BTS Park Jimin is known for his dancing, singing, and incredible stage presence. But he is not the first in mind when it comes to athleticism. The truth is that Park Jimin is a naturally gifted athlete. There are those who work for their skill, Park Jimin has it naturally.
Great athletes and trainers will tell you how hard work can make you a great athlete but you need to have a combination of natural raw talent and hard work to become a legendary one. Our Park Jimin was blessed to have the raw athleticism. Although, of course, he chose to become an artist and we love him for it. I am convinced, however, that if he chose to become an athlete, he would have been one of the legendary ones. BUT we are happy that he chose to do what he is doing now. He is obviously excelling and, more importantly, happy with his choice.
This is just meant to highlight his athleticism and how humble he is about it. Park Jimin prefers entertaining over competing. In fact, he would often sacrifice guaranteed victories in favor of more comedic moments. He has such a pure heart.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Jimin is yet to disclose his official rank in Kendo. Based on Kendo's rules, you have to be at least 14 years old to become 1Shodan which is equivalent to a blackbelt 1st Dan. He never said exactly what age he started practicing Kendo but he did say he practiced it for 7-8 years. I am estimating that if he was at least 14 when he stopped, he would have been AT LEAST 1Shodan. That is just MY ESTIMATE, not confirmed information.

Totally agree, it is clearly shown in run bts that he is content with just having fun with the members. However externally (outside bts) you can tell he s very competitive.

as a former track runner, i can say that jimin’s ability to lean into the curve and still have so much control over his body is seriously insane. it’s so hard not to fall behind the other racers during that part of the track.

Facts. I was used to be a track runner and it was really hard for me to maintain my posture, balance and speed when running into the curve.... but jimin did it smoothly

He is the strongest one in the group both mentally and physically. He studied martial arts ,also kendo taekwondo etc and all these arts train the individual to be self disciplined , mind controlled , to be brave hearted , be genuine and kind most importantly always respect opponents and consider everyone as equal in competition. I know Jimin protrude these qualities without showing off. For eg : acting cute or being weak in front of camera (if you say so ) jm knows appearing like that is not a threat to his power. He usually do that with jungkook but that is only to boost jungkooks confidence. his opinion abt tae and jin argument saying both of them are not right in the middle of fight . Let's take leader namjoon how he respect Jimin so much , in festa 2019 jm said how he had a long hours of conversation with rm for him monitoring bts too much etc. JIMIN is a multi layered person which is a very very good thing . He doesn't show any of his private life but still share deep connection with armys And his performance stage presence that God gifted voice... Speechless !! Bts frontman they said ... Well said

And Namjoon said: he is the most mainly and mature. Like a grand pa sometimes. But his persona in BTS don't fit with the true Jimin : sports, dancing,singing with his unique voice,study etc... He is very good at everything... Many army don't know Jimin, and like to think he is weak, just bubbly personnality, funny, cute baby or unlucky with games, love to feminise him ou he need protection, this guy can kick off his bodyguards, if he wants, his legs are very powerful, no need to be super muscular... Please, Jimin is a diamond and very smart with charisma, talent and hardworking...

Jimin is the best and is actually the most athletic of the group. The way Jimin can pull off any choreography, move and stunt flawlessly with not just power but with control, grace and smoothness is mind-boggling. If Jimin wasn't so humble and actually took games seriously, he would dominate. Just watch "Rookie King" episodes. Jimin almost always prevails in every challenge. Jimin is such a talent goldmine.

Everyone talks about jungkook the golden maknae and i absolutely agree but sometimes i feel like jimin who has incredibly athletic qualities let him win and so does tae who has brilliant hand eye coordination. Jimin is actually highly underestimated even when it comes to singing and dance. Its because he is not about showing the most powerful face he is more like the constant rock solid inner foundation in bts

When he wins, he laughs at the others, when he loses, everyone consoles him, he sulks, limits cries, gets angry at the others it's group game, face closed, death stare... However, I will never forget my shock in the Virtual Reality episode 81 when they had to go up a skyscraper and take cake pieces to the elevator. JK called Jimin an idiot when Jimin leapt off the beam to freefall to the ground. I def felt JK crossed the line and was very disappointed. 😢 *EDIT: ARMY below pointed out that it was ACTUALLY SUGA-hyung who said it to Jimin and not JK, which changes everything (captions were a bit confusing)! Now it's funny.* To me JK has given up the most of his childhood to be an idol. I can see why he really likes to get into the games. Again, I think he IS maturing and thankfully he is putting less pressure on himself to live up to fans' expectation of being perfect. The nickname Golden Maknae can be a double-edged sword. 💜

Many write here how Jimin often loses in Run and that this doesn't match with his skills. Well, the thing is - Run and Bon Voyage are group concepts. That's why Jimin is often reserved and even encourages others to be more active. He doesn't have to prove anything here, and it's not desired that he switches to competitive mode. Something completely different is when the group as such is competing against others - Jimin suddenly becomes 🔥 and very enthusiastic and we can always see how happy the others are to have him on the team🙂

IKR I mean JK can draw amazingly! I don’t think he gets enough attention for that! And Suga and Namjoon can actually song pretty well too! And being a black white belt (passed white through red black belt and training for black belt) it is truly one of the most difficult things I have ever accomplished! I can’t wait for black belt! My testing is soon I think in the fall or winter sometime this year! Black belt is joke. Testing is not just about your strength but it’s also about discipline and hard work and proving your skills to be used not to pick fights but for self defense if you get in a bad situation. Not to mention it’s stressful and time consuming and intimidating. I have watched 2 black belt testings before at my karate class and in both of the people cried. But they passed. I just wanted wanted to go hug them. Especially when my best friend Alex texted. He SOBBED but when it was over he was the happiest I had ever seen him! Anyways basically what I’m trying to say is Jimin is NO JOKE. If he has to he could beat you up with his pinky finger. And believe me when I say that I have seen my karate master break the black board with his pinky finger. It’s not about strength it’s about your technique. Sorry this comment has no purpose other than I really respect the hard work Jimin and all other black belts put in to actually get their black belts.

I figured he had to be doing more than just dancing and singing. I’m a casual BTS fan in some of his dances he’s moving fast as hell and balancing very well. That sort of combo is something you see in a lot of people that have a bit of athleticism to them.

As a former dancer, Jimin caught my attention (& bias) instantly. He is the epitome of male dancer (partly due to his athleticism). He is graceful, exciting and powerful. As you say, naturally gifted, with a body that takes perfect form in any position. But he also works very hard to have that - you don't walk into a gym and know what he does. He's an alien from another planet.

Jimin had the shortest training (in bighit) in BTS and yet he managed to secure a spot to be in the group as main dancer and lead singer because he came in prepared with all his training in his hometown be it in modern dancing, popping, martial art, sports and so many more talents that maybe we haven't even seen yet. Bighit did win a jackpot with Jimin despite joining the group late.

Watching the RUN BTS episodes he’s pretty much as competitive as JK, but he also knows his role and acts cute, funny and bad sometimes to make the content more funny. He also seem to really dislike when things are unfair or when there’s too much bullsh*t. Then he just “gives up” and spends his energy being cute and funny.

Yeah i saw that in a run bts episode where Jin stole his puzzle pieces, he ran after Jin and threw away the puzzles Jin stole from him while saying "i give up". He doesn't like it when there's cheating and backstabbing like in the case of V where in V put a sticker on Jimin all the while Jimin thinks it's Jin who is after him, poor guy, good thing its just a game or else he could have manhandled his 2 brothers😅😂😅

Jimin can win a lot of sports and use his many hidden talents but he rarely shows it..whenever i watch bts run episodes, i get so frustrated because i can see jimin is not giving it all..but then i realise it’s not about winning, it’s about bringing a smile or a laugh..as someone who really likes jimin, i want him to show everyone how much he has in store..he’s underestimated a lot..

Jungkook is a very competitive member. If even Jimin does so, the atmosphere can't be good. Jimin is a humble and considerate person. Regardless of winning or losing, I think he is doing a good job for a good entertainment show. Also I think the company is making Jimin's concept into a small, weak, cute, and soft image.

@MariRM I think a lot of Jimin's unhappiness in the early years was being cast as that "tough guy/bad boy," which required showing off his arms and abs and constant workouts to maintain muscle mass. He knew he was so much more--he was the top student in contemporary dance at his SOPA for gosh sakes, and he had to bury that part of himself for a while. Happily for Jimin, he is growing into the person he truly wants to be. I think he has purposefully "re-shaped" his body to be leaner and sleeker in order to achieve beautiful body lines and fluidity when dancing, especially the contemporary dance he is showcasing more and more of late. But as we can see throughout 2019 performances, he can still do all his amazing jumps, kicks, and aerials. 💜

@@e0n555 Idk, he's lost baby fat in the face, but his body has always been very lean and narrow since debut, I don't think it's changed that much. And he still has his abs and thick thighs. I think people remember him as bulkier because other members were thinner and less broad back then, so he looked bigger in comparison.

@@AllWordsAreDust Jimin's biceps and thighs have definitely been more massive in the past, esp from when he had to rip off his tank top at MAMA 2014 dance battle thru I Need U era. Jimin's arms and legs now are much sleeker like his friend Taemin from SHINee, who has always been praised for fluid movements and beautiful body lines. A dancer can consciously "RE-SHAPE" their body to achieve a certain outcome (kind of scary and obviously takes grueling discipline). Below is a link to a video where Jimin's high school dance teacher said the following: "During the classes, Jimin would ask "Teacher, how do you do this move? And what about this move?" and I would reply to him that by doing such moves, certain parts of your body will develop more muscles. Then he would come to see me the next day and tell me, "Teacher, I practiced this move many times and now my muscles have developed prettily!" He would take his shirt off to prove this." This dance teacher shared that iconic video of Jimin's dance from his FIRST YEAR in high school. Jimin's everything is well balanced. Usually, when some parts are outstanding, others are often lacking, but Jimin's well developed in a balanced everything. Very few people are so well-balanced. He enter the high school as the Top student among not only dance major but whole students . He's high school is within top 5 in Korea among arts school. studied well -especially math and science. good at sports (good balance,flexibility, concentration). has Black belt in Taekwondo. learned 8 years kendo etc. good at arts. got great empathy. got leadership-9years class president. speaking with sincerity. always humble. well mannered. spent just for 6 month as an idol trainee. made his debut as a lead vocalist and main dancer in a very short period. puts everything into his goal. Everything is perfect, Jimin.

Thank you for a beautiful video. I believe, for him, it doesn't make sense to win against his close friends and family. He's got nothing to prove in that respect. It makes more sense for him to simply improve with every attempts. You can see that in his progressions with his singing, dancing, producing, song writing, etc. He's very inspiring, to me. However, if it's against someone else outside his friends/family zone, it's no holds barred; example: his relay races in ISAC competitions.

I totally agree! I was going to say that exact same thing. When he is competing WITH BTS, he puts everything on the line. But when he is competing AGAINST BTS, he is content to just have fund with the members and entertain the ARMY

I remember when somebody replied to me in another jimin video that Jimin is bad at games and he only wins because Jk lets him (out of pity coz jm a sore loser idk) and I was like are we watching the same bts shows and talking about the same bts members? I mean just watching run bts in multiple occasions Jimin was stellar in various fields (various sports, drawing, calligraphy etc) and a quick learner (pottery, coffee making technique/art, etc). I mean he learned geumdo, taekwondo, a bit of hapkido, a consistent scholar, a top student for dance, obviously he's a very capable man, the major flaw he have is when his shitty luck strikes when playing games lol

It's the narrative of big hit, they show Jimin like that, a looser, unlucky, changes the rules when Jimin win a game, give others chances to other members etc... I hate run episodes now, I know who will lose 9 times out of 10

And despite being shy with people he doesn't know, Jimin is pretty greedy for the camera and attention. Win or lose, Jimin 99% steals the show and has the most memorable scenes. He is an entertainment genius. 😂 💜

The first runners have a lot of pressure to start well so their relay team can take the inner lanes. Jimin is the go-to man under pressure, he never shies away. You can see in many BTS videos where he is the ACE who always pulls off the win for the team (ex. food toss, soccer ball-lifting, bottle cap, alkkagi, gonggi). And of course in BTS choreos, he executes all the show-stopping kicks, jumps, and aerials. As someone has said, he is a talent goldmine. 💜

Some people just have really good body control and athleticism and Jimin is one of those. He also is very single minded on tasks and self contained, so he doesn't compete with other people. He competes with himself and makes himself better. This has the bad side effect of never being happy with yourself because you always *know* you can do better. That's why he is such a good performer and always getting better, but the mental strain he puts on himself makes me sad.

Is it wrong of me to say this but i sometimes feel like its even more special how only bts and jimin fans would know about some of his special hidden talents, it makes it even more special. I like that its not right in the face fact about jimin, like you really need to dig out about him to know certain perks about him. It makes liking him even more special.

Jimin participated in sports and martial arts that teach you self discipline, focus, love, respect and a sense of equalness with your competition/ opponent. Jimin is called the scariest member when angry, but it’s probably not because he’s short or knows martial arts, but because he’s a person who knows all these disciplines and yet there are things that can still make him snap

Agreed....He has a huge heart and sweet disposition, but I have no doubt in my mind that if someone was physically hurting or attempting to someone Jimin cared about, the other side of Jimin would come out and I am sure he could handle the situation. He thinks well on his feet, has the ability and training and seems very strong both physically and mentally..I would feel sorry for the person/persons who tried to hurt Jimin or someone close to him..It wouldnt be pretty, it would be intense, quick, thourogh , with total focus...

Thank you for making this video. For a while now, I’ve been feeling like Jimin was being overlooked and undervalued but I’m feeling differently now after watching this video. I am a HUGE fan of Park Jimin. I have even more respect for this man now than ever before. It really annoyed me at first that it seemed like Jimin was being pushed into the background and JK was being pushed into the spotlight but now I’m wondering if Jimin is purposely stepping back so that the JK can shine. We all know for a fact that JK is Jimin’s copycat. And I want to acknowledge JK’s athleticism and strength. When it comes to sports, he gives Jimin a run for his money, he’s so talented. He’s also a great singer; I love his solo song “Euphoria.” When I watched them playing games, Jimin always seemed to be losing and I wondered why he wasn’t more competitive like the others and trying harder to win. Now, I understand. I think, if it’s about individual competition, it’s not important for him to win as it may be for the others but when it comes to team sports, then he will pull out all the stops to help his team win. It seems it’s more important to Jimin for the team to have fun and for the shows to be fun to watch for their audience. He sort of reminds me of the class clown. I wonder if he’s hiding a lot of his talent so that the other members can shine? He seems to always put the other members before himself. I love these videos about Jimin. In my opinion, Jimin is the “hook” for BTS. All the members make BTS great but Jimin makes the group stand apart from the rest of the boy bands. He helps to give BTS their unique sound and look. Have you seen him dance blindfolded? It was at an awards show. It was the Boy Meets Evil intro and he was dancing with JHope. It was sick!

I've always said that they are incredible athletes. Jimin is just one if those athletes that can do just about anything. His body is meant for it. And I'm not even a BTS fan I just have mad respect for these guys.

Jimminie Chim Chim is all about strength, fluidity and grace. With his background (dance and sports), I believe he mastered the discipline of commanding his body exactly what to do and his upper torso and lower torso have their own amazing strengths separately. jimin is very competitive but he wants to have more fun so everybody does also. he is not into winning but to enjoy the episodes. even losing is no big deal with jimin bc he doesnt give his all. people hardly give recognition to jimin even though he has contributed a lot like in the ISAC where he was the first runner. for me to jimin, its about time that he should make a mark for himself. focus more to himself and build the self confidence he humbly shied away bc he wants all members to be equally known. proud of all BTS members and please continue to support each other with respect and compassion.

Whenever there is a group or a team, there is something called "normalization". For the greater good and for the longevity of the team/group, the group head or in this case the agency tries not to highlight one person as excellent in everything. If we were truly fair and objective, Jimin is naturally talented in everything - esp which ever activity needs stamina. He is someone who has to manage the most difficult steps while performing and simultaneously singing (im not saying others dont - but if you carefully watch the videos, you can understand what im talking about), and his athleticism in many instances as shown in these videos are proof by itself. Now, imagine how it would look if he is highlighted as the best in everything while some of the members are not so (no hate to any of them). Hence Hybe and the editors have a way wherein which they highlight (esp in subtitles) only what they want ARMY to take notice. If you are a true ARMY you will obviously notice everything but many of the "young" fandom look only at what they are told to look at. This happens even in corporate companies - ive been working in an international MNC for last 14 years and trust me, i know what im talking about - the best achievers are sometimes "normalized" to make the team look good. Now the second part is how HYBE wants the overall group narrative/ persona to be- this is clear in the umpteen videos/content/runbts/behind the scenes that Bangtan releases - how many times will they reiterate that Jin is oldest, JK is golden maknae etc??. Hybe wants to maintain this narrative for some reason best known for themselves that - best singer is JK, best dancer is JH, best athlete - no one talks about this cos they want to maintain Jimin as "cute Jimin" and athleticism and cute dont go hand in hand. He is, based on observation, in general ok with not being hyper competitive and just goes with the flow, sometimes tries to make these attempts funny, sometimes gives up for others etc. Im just stating how Hybe has spun the narrative and most of ARMY goes by what they have been fed.. cos majority of the ARMY are school-college going. Once you grow up, you realize these are all part of the narratives/persona's fed to you. However be it any age, if you carefully view their concerts, you'll see for yourself. Didnot realize my comment became so long! hehe.. I love Jimin and glad to see him so fit. Hope he continues to be the best version of himself wherever he goes... Lots of love and hugs

I bet he's 1/3 natural athletic, 1/3 competitive, and 1/3 dedicated to perfection. He clearly worked hard to perfect pinpoint kicking, black belt, and those high butterfly kicks. He also said he had to work hard to transfer from formal modern dance (excelled of course) to hip hop, street dance. He has the perfect combination of strength, grace & perfection that makes him such an exciting dancer to watch.

What I like about Jimin is his practical and sweet thinking. He's also the most athletic out of the group. Its a good thing that videos like this reminds us that jimin has a lot more to showcase and needs showcasing, than just singing and dancing. Hopefully future run bts eps (or any bh/bts contents) would show us more of the boys' other talents.

Jimin is really talented considering he has learnt Kendo, Taekwondo(black belt), Chinese martial arts and Hapkido. He was also offered a scholarship in China for his excellent performance in Chinese martial arts. He was class president for 9 years and a valedictorian (excelled in Math and Science) in his pre-debut years. He also learnt popping and locking before getting into Contemporary (modern) dance at Busan Arts highschool. He has been a member of Football, Billiards, and Robotics club during his school years. Now, he graduated with honors in Broadcasting and entertainment from Global Cyber University together with Taehyung and currently he is enrolled for MBA(Masters of Business Administration) at Hanyang Cyber University 😊His achievements throughout the years are endless 💜
