I have not made my CBG yet, but I shall soon. I have a little guitar, ukulele, experience and have put together a few kits-ukulele, mt. dulcimer and strumbley. You are a Godsend sir. Thank you so much for this helpful info along with the build info. Your site is one I visit frequently and I have never been disappointed. This is the fabric from which I shall weave many fond memories. I appreciate your generous sharing.

Your comment was made a year ago ...if you stuck with the cigar box ... You should be close to being a pro 😁...you sub this talent guy and uncle mark between the both of these pros ...you will be one too

Del, this is terrific! I'm just getting started with CBGs. I've been plowing through all of your videos, learning a great deal. I find that I'm fascinated by the underlying music theory, and how it can help me play. Please keep these type of videos coming. Much appreciated!

Thanks Del - that's great info. I still have a long ways to go and I really appreciate you putting out great advice. BTW - I still start most of my practices with the paradiddle exercise you showed me.

Thank you so much Del for the video. It was very helpful. I will have to subscribe to your channel because I am just getting into CBG playing. Have a four string on order from a builder in Ohio and am eager to get started.

Del fantastic work as always, do you have your "Just Intonation" and "Just Tempered" fret locations for sale as a template or as measurements?

I confused, again! You were showing us more/different chords than was on your sheets, which I have laid out on a sheet of paper....huhLove your videos!!!!
@PuckettCigarBoxGuitar7 жыл бұрын
doggylv the chord diagrams are just the notes... You can combine any combination of these note and they will work... So technically there are more "chords" available than I demonstrated ...

Song example of these chords: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pbWcd8io1anKioU.html It's usually written with Roman numerals as I-V-vi-IV (the lowercase indicates that it's minor): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I%E2%80%93V%E2%80%93vi%E2%80%93IV_progression

Is there a chart somewhere that shows the different ways how to make each chord? I screenshotted the video when you held up each piece of paper but If there’s some charts, that may help me too!

Eric M. Until then ... just pause the video and draw the diagram ... Then memorize the pattern... It's moveable

@@PuckettCigarBoxGuitar Well a 6 String version could be a neat one. Why don't we go to a new level like a 4 string CBG, then the 5 string, & finally a fresh 6 string.

Heres a another 1 chord, heres another 5 chord etc, etc. Uhhhh, u lost me there. Was expecting easy, but not so much
@PuckettCigarBoxGuitar7 жыл бұрын
Wade N revisit... try to understand. its not really difficult. pause on the diagrams. then place your fingers where the dots are. these are the notes of the particular chord. you have many options... and that should make it easy. any combination of the notes will also work. don't throw in the towel quite yet :-)
@waden4047 жыл бұрын
So confusing. Sorry, just cant wrap my head around it. Minor this, major that, pentatonic this....smokes my brain.
@PuckettCigarBoxGuitar7 жыл бұрын
Wade N this is the basic stuff - I can get 'real confusing' when i start delving into jazz :-)
