No you could have a cut ribbon cable somewhere causing the camera to not work properly. There was one I had and I was trying to take it apart to clean the tape heads and i cut a ribbon cable. After that the tape trey wouldn’t go back into the camera. So it could be something like that.

This camera records at 480p resolution. A good working one will cost usually around $150-$200. And the fisheye lens is $70 on Amazon. And a nice handle will be about $30. Although you can look around on Amazon for cold shoe handles for different styles and prices. And a way I like to recommend people who are just starting out is using a converter by clearclick. They make some that record your footage to an sd card or usb drive. And there are some that hook up to your computer. What camera are you using?

it might be focusing on the fisheye itself instead of past the fisheye

Yes all camcorders have threads for filters and lenses. To know the size you’ll have to look for the millimeter size with the symbol that has the circle with a line through it. Or looking for the specs on google you can usually find the size as well. But I would say almost all of the Sony video 8, hi8, and digital 8 have a 37mm lens thread diameter

Yeah I think jvc was the first company to start that style of camcorder. They do look much thinner. I wonder how long the battery life lasts.🤔 I’ll have to look around and see if I can find one or a similar model because I don’t see any on eBay at the moment

You can only use Sony memory sticks with this. And yes you can only take photos to it. But the Sony pc110 allows you to record to the memory sticks although I don’t recommend because the video quality is very choppy and doesn’t look very good

Yeah I feel like I can usually tell when something is recorded with a phone. It has a certain look to it. That and filming video with a phone just isn’t very fun. Even filming with a dslr or a modern camcorder is more fun than filming with a phone

@@TheSuperiorLite very inconvenient in this day and age and it costs. If you want to use old tech for sake of it at least use mini dvd because it has similar sensors to those of mini dv cameras so you would have the same experience without thr downside

Recording on ur phone makes it die A LOT faster than a camera

@@EliCantSk8 my comment was a joke btw, i dont use my phone for important pictures or video, i use my point and shoot or one of my 3 hd camcorders.

Also nothing wrong with recording on your phone either though. I personally don’t really like the way video looks from phones. You can always just tell when it’s recorded by a phone. But there are companies that make different kinds of lenses for phones that could possibly make your footage look more unique

@@brandoncameracollection The collective majority have chosen to use a phone over a "real" quality camera. I am all for pictures with my phone for stupid stuff but for vacations or special moments, the Point and shoot is my camera.

Oh definitely even just using a real camera is more fun than shooting on a phone. Even if it’s a dslr or a camcorder
