Once you figure out the exact clearance tolerances on the printer, threads become a little easier. But before that, just add like 2-4% scale in your slicer to the nuts, that's usually enough for them to fit, depending on how tight they are. Very fun design man! Love that reuse of all the shipping material from the mini lathe!
@loweredexpectations4927
@loweredexpectations4927 7 ай бұрын
I had thought about adding clearances, or trying to change it in the slicer... I'm sure it's also easier with more coarse threads. I was surprised at how well it actually worked, and with a lathe it was pretty easy to correct the threads ... tho that may have been a fluke ! You gotta make use of what you have around 🤟 Mini lathe crate was about 80% of the build ! haha.

Nice 👌 I have mine mounted on the back of my pedal bike. I was going to get my bike converted into an e-bike, but it was cost prohibitive. So mounted my spare CDH (Chinese diesel heater) onto a rear carrier platform. Sounds great when I’m peddling my knackers off. I turn the heater on and it scrolls up to full output. Thing is I am not getting enough thrust from the heater. To help propel me along any faster. So I need to go back to the drawing board and come up with some mods, that’ll help me pick up some real speed. Summary thus far……sounds pretty cool as it winds itself up to full output. But that’s about it……Big sad 😢😢😢 as I was expecting more.

Hi, you really need to change that fuel line for the more rigid white nylon type, that kind swells & absorbs the pulses from the pump, it's know to cause problems.
@loweredexpectations4927
@loweredexpectations4927 7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I have also heard this from many KZfaqrs and it has spread all over the internet. This, however, is not true. I plan on doing a test that proves this to be totally false, but the basic reasoning is that these heaters do not run with any pressure in the fuel system. The pump is there to meter / regulate the amount of fuel flow, but there isn't any pressure at all. I have worked on these heaters for many many hours and can tell you for certain that they do not have any sort of injection nozzle or restriction. Without a restriction, you can't have pressure. I hope this makes sense. I don't expect you to believe me over anyone else, and I will be making at least one video to drunk the fuel line myth. Cheers, and thanks again for commenting.

What do you think of the controller you use there compared to the one with the dial?
@loweredexpectations4927
@loweredexpectations4927 7 ай бұрын
The controller with the dial gets the job done.... It all depends on what you are doing with the heater. The Dial type is basic and it works. Basically it sets the pump speed and fan speed (at the same time) and it will burn X amount of fuel over X amount of time. That is, however, all it does. No more no less. The one I have can be set to come on at certain times or below a certain temperature. You can look at your phone and see if you forgot it running 🤣 turn it off or on, check battery voltage, room temp etc... so it really depends on what you want / need. If you can save some money and don't need the extra features, then go for it.

This is true, I try to inform people if this in the description of all of my videos. If you look in the description of this video, you will see that it says " 8kw (same as 5kw)" for the affiliate links. Unfortunately, as far as I know, no one actually makes an 8kw heater. I also have 2 heaters that are listed as "8wk". Many people have tested many heaters from different manufacturers, and demonstrated with basic math, that they are all in fact, much closer to 5kw. The only option for this style of heater, larger than 5kw, is to purchase a substantially larger one. I believe David McLuckie has tested a few 12 or 16kw units that he got from banggood or aliexpress. These units did not output the claimed amount, but they were more than 5kw. From my understanding, based on my research, some manufacturers have pushed the pumps paste their designed HZ to achieve slightly more heat, but this generally causes the heater to build up soot and also causes carbon monoxide issues. I purchased my first heater with the assumption that it was in fact 8wk... I did the calculations to figure out if it would be enough for my needs... I was not every impressed when I heard the news that I'm telling you... but in the end I am very happy with the product. I would be much happier if they would stop advertising them as 8kw.
