I find it interesting to see how Larry always seems to be aware of whats going on around him during the interviews. My comment on the lady who asked the dumb question is, it made sense to me to hear she was from public television. Larry worked so hard and his play showed it.

Thank you for sharing these video's = many of which I have never seen. I never knew how large the bone spurs were that Bird had in both heels and I never knew that these were bothering him as early as the 87 season and then during the whole 88 season. Injuries are something Bird never seemed to want to talk about probably because it would sound like some type of excuse. Thanks again!

We worked hard, practiced the fundamentals, had some luck, our shots started going in, and things worked out for us. 😂 The LB interview summary, but ask a good question & he was funny. Love that 70 year old lady: What are you doing here? After missing those free throws back in ‘74, you shouldn’t show your face. 😆 Great commentary! Wish I could like this more than once.

Ok I had stopped & commented BEFORE the Kenny Rogers thing and was a HUGE HUGE OLD Country Singer, Jazz, Folk, Rock, pop, and had over 120 top hit singles, sold over 100million records while he was alive, was one of the most successful crossover artists and one of the best selling artists of all times ....sang with Dolly Pardon a lot ....one of their top songs was “”Islands in the Stream”, and one of my favorites of his was “The Gambler” which won him a Grammy oh songwriter, too record producer, entrepreneur “Ruby Don’t Take Your Love To Town” . He partnered with Lionel Richie to write a lot! I forgot actor etc

Kenny Rogers was a country singer. I don't know the name of the song but the words went like, "you gotta know when to hold em, know when to fold em, know when to walk away & know when to run. You never count your money, when you're sittin at the table." I can't remember what came after that. Super catchy song. My dad took me to see him an Dolly Parton back in the 80's, it was a good concert. I grew up to be a metalhead but I liked some of my dad's music an Kenny Rogers was one of the musicians I liked, Niel Diamond was good too. He took me to see Niel Diamond as well, that dude sold out 6 or 7 shows in the old Seattle coliseum where the Sonics use to play an Kraken do now. Very popular guy.

That was Rick Barry. He didn't hold back anything. He would grab anybody for an interview yesterday and/or today. He was about the truth and not much bothered him, like it, or don't. He had nerve enough to shoot the Granny free shot for his whole career, at 90%. He and Bird played much alike, but Barry was some faster, and his over-all stats were slightly lower than Bird's.

If championship rings are the only determination in deciding the greatest players, then Eric Fernsten was a better player than Barkley and Ewing. I did some research. Both Fernsten and Eric are Scandinavian names. Larry had high praise for Eric as a teammate who played hard against him in practice sessions in order to make him better.

Bird didn't get along too good with the media for awhile--he was kinda shy off the court. Probably cost him the Finals MVP in '81. Maxwell was an interesting player, though--he was Draymon Green in the 80s. Very similar game, but Maxwell was a little more offensive minded. Larry loved those final shots and 4th quarters-when he took over, it was intense stuff--so confident. Everytime he was on the floor, you got the sense that everyone knew he was the man, and some guys hated that fact because of the trash-talk and in some cases, just for being white and so damn good--it took guys some time to get used to that in those days. But he was the man--so tough--a truly fearless competitor--even when he was having an off-shooting night, he demanded the ball in crunch time. I guess you weren't alive then Bu? Did you miss him?

@BUTV at around the 41:05 mark you say that the Milwaukee team of the 80’s was probably the best team from the East to not win a championship, I respect your opinion and understand why one might think that, but I have to disagree. Don’t think I’ve seen all your videos on Larry (LEGEND) Bird yet, but in time I will if I haven’t already. Bird is easily and by far my favorite player of all time and I really liked the Boston players from those teams in that era, but I have never been a true Boston fan, but I really liked those Boston 80’s teams because all five starting players fit together like a glove, and had players coming off the bench that the glove still fit when they were out there. But I am and will always be (regardless of their record) an ATL Hawks fan and that’s my pick for the best team of the 80’s from the East to never win a championship. And can’t nobody make me believe, no matter how hard they try and for whatever reasons they try using to make me believe. Nobody can make me believe that Dominique Wilkins is not one of the top 10 greatest players of all time. And as much as I loved watching those Larry (LEGEND) Bird led Boston teams play, but I never pulled against the Hawks whenever they played Boston. And that game 7 in the 87 Eastern championship I think it was (memory ain’t what it used to be), even though it was heartbreaking for us Hawks fans, it was a beautiful thing to watch, against two of the greatest to do it. And two players that had the highest amount of respect for the other. One of the greatest games ever played in not just playoffs but in NBA history. Just wish the outcome had been different.
@stevenharmon3876
@stevenharmon3876 8 ай бұрын
@BUTV around the 26:44 mark you talk about how these days players talk about the things they did on o can do on defense that they never even done or something to that nature. Thank you for pointing that out, fans today don’t know the meaning of and have no understanding of what a good defense and great defensive players are. They may see some good defenders today but they don’t see great defenders and that’s because in today’s league they don’t play defense much at all if any. Scoring is way up because defense is basically obsolete and in most cases the team that wins is the team that has the most players knocking down their shots. It’s more like your turn, my turn. Let’s see who can fly the furthest or get up the highest on a slam or see who can hit the longest three point shot. I can’t remember the last time I have seen an offensive charging called, because players are soft and lazy in today’s league, Larry Bird’s greatness isn’t based on the fact that he was one of the greatest passers ever or because of his great shooting ability or because he was the deadliest clutch shooting assassin ever, it’s because Larry gave 110 percent in every aspect of the game and because he was without a doubt the toughest SOB ever. Thats why I have him as the 🐐. There have been many players that were/are better athletes than Larry (LEGEND) Bird, but in all my years of watching basketball, there has never been a smarter, tougher or better all around basketball player. That’s just this 57 year old man’s opinion.

@BUTV nothing to do with Larry Bird or this video. I just wanted to ask you a question since you mentioned it in this video and you may have mentioned it before but for me it’s first my first time hearing it. I was just wondering since you mentioned living in Japan, what the reason for you living there is? My first guess would be that you’re military, but l don’t believe I have ever seen someone still actively serving in the military doing reaction videos. If you tell me this is none of my business, that’s fine I understand and there’s no hard feelings, I still dig and will continue watching your videos. Just trying to get to know a little more about the man behind the 🎤 whose videos I enjoy watching. But also understands and respects a person’s privacy when told none of your business. So if you’re military thank you for your service and reaction videos. If not military, still thank you for your reaction videos. And if it’s none of my business 🤷🏼‍♂️ doesn’t matter, it’s all good 🤜🏻
