I know Mazdaspeed3 headlights when I see them. They share the lights with the regular Mazda 3 hatch, except they have that extra bracket in the corners

How does vinyl wrap work on these or is that even an option to use on newer or good shape headlights?

Are you referring to PPF? The protective film people put over their headlights? If that is what you're referring to, when they're in good condition, PPF will absolutely help! It won't do anything though if the headlights are already in similar condition to ours here.

I use a lubricating spray. Not sure why you recommend 50:50 water:Isopropyl Alcohol? I could understand it if you used it at the very end to remove any fine dust/plastic prior to spraying, but to use it as a lubricant to me it does not compute…please explain?

It's to clean and lubricate the surface, wet sanding is wet sanding. Regardless of what you're using to make the surface wet!

2K clear is automotive grade clear coat. It will last for years!

Not 2K Clear :( Worst thing you can put on your headlights. The chipping and flaking you removed was a result of using 2k clear in the first place. Good job on the wet sanding portion! Its such a pain restoring headlights when theyre off the vehicle, so I'm glad to see you powered through it got a it all removed :)

What would you recommend for a clear coat, instead of 2k clear?

@@rob_was_hereDefinitely a certified clearcoat like Maguires clearcoat with added UV protection!! There are many more to choose from? Better than any 2k alternative that can permanently damage polycarbonate lenses!!💩🤔👍

This restoration is way over the top?? First removing the headlights from the vehicle is totally unnecessary and time consuming and moreover something could definitely go wrong!! Leave it where its mounted = more stability!! Second isopropyl 50/50 again unnecessary any glass cleaner spray is all you need reason glass cleaner contains alcohol,Sandpaper grit sizes? Dubious choice as was your methods,The permanent cracking in the headlight in this video demonstration proves how 2k clearcoat should never be used on polycarbonate lenses ever!!! If its not written on the can for vehicle headlights only don't use it!!! A true professional always polish buff headlights before applying the clearcoat, And lastly never fit after market LCD bulbs Halogen bulbs are more efficient and longer lasting and wont overheat the headlight housing which again cause cracks to the polycarbonate lens!!My suggestion to anyone thinking of restoring there own headlights is purchase a 3M restoration kit the instructions are fool proof, Hope of some this information helps you!!!

Can inside the head light glass clear coat spray? I wash inside my head light glass because its dusty but the cloth I use to wash the head light scratches inside the glass it's a eg civic after market projector head light

Can't understand how dust entered the headlight housing as the two half's are sealed together in manufacturing? That said check if the light bulbs have worked loose or have been mounted properly and lastly check for cracks!!🤔👍and No to the question of spraying inside the headlights!!
