature overhaul, including textures, ai, etc. It's been a while, but there were some cool mods out there that added more realistic herds and packs (iirc the herds included baby animals and whatnot), as well as ones that make the aggro on creatures like wolves less intense and more realistic

I've been running Skyland + Clevercharff + Chanty College + individual textures for quite a while now. Still very happy with it.

Such great timing for this video, and quality work as usual! I'm currently at the the texturing stage of my modlist, and at the moment I'm trying out Skyland AIO as a base. Then overwriting it in this order; Skyrim 202X, Atlantean Landscape (with Terrain Parallax Blending Fix), and Majestic Mountains (light version). Not quite sure that I'm fully pleased with it yet, I'll probably try Skurkbro's textures as I've heard and seen good things about it. To me it's important to not change the original art style too much, while having as much parallax as possible, and it's proving to be a real challenge. BTW, I recommend taking a look at Terrain Parallax Blending Fix and the compatible texture packs. It really highlights the shortcomings of so many otherwise good packs.

For my current modlist I am using Skurkbro's Retexture (all pack except landscape) + Atlantean Landscape (+ simplicity of snow) I am pretty happy with the results.

Personaly, I'm using Noble Skyrim as a base, then Omnibus, and then specific textures for cities, caves, snow, some buildings, etc... As you have showcased Omnibus, I highly recommand you to check Fantasia landscapes! It's VERY GOOD and I will use it for my next LO ^^

we're back for a new minimal modlist, and my go-to skyrim modder is here with the perfect texture overhaul guide!!

I currently use Skyland AIO + Noble and overwite individual cities and textures from there. I like a lot of Clevercharff's textures for cities, and love Skurkbro's landscape and terrain textures, particularly his ice textures. Aesthetically, I love 202X, but my computer dies just looking at it. I might try customizing a bit more this go around. As always, THANK YOU so much for retrieving that claw --no, wait --for doing solid side-by-side foundational comparisons. It's a massive help to see them showcased next to each other. If I may, in the future, please take the time to linger a good 15 seconds at least on each texture in the comparison sequence. I had to keep pausing, going back, and quickly looking at a single part of the screen several times for each texture just to know what I liked and didn't like, let alone started comparing them to my tastes. We just need time to sit with the visuals, take them in, then compare. I often take notes when watching your comparison videos, so it was less enjoyable and more work to come to my own conclusions. (I alsohad to search for title of the mod --it was hidden by your subtitles; maybe put it in the upper left corner?) Those are technicalities, though, and I still got some great information, and always enjoy your commentary. Your videos also always tempt me to go back to Cathedral Weathers and try it with Rudy's, but I'm really enjoying Obsidian Weathers with Silent Horizons right now (I've been using Cathedral for years --time to try new things!). You can never do enough of these videos. I love them. Thank you for taking so much time and effort to share your beautiful take on Skyrim!

Currently using Skyrim 202X. Use to use Skyland on console and on my laptop before i got a nice PC. It's still REALLY solid imo but I have the vram so ima use the vram.

I like agentw's markarth and windhelm. I also like to pick and choose from different texture packs for city mashups. I maintain the consistency by only swapping the complete wood or the stone wall textures for ex.

I absolutely adore Noble Skyrim with JK's Skyrim, shops, and outskirts. I love that it's performance friendly for my computer, and since I don't use parallax, it gives amazing textures, shadows, and lightning highlights when I use it with Lux, Embers XD, and EVLaS which all gets pulled together by Rudy's ENB SE for Cathedral Weathers. I can certainly see where other texture packs would be better than others, but I can't see myself using anything else right now with the setup I have.

I usually overlap several large overhauls then use MO2s conflict feature to hide the textures I don't want creating a perfect blend. Once you've finalized your textures you can separately go through and manually delete the hidden/overwritten textures and merge the packs together to create a single texture pack to save space

i use noble and majestic mountains and rudy enb for obsidian weathers.... looks amazing on my setup.

You can enable parallax effect with ENB if you have complex parallax materials, so even if the texture pack doesn't have it you can always do that with Clevercharff.

Noble Skyrim had been my go to mod. I recently moved over to Skyland. It is now my favourite by far. I tried some others but they all felt either too overly clean or too fantasy-like. Skyland has a nice realism to it. I especially love the Markart textures.

Tho not mentioned in the video, i would like to give a special shoutout to riton67000 and it's ongoing "Riton" texture packs. So far they've covered almost all the major cities and it's farmhouse textures are now easily my favorite amongst all modders! And of course, thank you for the hard work you put into the videos. It's borderline comfort food esque af this point :)

I really appreciate Skyland, but I am not a big fan of the moss on the deep underground dwarven ruins. So thank you for this video! It gives me some packs to look at when sniffing out a replacement of those textures :)

I finding that CleverCharff's AIO and Fantasia Landscapes (from the creator of Skyland AIO) is a pretty great combination.

I’ve been using Skyland for a while, might mix it with some Srp, Riton, and clevercharff.

I remember stumbling upon one of your graphic overhaul videos back when i was still new to modding and you had suggested JK's skyrim, went to my modlist and was disgusted at the abomination that I had made. Turns out I had mixed Fortified Whiterun + Medieval Whiterun + JK's Skyrim 💀. But now after 3 weeks under my belt of modding (still new, technically) and probably 5 or more clean modlist reset, stumbling upon your videos again damn JK's Skyrim never fails to overwhelm me with how good it looks especially with some Reshade or ENB. It's always good to learn new things when modding and see the results of your dream graphics overhaul. +1 sub for the great mod showcases, cheers!

I have been using Skyland AIO for quite a while, and this video re-confirmed my choice. It's a perfect balance of detail with a rustic feel. To me, Noble Skyrim is just too clean. But, to each their own! Thanks for the up-to-date comparison video!

I used Noble for so long and loved it, with aMidianBorn for buildings and Cathedral Landscapes on top. I really prefer trying to stick as close to the original look as possible and I think those did the job. Skurkbro's does look nice though! Like a newer Noble. Might try it out. Speaking of sticking close to original art direction, RUSTIC MOUNTAINS really looks like a remade HD version of the original mountains textures and worth a look. For some cities I've switched to Mrf's textures recently to give them a little more personality. Mrf's Solitude is wonderful to me, keeps the city looking very uniform with the red roofs and because of that it makes the blue palace really stand out even more when you see it. I know video production takes a long time so I imagine this one was started before Fantasia was released. Honestly I thought Fantasia would trigger a texture comparison video and was surprised it wasn't here. It's not my cup of tea but it does look really pretty! I hope it gets a mention in the future once it has had time to mature some since it pretty much _just_ released. Wonderful video as always and really appreciate the comparison transitions in the end, make it much easier to visualize!

I used Noble until discovering ENB about a year ago, and venturing into the world of parallax. Now, it's Skyland AIO with Skunkbro's (I know that isn't it, but it can't be helped) on top. As a long time 3D artist, I love feeling wood splinters in my eyes, rock chips under my fingernails, and counting the weave in the clothes.

Im running fantasia parallax on top of 202x and it's lovely (throw Nordic mountains in there too). I wanna try out clevercharffs now tho

personally I use Vivid Landscapes, - Complex Parallax with parallax enabled it has by far the best 3d detail I have ever seen for snow and forests

Having used Skyrim 202x, I prefer Atlantean landscapes because it is sharper, but I am testing out a combination of Atlantean w/HD remastered landscapes terrain LOD pregen

I like Skyland AIO (Architecture) mixed with Skyland bits and bobs with SMIM and Fantasia landscapes. But I do like the simplicity of Noble Skyrim because it's as close to a vanilla upscale as you can get.

I play in VR so 8K textures are important as you are right up to the textures... but since it's a high res VR headset it is like running two monitors and is very demanding but worth it (and getting a 4090 and living in Skyrim)

High quality video as usual! Hmm tough pick which is best 🤔 then again my rig is quite old and something what we Finnish would call "ruoska" 😅 but maybe Skyland AIO would be my personal choice 🤷🏻‍♂️

First of all, thank you for your videos. Do you have load order issues? Now with where to put them, but with it changing on its own. I imagine that you edit your load order pretty often for these showcases, and was wondering about that. I've had to change my load order a few times since the update and was wondering if you've experienced that too. That Skyland AIO mod looks amazing.

I too prefer to prioritize cohesiveness over max resolution or parallax, so that has meant noble skyrim base, with some of the lesser areas overwritten. I think that Noble has excellent landscape textures for those who aren't using terrain parallax, as they quite strong normal maps and don't look overly flat. Sets like Skyrim 202x and Skurkbro's tend to have individually impressive textures, but taken as a whole don't seem to quite "go together", or they look too clean/pristine. I tend to just pull an individual texture here and there from those mods. Skyland improved a lot in the past couple years so I've been using it more and more, for whole sections. Noble Skyrim Majestic Mountains Gecko's Dwarven Ruins MD's parallax caves (good even without the parallax) Skyland Nordic Ruins Skyland Mines Skyland Skyhaven Temple Some miscellaneous single textures here and there from Skyrim 2019 and 202x

Oh, a question if I may. What ENB do you use? I see you use NAT weathers. I've been thinking about trying something other than the saturated Technicolor look I've used for the past few years (Cathedral Weathers with Rudy ENB edit for Lux) and your setup looks great.

While a less popular overhaul, Atlantean is the choice for a well blended, and seam-less overhaul across Skyrim (with the exclusion of Solstheim at the moment). It also fixes most if not all of the seam issues that come bundled with any parallax texture overhaul - roads, cave entrances, rockpiles, mountain edges. It also supports setups that either use/don't use Majestic Mountains. Most overhauls only cater to one or the other.

really like skyland aio the most personally even some others have even higher resolution and more parallax or whatever i think it has the most immersive textures beside noble skyrim. even tho some ground textures with parallax in the others look sometimes better. nice comparisions and how you even told your own opinion. i respect your opinion and i would ofc like to know it too.

Noble Skyrim was quite a consistent package. But I think i like a bit more fantasy in my Skyrim. I'm not entirely sure my 12 year old PC is up to it though so I actually don't use any select mod pack myself. I tend to download some 1k mods that target specific things and build one up minimally. I loved Fabled Forests for my trees but before that i was using another one which was lower performance but changed trees, added dead trees in and changed my flowers which I didn't like. I have you to thank for showing me Fabled Forests and making it that much better. I also use a Graphics Overhaul as sometimes just how weather is done in game tends to give it's own retexture overhaul just by ambiance. If I did have to pick one I think Noble Skyrim due to it's age. Even though it's not my go to it is performance friendly and comes with great consistency. It's not bad and there is much to love it's just not very me is all Another great video Bard, loving the content and I'm loving having you back with us. Glad you showcased Skurkbro's Retexture Project. For me Skurkbro's mod is the successor to Noble. The retexture you missed is the new one by Skyking2020, after stating that Skyland has now reached it's final iteration. It's not really for me but I can see the quality in his new Fantasia Landscapes retexture mod. I'd love to see you do a comparison. There's a new mod called VRAMr that helps with VRAM issues, but you may not be supported by the texture pack modders if you use it. Worth reviewing though as the author states... "100% of any donation points earned with VRAMr go to Nexus Mod's charitable donation programme". Now that's how you support modding Bethesda. #keepmodsfree

Great video, didn't actually expect something like this so you could say it's a pleasant surprise. This actually got me to at least try one of them, in this case, Skyrim 202X. Shiny materials AND Parallax? I'm all in! I'm very picky with textures since I'm a texture artist myself, my friends more so, you don't wanna meet "Blackgrowl" when he's on a texture rant LOL However, I have some critiques here: 1. You did not include "Vanilla". You should have, it's always nice to see how these custom made textures replace the old one. 2. In your Comparisons, you forgot some of the most important places; Dwemer Ruins (which in turn includes Markarth). And yes I know you show some but not in the comparison itself. My criteria is to keep close to Vanilla Skyrim as much possible, but also heavily enhance it and balance it between fantasy and realism. For example, make significant objects have 1k or 2k textures, give them a good normal map, parallax if necessary (Clutters don't need that after all) and most importantly a proper Specular and Cubemap to it. 202X is closer to that than Skurkbro's. PS: I love it when you say "AIO" so fast, it actually sounds like you're being hastily painfully pinched, aei oau ouh!

What I personally look for in a texture mod is more vibrant colours for a more fantasy feel. I use Noble Skyrim as my base though as anything fancier or parallax threatens to bake the potato that is my computer.

I have tried them all but I swear by ALL of Skyking's mods with Skyland AIO with complete Parallax support as the foundation including his new Fantasia mods. It's absolutely stable, looks fantastic and covers everything.... didnt like Skurk and I found 202x too draining ... and I have a top end machine.... and I too was a Noble user for so long. Along with community shaders and your excellent recommendation of Klarity reshade I am in heaven :D... I also use Cathedral, Ulvenwald, simplicity of snow, blended roads.... Recently swapped back to ELFX as Lux was just too buggy after the updates, and the nail in the coffin was with Lux, the 'DungeonsRevistied' doesn't have Lux patch and Bleak Falls was a mess. Now to be honest I have gone 2k as with everything I have it just works... yes a few items here and there I will splurge with 4k, but realistically, the performance drop and the reality of how often I just stare is not worth the loss of performance.... got Dyndolod working... so with Skyland + fantasia+ Carhedrals +Ulvenwald + 'The Great Cities all with parallax and Klarity reshade... I am VERY happy (for now :P ) Thanks my darling, you are definitely a breath of fresh air in this world

Skyim 202x + The omnibus landscape + Vivid snow still peak for me

I'm still using Skyrim realistic overhaul, just stuck on it for years now much the same as you are with Noble. I tried Noble once, but it blew my mind that the blue shades were removed from the doors and woodwork in Whiterun, which is part of its charm for me, so that was a no. There was colour removed from the temple as well, I couldn't understand why someone would do that. Skyland looks quite cool though, might have to check that out. You can get away with using resources for landscapes I think, but architecture needs to be painted otherwise it looks odd, like a lot of these texture packs do. Good vid.

Could you please do mod downoad tutorials? I got skyrim for PC but was so intimidated. I tried vortex but it has alot of issues even tho its more new modder friendly.

I use a lot of these kinds of retextures for both Skyrim and Enderal and they make a very subtle but huge difference, in my opinion. It really makes it hard to believe that this game is over a decade old with what modders have been able to accomplish with it.

So I've got an amazing rig to play anything on 4K yet it's so difficult to find the perfect textures that right now I'm trying so many packs and handpicking what I do and don't like to make a perfect mix. Just takes so long. Especially when adding parallax textures.
