I actually really liked how everyone immediately accepted Viktor. I was watching it with my family, smiling really hard and then said, “this is how it should be”. Why does there need to be conflict? Why should people be off put by it? Oh, you feel like you’re X? Cool. It’s not my place to project my beliefs on you. You are who you are. It’s not anyone else’s decision.

I really like how everyone accepts Viktor. There's zero drama about Vanya becoming Viktor and just moves on.

I think the way the family reacted to Viktor is a normal reaction, they love him and don't really care. Also, I love Sloane and Luther this season, I'm happy they're leaning away from Luther and Allison

How they react to Viktor 100% feels like how these characters would react they do not care about it

Viktor could be bi. Bisexual exist. You don't have to be attracted to one gender only. So there's nothing wrong with Viktor in season one liking another guy.

I'm pretty sure Alphonso/#4 has to like *activate* his power or maybe prepare/brace himself in the moment before getting hit.

First of all about the Ben thing, just wait😊 The actor himself said many people might not like this Ben this season as much but without spoiling anyone they do tackle his reasons a little later on and you do manage to see behind his shell a little. And I think to me at least he became quite a good and way more likeable character in the second half of the season🙋🏼‍♀️ the whole „it doesn’t feel natural“- part will also make more sense as further as you go into the season. And now about the whole Viktor thing, honestly I think they did rush Viktor‘s transition and maybe „underplayed“ it a little on purpose because they don’t want to make a big deal out of it because that’s technically how it should be in real life as well. I think the reaction Viktor got is probably the best someone who’s going through that in real life could wish and hope for. Just acceptance without making a big deal or issue out of it. And it’s also difficult in general to handle a topic like that the right way not only because it’s also the actual actor‘s story but also because a lot of shows and movies have that terrible problem of letting characters come out and then build all their character traits and storylines around that coming out/ sexuality/ gender only and many people are sick of that. They don’t want to be treated like a „big deal“ or get them stereotypes thrown at them (not saying the Umbrella Academy would’ve done that). I think the way they handled it was the best way they could’ve done it for this season and this 10x 45 min format that we have this season or for a show in general where you have that many main characters that you each want to do justice to as well as possible in a limited time.

Honestly I like how the change from Vanya to Viktor feels like it was always the plan in the story of the series. With the journey the character has been on, if you really look back at certain moments, it was there. It's all paying attention to key details

I just think Number 2s have a bit of a complex, the way Ben acts here compared to how Diego acted in season 1 is kind of similar.

i completely disagree with everything you guys said viktor. dating a man in season 1 doesn't mean or change anything with his gender, and we did not need a longer self discovery process not only bc i don't want to spend any longer than we have to watching this character get misgendered and deadnamed, but also bc that's literally what we got last season. season 2 was viktor self discovery arc. i feel like they managed to make that story fit really really well with viktors coming out this season, it makes a lot of sense and flows really well almost as if it was always the plan. i also understand wanting a longer adjustment period bc it was very quick with the brothers, but to be honest i think it fit really well with how these characters would react to that, bc they love him but they're also not as close with him as allison is. so allison and viktor getting that scene together made the most sense. also i know this is a few weeks old now but just for clarity (and for anyone reading this) referring to a trans persons old name, no matter what context, is deadnaming. viktor is viktor and this is who he has always been. when referring to him in past seasons u should be using his correct name and pronouns (viktor, he/him). i understand the confusion but this is important bc it's the same with trans people in real life, referring to a trans person before they transitioned as they're old name and pronouns would be a very shitty thing to do.

I think with #4 on sparrow academy his powers only work like when he’s expecting the blow and where he’s expecting the blow. It’s not Konstant but only when he chooses

Is it me or Luther's actor is showing more of his British accent? He sounds way less American this season for some reason.

I guess Ben is so rude and rough in this timeline because he's still alive. In the main timeline, Ben died when he was 17 when he was caring and selfless. In this timeline, like I said he's rude

I love how Viktor is welcomed, and there’s not a huge fuss about it. It feels natural in that way, I think. I don’t think this is a spoiler, but I also wonder about Ben and I have a theory. I wonder if the mission where he died in the original timeline still happened, but here he survived and it changed him and how he acts.

11:35 Previously you couldn't have a beard in war because of needing to wear a gas mask but they could keep the mustache so just having a mustache became synonymous with military uniform and service. The Amish grew their beards but cut the mustache to separate themselves from that.

The only thing I disliked about this season is allison. I get she lost her daughter and husband but damn, everyone in the umbrella academy lost someone or something in the last 2 seasons. I guess they just ran out of ideas for her character 🤷🏽‍♂️

I think the whole thing with Victor was pretty quick too but I'm fine with it. I figure they have a story they want to tell in 10 episodes and that's not a Vanya slowly realising they're actually Victor story. Everyone (in the real world) knew it was going to happen anyway so they just got it done and now can move on with the actual plot they want to cover with the season instead of dedicating a bunch of time to a sub plot everyone knows the outcome for!

Allison is literally an actress who has starred in movies... and yet she acts like she's never seen any movie involving time XD no shit your kid is not going to exist.

I went through the comments, but didn't see this. The day Sissy died, Oct. 1st, 1989 was the day that the special children were all born, or as we know now, not born. So, I fully suspect to see more of that Sissy story line, especially if that guy is in fact Harlan.

I thought he was the surviving Sweed and wanted revenge on Allison for make him kill his brother, so he was wearing headphones so he couldn’t be rumoured

I mean I know I'm 2 years late but seeing Aaron so mad at Allison thinking Claire is alive is jarring. I personally feel like that is a realistic response. Time travel just isn't a normal thing people go through and having lost a child. If you think you are returning to a world with them. Despite all logic, she will be thinking that Claire exists. I don't think logic is necessary in the way she feels and everything about that to me makes sense. Aaron said in the ep 1 reaction we are all ahead of the characters and that's annoying but I don't think we are here. She is just blinded by grief and believes her leaving her husband in the 60s was to meet with Claire again. Not to mention she is probably so distant to all the time travel logic really. Other than being sent back to the 60s, she isn't much in the know of the commission and how timelines work really. We all know exactly how time travel would theoretically work because we love sci-fi, but I think it is a little naive to assume she also would have that knowledge for definite.

I think this season they took inspiration from The Boys. They're dropping F bombs, scenes are more graphic. I love it

Jake Epstein is the one who plays Alfonso #4 of the Sparrows. He plays Craig Manning from Degrassi and it’s currently on HBOMAX. I grew up watching it and it’s great. If you get a chance to look into it.

I’m not much on binging. It’s usually pretty unsatisfying afterwards when I do, so I’m trying to limit myself to just 1 or 2 episodes per day. Watching these reactions in between helps me to pace myself. Now I just have to figure out if I’m only watching these episodes so I can watch the reactions. 😉 Hopefully upcoming episodes will explain Alphonso’s powers a little more clearly. Did you notice that Sissy also died on the same day (Oct. 1, 1989) as their mothers? I noticed something was up when they started with the Sparrow Academy intro and the voiceover said something like 15 or 16 women gave birth… I said to myself, I thought it was more than that. I went back to check the Umbrella Academy intro voiceover (from s1 ep 1) and sure enough, it said 40+ women gave birth… With upwards of 30 people no longer existing from 1989-2019 (who previously had) you’d think there’d be more changes in the world they returned to. Heck, it seems like Allison’s husband even married someone else who just happened to give birth to a girl around the same time Allison originally did. Not only that, he apparently moved into the same house he & Allison moved into in the original timeline.

two things: 1. They're gonna be forever displaced from a timeline all their own unless they find a way to catch up to the time. 2. why was mom still a thing if Vanya was the reason she existed to begin with?

I love this season, but I really wish they had Fei be the one that Luther likes instead. Personally, I prefer no romance and just focus on story and characters, but if they have to push a romance, why not make it interesting, complex, and different? Sloan is the most Mary Sue out of all Mary Sue. She has zero imperfection in her looks and personality.

I loved luther this season. I hated him in season 2 and season 1 but this season allison has earned my hate. Love the show as a whole tho

I'm gonna get a lot of hate but imma say it I don't have any problem with Elliot in any way, whatever he's doing in his life it's his choice but the way Vanya's character became Viktor it felt really out of place and rushed to me if they wanted to represent Elliot's transitioning I have much better idea The Vanya of this newly created timeline could've been Viktor and it would've been good representation and also it wouldn't have changed the real Vanya's character and the story too much, I'm not mad I still love the show but that felt very rushed and out of nowhere.
