Downtown by the statiums should be a party district: bars, night clubs, etc, gives something for peoole to do outside of the games, especially if you're going to turn the beach front into more of a recreational/tourist area.

Idea on the tracks - if you'd do a tunnel that eventually links to the airport, basically creating an express line to it. It could have a special train that travels superfast but higher cost to ride. We have that in Stockholm (see Arlanda Express).

I thought the law school looked really cool nestled in the hill where you almost placed it. My undergrad university had a law school and it was on the opposite side of the main road from the main campus because it IS a somewhat separate entity and it meant the law students had their own space (the vet school I go do is set up similarly toward the edge of campus - own space and easier for clients to access when they bring in pets). I think the medical school (when you unlock it) would make more sense by the shops with that big parking lot because you'd have patients coming in and that's a more public type of area :D The school of science would make more sense where the law school is because those schools tend to have a mix of undergrad and graduate level students. But I may be overthinking the realism aspect lol

I think making the mansion hill a park with hiking trails is a great idea. Could get some lookouts over the sea.

Hey, it’s me, the commenter you were hearing in your head. In my opinion, the fake track is way too big and taking up useful space. I would rather see all the main buildings in the campus area and maybe a remote sports area in the residential zone next to it or the area over the bridge.

Old Mansion Hill could be one of those “Little Mongolia” or “Little Zurich” cultural neighborhoods with its own theme.

There was an old suggestion to honor the Lone Tree that stands in the middle of the campus area. I feel it needs it's own plaza

No, thank YOU for letting us all hang out and watch this city come to life with you! This is by far my favorite city you've done yet (no shade to the others of course but this one's something special) and I really love the combo of functionality and aesthetic detail, I think you've hit the perfect balance between the two. Also, I would love to see timelapses of all the little details like the intersections and the building placement. It would be fun to have some mini or side episodes (like 17.5 or something) if you didn't want to take up space in a "main" episode. Even if there's no voiceover and it just has some chill music or something, I would totally watch it.

Yeaaaah, I think you need a metro system. Loving the city though and yay on uni! You can also spread a campus park area to multiple parts of the map that aren't connected. Biffa has this on a few of his vids but basically you can draw a line out of the main campus area to wherever else you want it, flesh that out, and then delete the connecting line. The two blobs of campus area are part of the same uni and so you can put different buildings in different parts of the city which is something many real life unis do. And may help you with space issues.

Can we have a ferry and a tram bridge that cross the river to the “West” Campus. I would love to take a trolley to class!

I don't know if someone already said it, but the map of this city, Santos, is a map based on the real city Santos, which is on the coast of the state of São Paulo in Brazil! And another interesting detail, this city is the home of Santos F.C., the team brought names like Neymar and Pelé to the world of soccer

My suggestion is to flip the Law School Building so when you look at the front, you see the hills on the back and its framed more nicely. Also because we always see it from that angle.

I have a suggetion for improving your cycling/pedestrian network. Build a bycicle/foot path from Primrose Hills (near the green footbridge) across the river to Hawthorn District, via the island in the middle. Later, this can be extended to Downtown/Central Station at one end and the university at the other end. Your inhabitants will love this and it would also ease congestion on the two road bridges.

Observation or large telescope on the hill part would good great also instead of mansions. And maybe a train straight tunnel to the university to connect to the downtown core

Think the 2 districts separated by the highway looks amazing and has come together nicely. The transition from it to the downtown flows great and reminds me a lot of where I live.

Also move like 3 dorms into a lil section to the left where the basketball court and houses currently reside! my campus (Cal State Fullerton) has had 3 dorms surrounding a quad with the cafeteria on the fourth side and I always found it charming and convenient!

For your mountain, you could do something like Montreal! Montreal downtown is around Mont Royal (in the name of the city) it is a park and a vewing deck for the downtown, and it is sooo popular

I'm pretty sure to increase attractiveness to the University you can add the varsity sport arenas! Maybe you can place a couple in that residential area you included in the campus grounds

To free up some space for other buildings on the main campus, what about having the professional schools like Law and Medicine on a separate campus in Spruce Heights?

Ive been waiting for this university for like 4 episodes, now finally its here!!! James, I think it would be super cool if you use all those realistic department stores and make like a huge mall, it would bring in tourists and more commercial. You can make it like a outdoor mall and have a bunch of pathways connecting and parking lots, I think it would look awesome especially since you'll be designing it. Also another suggestion is to have a historical mansion and make it into a national park either on the hills where the mansions use to be or maybe In the middle of the island would be fun and could ass some story to it. Love this series and cnant wait for more!!!

The area on the other side of the university (Spruce Heights), across the river, (where you might expand the uni to) would also make a great upscale neighborhood. Close to the city and the suburbs, the university, waterfront.

That one sad tree stood where the University was to go for ever. So should name it after it, like One Tree University or after a tree like, Oak or Red wood ect ect.

Something that could be interesting is a cable car running from near the stadium area, across the hills to make a stop near the fortress, and then crossing the water to the small peninsula opposite.

Yo Semaj, this is coming along so nicely!! 😊 Just a heads up that you're gonna need a LOT more space for your Uni if you want to get it to level 5. I'd suggest setting aside a bunch more space in a nearby area, and linking them with your University District. You can have the same University dotted all over the city if it's part of the same district, if that makes sense 😊👍

I'm thinking that adding the beach-side stadiums to the university campus area will really help out with meeting the attractiveness goals.

The Denver, Colorado RTD system always has trains and busses that pass by stops that are marked with "Out of service" or "Not in Service". They are reorganizing the vehicles they have, so not so odd. Not out here at least.

I love seeing all of your custom intersections. Can you build some of them on camera? I'd love to hear your thought processes and mistakes. I also love that you're getting larger tram and bus vehicles from the workshop instead of just doing metro. Seeing the above ground vehicles adds so much to the city life. Great series!

Definitely put the bigger faculties outside of the main campus along with dormitories as well. As for the main campus, it could be home to smaller faculties, dormitories, auditorium, etc.

I think a ferry should go to the colerige park area instead of only bedford.

In regards to your campus size, you can always do what Biffa does, draw lines of campus out to "satiate" campuses then erase the line.

Consider putting the university medical school beside the big hospital away from the campus! Also it would be cool if you called you university "Knob University" as a reference to your first CS series. Love how the city is coming along btw.

A few mom-and-pop-esque shops as a small commercial area on campus could be nice. For instance, a little convenience store, book shop, café, etc.

If you want university attractiveness, drag your uni region over your sports stadiums for the varsity sport stuff :) Loving the series!

Loving this series! Maybe for that intersection with all the sliplanes that goes underneath the rails from previous episode, use tunnels instead of bridge. I think it would look better and more realistic than a bridge going underneath a rail bridge!

You could put the outdoor study area to the side by the public library in that blank space so it doesn’t take up room for buildings. Just a thought. 🙂🙂

The school of law is so big (and would be very important to a campus), maybe face it towards that side entrance and make it a secondary main entrance.

I thinks it would be nice with a subway station behind the “soccer” station, one in the university and one in the first main city, and som more stops ofc.

I think putting a dorm or two in the more residential area makes sense to me. It's what happens around our uni where I live, and the school of medicine is attached to our hospital. The campus area is science, law, library kind of things

You could drag the zoning of the campus with a zoning line to an area you wanna expand the campus to and then cut it off to make it like a “remote part” of the university

I think you should add a ferry stop next to the terminus of your new tram line in Coleridge Park (it'd also be good for commuting to the elementary school + to the park you were mentioning doing at the begining) and maybe one on the island in the middle? maybe you could put a unique building or something special? idk, just a suggestion!

I adore this playthrough, so thank you for bring us along while you play! I do love the spaces your place rather then zone - they just seems to have more personality and charm!! If you are going to keep that side section as part of the University, I would totally move the Gymnasium over by the soccer field. I do love that details and effort you put into the new section of residental - can't wait to see Bedford evolve, but I hope it keeps its little subburbs charm!!!

idea on the hills ( Ex-Mansion place) could be in the future a nice place for an observatory or a unique museum of sort maybe a lab for research or a college of art or just some big statue or monument ...

I wanna say, I've really gotten into Cities: Skylines content on youtube lately. a lot of CPP, some YUMBL, you know. But the city you're buinding here feels incredibly... real. Human. Like, you could believe this would be a real place. CPP's seems... overengineered, almost clinical in its approach, but this? I can entirely imagine walking every street in this city. Genuinely, you're an incredible player and commentator, with an incredibly talented eye for details. Keep up the great work!

Hill idea, clear it, make it a park, add a massive radio tower on the top of it for pure astetics, alternatively make a Hollywood esque sign up their

grab a track and field asset from the workshop for the track 29:30 draw roads around it Also i think the reason why the fence didn't edge the road all the way around is cause the road is thinner on that side, your idea worked, you just need to consider the road thickness and only do the parrel thing on roads of the same thickness in one go.

On that hill can you do a mansion/Palace and some gardens? Or some ruins of a cathedral or similar. Old Hill top Fort maybe? Seems perfect for it given the river and sea being so close for an older city.

I think a park/hiking trails is definitely the way to go for that hill. Perhaps since the hill is so close to the main part of the city it could kinda be like a heritage site with a bunch of older historical looking properties from the city's past. A lookout on the hill taking in the downtown would also be pretty cool!

You should make a small night club / bar arena near the uni. Every school in the US has bars and big box stores within a few minutes from campus.

I'm loving this series James! I think I finished all your sims Playlists finally (it took me a few years) so now I'm watching some of your other games and I'm enjoying it!

Some notes that I hope may help: 1. I wish you'd show more on camera (especially with the regard to lane markings) 2. The new slip lane by the new residential district is beautiful! Love the addition of the slip lanes and interchanges :) 3. In the university, you could expand to add a Varsity Stadium :) 4. With the new tile, on the highway, you should add a toll before going into downtown to make you some more money. That should help balance things out a bit. What a very nice episode m8. Keep it up. The City is looking Beautiful!

Maybe you could do a uni site on the island? And then the ferry can carry students there. Definitely should be something going on that island!!

Could you please change the running track at the university to a varsity track!!! the dirt one looks like an eyes sore compared to the rest of the university. there is a finished track in the workshop, where you saw the soccer and baseball fields

For the beach park you're going to build, you could elevate the tram turnaround and slope the beach down a little and it could look like a pier or connect to a pier, as part of the park.

At the train station and the library where you have multiple crossings in one road section would be a great place for over/underpasses - they are everywhere at unis I feel. At my uni there was a story about how one year there were like 4 students hit by cars crossing the road, so the student guild organised a protest where they all just sat blocking the major road for the whole day until the gov agreed to put in an underpass!

Aside from just the fact that I find your voice relaxing, I have really enjoyed watching this series. Makes me want to dust off my mod list and play again. Oh to have time to play all the games. I just love the attention to detail you put into your cities.

You should try to turn on road collision when you're using a broader tree brush over pathways and stuff.

6:55 do a rail tunnel that goes directly to the university! That would be a great use for one of those lines. 9:49 on the waterfront there by the new area you built, would you consider doing a beach? If not, I think a quay with a park along it (extending the park you mentioned) would be a great fit as well. Perhaps you could even have a ferry terminal with a few lines leading from it (using the Brisbane style river cats or something) since there is so much water on the map.

College Train Station crosswalk to the bus could be an extension of the pedestrian tunnel already at the bus station.

At my campus the dorms have basketball courts behind them so maybe you could add those near the dorms or even the track! Loving this series!!

you could put some leisure/tourism between the stadiums and the city (e.g. pubs & restaurants to go to before a game)

I haven't finished video yet, but Uni buildings can be connected via foot paths, they don't necessarily need roads. Edit: literally 10 seconds after I type this James' realizes it : D
