I know all about 'stills' due to forgetting to film things...lol, I have the same problem. I also have an issue with leftovers. I have yet to learn how to cook for the 2-3 of us. All my life I have cooked for large numbers (for large read 50-100) even yesterday I made dessert for 40. (At least THAT all got eaten by the folks at the church). I guess we live and learn. I will get there one day. Hopefully this challenge will see a bit of room opening up in the pantry and freezer...not just lots of leftovers.

Hi Kris, I just found your channel with this video popping into my feed. Love your pantry stockpile! All your meals looked fantastic. I've never made potstickers, but I'm planning to make some eggrolls this weekend, so that counts, right? lol. I'm doing the pantry challenge too, and totally identified with your 'no shopping until all fresh produce is used up' guideline. I had to start the pantry challenge with a produce run, but kept it minimal. I'm recently an empty nester, and it sure does change the kitchen/pantry lifestyle. Newly subbed and looking forward to your next video!

Matthew told me about your channel. I will be watching for sure ❤ Most of the time I'm cooking for just me, but when Matthew is home it can be hard to cook for 2 and not have extra. I can cook for 1 or 10 so I always end up with some sort of leftovers 😂 I'm getting better though. Food is too expensive to toss it in the trash. I have a few questions... How do you determine when leftovers are ready to go in the trash? We typically keep leftovers for 3-5 days, depending on the food. Are we tossing food out too soon? Also - why not put leftovers directly into the freezer to help them last longer? I dont do this now but I might start if i have enough extra for a full serving or two.

Glad you found me. ❤️ We do put leftovers in the freezer if we make something like lasagna or a casserole. That food we call freezer meals as we typically put up enough for another dinner later. Most times, we eat leftovers for lunch, so going straight to the freezer doesn't work. We let leftovers go 4-5 days and then pitch. We are still working on portion sizes and making sure we don't make too much. It's a real struggle.
