Lots of Nirvana inspired bands come off as lame ripoffs (Puddle of Mudd anyone?) but Seether's first couple albums are a fantastic carrying-on of the style in a really authentic way IMO. Remedy could have been a Nirvana song with different lyrics, and Disclaimer One came really close to sounding almost identical sometimes. Glad they developed their own unique style as they went on, but Shaun's vocals on Nirvana covers give me chills. Hard agree, but it would also be easy to understand if Krist and Dave just dislike anything labelled "post grunge" as a rule

Finally someone agrees with me. I thought it was in really suspicious for him to get off the drums and pick up the lead guitar and step into the lead singer role, virtually taking Kurt's spot in his new band. I thought, hmm; I wonder how long he has been wanting the lead singer/guitar spot in a band. Kurt played the drums and Dave was on lead guitar when they rehearsed "Seasons in the Sun" and he couldn't get it right. There's a tricky guitar lick in that song and Kurt kicked him off the guitar and back to the drum kit and they played the song much better. I don't think Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters ever would have reached the status they have if Kurt were still alive and Nirvana just broke up. All the Foo Fighter Fans would still have Kurt. I think people just wanted a connection to Kurt and the Foo Fighters was it, however in bad taste it was to blindly follow Dave just because Kurt is gone. Courtney got ALL Kurt's money, instead of half or less with a divorce settlement and the royalties keep piling up by the day. Dave Grohl became a Kurt substitute and Krist has honored Kurt's memory. I've always wondered why Dave Grohl softened up towards Courtney... Maybe they share a secret...
