I decided to do this video after watching Derek at DistroTube's coverage of this topic. In the late 1980's I worked for AT&T's Data Systems Group, and went through some of the training that Bell Labs provided to new developers about their philosophy for the Unix operating system. There are many misconceptions and incorrect things said about it, so hopefully my class notes will help clear some of this up. (yeah I kept them). UNIX of course was never perfect it began as an experiment to continue the work Bell Labs had performed on Multics, it grew into an iconic operating system, and if you look hard enough you might just find a few remnants of it that still exist today.
