Not to mention the GRacing is circa half the price. The adjust-ability of the CAE makes it look bulky, but it's one of the reasons it caught my eye. I think it still stands that for a road car it's not so logical, but for my needs it's makes much more sense.

@@Bbeavis I was still shocked at the cost of the GRacing as well, but I can also say when I put it in I thought… oh man I’m not going to like this. But after having it on track and even on the street it is great. One thing about the CAE is man the install looked rough compared to the Gracing. But nothing too crazy overall. Nothing like my mustang which is just done right crazy.

@@Bbeavis the new gt3's are getting really nice, but if they ever go double wishbone/multilink on a gt4 i might just end up homeless sleeping in a racecar.

Interesting, the IRP looked to be a pretty serious shifter, albeit without the reverse lockout it wasn't for me.

@@Bbeavis absolutely agree with you there. I’m still fairly a novice with seat time but it makes sense the issue you’d have with the serious track work you do and at that power level.

Thanks Mark. Seat is an OMP HTE R 400 No cutting is required, but my floor did already have a hole cut to lower it down some 30-50mm.

@@Bbeavis Nice. For our NA / 3uz build currently in progress and the same seat we went 30mm into the tunnel and 30mm down. I struggled (at 6.0' and 110 kg's) with the position on the std floor. Your cars looking and running like a beast, still can't believe you've managed to keep the 6 speed at that power level, well done!!.

As he alluded to in the video, is it "worth it" for you at all? Is it solving a problem you actively want to solve? Then, are you planning to stay 5spd forever? If so, it doesnt matter what trans you have, if its worth it, its worth it. Finally, of you are planning on swapping to a dif trans in the future, hows money for you? If it solves a problem, and its an easy purchase for you financially, of its worth it once, its worth it twice, but im on a tight budget, so im sinking no money into my engine i plan on eventually swapping, i cant afford to make power twice, so im gunna live with what ive got until i can do it once and never touch it again.

Felix, as noncog touched on, I more or less addressed this in the video - that is to say, it's up to you. I don't know your circumstances or use case, I don't know what your budget is or how you drive your car. I've provided as much information as I can, for you to decide for yourself if this shifter works for you. There's certainly a reason why I've not used any other short shifters products on my car before this one.. none of the others offered what this one did for my needs.

I’m sorry my question was not precise enough. I’m 100% certain that I want to run a short shifter and that I want to run the CAE I’m just unsure if it’s with it on a 5 Spd Trans that can’t even handle power

@@slwbys are you planning on upgrading the trans any time soon? Are you making enough power that with poly dif bushings and awr/v8 roadsters/blackbird fab worx/the company that said the engine making too much power was the reason the bushings failed style motor mounts your shifting is still sloppy? Would a trans mount be a better option for you? How often are you blowing through a trans? Would you be just as happy with a miataroadster short shifter? If you plan on just swapping 5 speeds all the time swapping this shifter over would be the easy part of the job, its not like you cant transfer it when you do the trans swap. Do you track your car, do you need mechanical limits on a shifter? Are your dif bushings and motor mounts already sorted?

@@slwbys If you're 5spd is all original, and you havent already spent money making it better, and you're over 150-200whp, then perhaps grab yourself a 6spd first.

I've driven the car at two different tracks now. This shifter is undoubtedly doing a great job of ensuring I get the gear i want. I definitely don't get stuck in the reverse gate no-mans-land. 4-5 and 5-6 shifts are significantly better.

It is from blipshift.com, I have purchased from there WAY too much over the years.

I am an amateur when it comes to lighting and cameras, I think I messed it up a bit when recording this one.
