How does your female ninja tier list look? ⬇️

Kitana and Mileena are like the female Scorpion and Sub-Zero where they have to both be there no matter what game it is

i am so glad mileena got her chance to live a normal life in MK1.She really got done dirty on repeat and a part of me feels like if Kitana had welcomed her, maybe she would have joined the good side. Probably wishful thinking though Still, Kitana's Mk9 ending with her jade and mileena defending Edenia side by side was the best thing ever.

Skarlet is so impressive considering how few appearances shes had. Def my fav

Interesting fact, Skarlet is the only female that can truly be considered a ninja. Her weapons Kodachi Swords, Kunai's, and Tanto, are all actual ninja weapons, where as Kitana's War Fans, Mileena's dual Sais, Jade's Bo Staff and Triblade, and Tanya's Boomerang, Kobu Jutsu, Naginata, and Staff are all non traditional ninja weapons.

I have been a huge Skarlet fan ever since her debut, I love her powers and backstory and the way she was portrayed in MK11 was excellent. Love her voice and personality. Super fun to play too. I wish she came back for MK1 at least as a cameo

Mileena will always be the best female ninja to me. She has a cool concept, great backstory, and hot designs. Hope she returns for every MK game.

I think this was a solid tier list. Also, I agree with you on Skarlet. She’s really cool and has a lot of potential. While I do dislike how they retconned her backstory, I still like her. It also helps that her voice actress in mk11 did great with her, and I love the accent.

Great video man, however I wish you mentionned Kitana's vital role in saving Edenia in MK Conquest, where she's able to get the essence that would free her realm later. We also see in that series that she began to believe in Shao Kahn's downfall when she saw how Kung Lao saved earthrealm singlehandedly

I really do have to agree with your tier list for the female ninjas. Skarlet while not having many appearances always seems to shine which is why she is can def be an A and Tanya as B makes sense because she never has a set backstory or moveset that could have seen her next to Jade as well.

Everytime I see the backstories of characters from the 2d to the 3d era of mk, it makes me hope we get full remakes of them someday with mk11/mk1 levels of fighting cutscenes. Only thing that’s stopping me from wanting that though is NRS being in charge because I just know they’d f it up somehow 😭

Kitana is the best character in MK! She is the face of MK and the most popular female character. 💙

I won’t deny that kitana and mileena are the foundation of the female ninjas for mk the same way scorpion and sub zero are. However, skarlet will always be the goat imo in terms of design, special moves, and just overall as a concept. I’m glad so much love finally got poured into her for mk11. The animation of her blood weapons and manipulations was god tier. Hope we get more of her.

I would count Tanya as a ninja, since she has a connection to Khameleon, with yellow being one of the colors for Khameleon since Armageddon.

I like the two versions of Kitana exists, One who became a god and Kahn of the same (sort of) timeline to Fire god Liu Kang. And the Kitana of MK1 where she is a devoted twin sister of Mileena, and would rather fight for her as her loyal general.

John Tobias said in a Twitter thread that his backstory gor Mileena was that she was introduced while Kitana was a child. After Sindel's suicide. So in the og timeline, Mileena was a couple thousand years old when shed died. Just a heads up

I honestly like Khameleon. Ofc she can’t top the other female ninjas but I really like her character even though we barely know anything. I hope to see more of her in the future and to find out more of her story because it really seems interesting. Same goes for her fighting concept. Just like the animal copies it’s surrounding colours,she copies "surrounding” attacks&weapons. She’s my personal favourite female ninja and I am here for it for a story. In mega drive and super nintendo version of mk3 ultimate, unlike saturn's and ps1's version, kitana's kiss of death actually would make your opponent's head swell like a balloon, then they would end up floating upwards until they exploded in the air.

Very accurate tier list With the OG Kitana taking the top spot. Wish NRS would have done more with her character in Mortal Kombat 1. Seeing her as Mileena's Flunky just doesn't sit right with me. They are better as enemies than working side by side. And having a good Tanya is also a bit of a drag. In Mortal Kombat 1 Mileena is now Kitana...bad story telling on the part of NRS ...but I guess they got scared of the weird twitter fans that dont shut up about Mileena, go figure, they made a mess of the story 😶

I'd argue Midway-Frost breaks some female writing trends in media by NOT being wronged by the Lin Kuei and just wanting power like any man would, leaning into her youth as a flaw rather than female characters in media oftentimes having some degree of sympathy...But every woman in MK before her never leaned on sympathy aside from Kitana and Sindel and they were heroes (Midway-Mileena seems sympathetic to us, but she wasn't written with that in mind). One might even argue that she's a blunter version of Tanya, but without as much konnection to Sub-Zero as Tanya gained in Jade in Deception. For me, though, the bit of fleshing out Frost got in Deadly Alliance about her komparative lack of skill and power to Sub-Zero and the tragedy of her squandered potential will always make her kool to me. I might be bold enough to say she's an A, but B feels fair and I definitely wouldn't make her S...She's not ready for the power and will likely freeze herself again, heheheheh!

I think it's interesting how, at least in X, Kitana and Mileena are so correlated that you know that if someone plays one sister they also play the other one. I personally will forever love Kitaleena's play style in MKX. They both are so fun to play, it's not even close. And well, their voice acting is easily the best one they had in the series. And to think that they were supposed to start as just the equivalent of Sub-Zero and Scorpion.

Personally i don't consider Tanya to be a female Ninja. Just an edenian. If Tanya is considered a female ninja, you may as well throw Sindel into the mix. Regardless, i would say this tier list is accurate. I might bump Skarlet down to B tier but that's about it! PS; I think that grey female ninja you see in the background of MK9 is supposed to be Khameleon. I don't think you mentioned her when you were covering Khameleon.

I believe the series wouldnt be were it is without these girls. Kitana and Mileena are the female Sub and Scorp. they're essential staples to the series. I think Skarlet is my personal favorite

I wish Mileena, Kitana, Jade, Khameleon, Skarlet, and Sindel were in every game as main. I like Nitara and Frost too. Probably cause I'm a girl, I gravitate to the females most. Just love playing them and also love reptile, scorpion, & sub zero too though. I just love their first few game outfits best. & love the outfit of kitana when 2 people play together and you get that like silver outfit!

Jade is my favorite so to me she will always be S tier but I respect your list.

Jade has always been at the top for me, definitely one of my all time favorite MK characters. I can completely understand her being ranked below Kitana and Mileena, as those two obviously have a ton going for them, and have been used the most throughout the series. I've always liked that Jade was an important friend to Kitana, but I hope someday they do more to make her shine on her own as I think she has underutilized potential. I really want to talk about Tanya though, as I always find it interesting that she wouldn't be considered a female ninja by some. Over the years I'd say there's been plenty of evidence that point to her inclusion in the category. And if you notice in Mileena's MK1 ladder ending shot, they actually gave Tanya a yellow ninja mask. Even if it's only for one still picture in the whole series, I think it's definitely worth mentioning. Even without a mask, I think there's a lot in Tanya's designs that is indicative of the female ninja look. In MK Armageddon, Khameleon uses one of Tanya's moves along with one from Kitana, Mileena, and Jade. In MK11's Towers of Time mode, in the Gauntlet stage 16 called "Female Ninjas", there is a fight dedicated to Tanya (though represented by a yellow palatte Kitana, as Tanya doesn't appear in MK11). In MK Mobile, there is a pack dedicated to female ninjas, in which Tanya is a part of. On the MK1 select screen, it's not coincidence that the ninja type characters are all grouped in the same row... and Tanya is right there with Kitana and Mileena.

Kitana is the best and most prominent female ninja hands down been my main since UKM 3 , mileena is cool (especially during the Deception era ) and has gotten cooler but Kitana is a beast

See I didn't like Jade and Kotal together. It seemed...random. At least Tanya and Mileena had some build up since MKX, and MK1's Reptile and Asherah was both built in game and they do have some thing in common in that game: being exiled from their people.

Mileena is one of the coolest all time characters, she has a great move set, good design and style. She is also really strong. Does not take much to learn to do a jump kick, juggle the opponent with the roll, and bounce them again with another jump kick. Her teleport owns most cheap shots, can be used against jump kicks and counters other teleports.

Mileena's my favorite female character since Deception. She's the only female character I play in all mk games, Never have I considered on changing female mains on her

How about put other characters in a tier list like Raiden Or those other characters

I mean I guess when you only have like 6 characters you gotta do a long ass backstory for each to fill some time.

Mileena reminds me of Anna Williams from Tekken. They both have the most interesting personalities in their games as well as the best designs and memorable moves (the ones you mentioned for Mileena) and Anna’s cat stance, slaps and stomps. Both developers seem to always make them the jobbers but the fans prefer Mileena and Anna over Kitana and Nina.

For those trying to keep score, has Mileena won any fight she’s been in? Seems like all she takes is L’s.
