If you judge someone based on their enemies, Dave Grohl must be a top geezer!

Dave is basically the Hall (of hall and oates) of his generation. They make safe radio rock for their lukewarm audience.

Met him in line at the omelet bar at the Four Seasons in Kona. He was friendly, gracious and kind. Don't claim to know him however.

William Gildsmith has a legitimate gripe. Dave even admitted that. Hinds runs his mouth about a lot. That's why the boys in Mastadon are careful not to create situations that allow him to speak 'offensively'. If he does, they will often disavow.

I'm not a foo fighters fan but nowhere in this video did I hear something Dave did that would justify me disliking the guy. If this is all you have it's actually an endorsement of Grohl. a) demands perfection of drum tracks in his music - perfectly fine. As a professional musician this is your craft, competition is fierce and perfection is expected, if you don't like it work a regular job like everyone else in society. b) doesnt want people to kill others in a crowd - perfectly fine c) Grohl is successful and some people are pissed about it - completely irrelevant d) suggested Oasis should get back together - perfectly fine e) suggested Noel Gallagher is a whiny narcissist who annoys people - correct and fine f) some attention seeking dude dressed in a monster suit is railing against commercial music while desperately seeking attention - nothing to see here g) Grohl chose to tour with the legendary Paul McCartney over produce the Melvins album for them - the correct choice h) Some random lady is annoyed that Nirvana got famous and she saw Daves picture everywhere - this is nothing, it should not even be on the list i) abandoned a relationship. This complaint could be legitimate... but there's also very likely more to the story we aren't privy to, it's a relationship... there's no telling what actually was going on there. So we just can't conclude anything by this.

Foo fighters hits are so damn catchy. What do they have,like 12 Hits?? 14 hits?? 7 hits? who knows but I havent heard one that I hated. Its a fine line ......... I want his name & face to vanish for a long time, yet ....again, the songs are so damn catchy. Im envious of how catchy & creative the song structures are. Ive been playing over 35 years & cant muster up anything remotly even a quarter that catchy & good. and it sucks.

As a lifelong musician, I'm going to say that I've heard things along the musical grapevine that I have either accepted or flatly denied. My Rock and metal phase started with Kiss. I had to start cutting my chops with that shitstorm of a band...in the 90's I was more confused than clear on ideas like selling out and the new generation of grunge. Now I'm much more lenient towards positive rumors than negative ones. I've always heard positive things about the guy and since I personally don't know what the truth actually is in my mind??... I'm not shocked to see that real success COSTS... that's just the nature of mankind. I don't believe there is a successful musician alive that hasn't had to step over a few people to get there. In alot of ways, my conscience is still clear in that matter.

Grohl is a nice enough guy. He's just way, way, way, way overexposed. I'm tired of seeing him in every other band's documentary, gushing over how critical they were in his musical development. I'm also tired of all his guest appearances and commercials. Enough.

I’ve seen Gwar six times since since ‘89. Gwar sucks they always have and always will. I’m not a fan of Nirvana or The Foo Fighters fan, but a lot of this is just stupid.

Dave killed Kurt for the royalties. Kurt was over it and wanted to do family life but divorced from Courtney, Krist knew about it and Pat Smear ( a guy who knows a thing or two about dead song writers) made the hit and Dave gave him a place in his new band. Thats why Krist has only appeared a few times doing Nirvana tribute stuff and hides playing around in tiny bands. Dave knew the only way to outshine Kurt and make millions was to punch his ticket. Dave made a fucking movie about a band killing the singer for money. He did it. Prove me wrong.
