Being called a liar and told I am wrong won't make me lose any sleep but it sure is bewildering to me to have incurred such noxious reactions from those I have never offended, much less met, over such an unimportant account. William Gildsmith has a legitimate gripe. Dave even admitted that. Hinds runs his mouth about a lot. That's why the boys in Mastadon are careful not to create situations that allow him to speak 'offensively'. If he does, they will often disavow.

Brent Hinds was correct. Spot on about the "red carpet" thing. Not to mention Mastodon are WAY better than Foo Fighters. I've hung out with Brent and do not know the others. He once got me so drunk I thought was gonna barf all over Clutch during their encore. Screw David Grohl. Brent is the man.

I'm not a foo fighters fan but nowhere in this video did I hear something Dave did that would justify me disliking the guy. If this is all you have it's actually an endorsement of Grohl. a) demands perfection of drum tracks in his music - perfectly fine. As a professional musician this is your craft, competition is fierce and perfection is expected, if you don't like it work a regular job like everyone else in society. b) doesnt want people to kill others in a crowd - perfectly fine c) Grohl is successful and some people are pissed about it - completely irrelevant d) suggested Oasis should get back together - perfectly fine e) suggested Noel Gallagher is a whiny narcissist who annoys people - correct and fine f) some attention seeking dude dressed in a monster suit is railing against commercial music while desperately seeking attention - nothing to see here g) Grohl chose to tour with the legendary Paul McCartney over produce the Melvins album for them - the correct choice h) Some random lady is annoyed that Nirvana got famous and she saw Daves picture everywhere - this is nothing, it should not even be on the list i) abandoned a relationship. This complaint could be legitimate... but there's also very likely more to the story we aren't privy to, it's a relationship... there's no telling what actually was going on there. So we just can't conclude anything by this.

Watch Nirvana interviews and observe how Dave and Kurt didn’t really match personality wise. Dave was an excellent drummer in Nirvana. I dont think his songs in the Foo Fighters are really good songwriting. To me it sounds like middle of the road rock. Just derivative and generic radio station rock. His voice isn’t that good and he’s a terrible singer live. Another thing that is annoying with Grohl is the he forced himself somehow into becoming some kind of unofficial rock ambassador. Trying to be a rock historian of some kind. Plus he thinks he’s a comedian too.

As a lifelong musician, I'm going to say that I've heard things along the musical grapevine that I have either accepted or flatly denied. My Rock and metal phase started with Kiss. I had to start cutting my chops with that shitstorm of a band...in the 90's I was more confused than clear on ideas like selling out and the new generation of grunge. Now I'm much more lenient towards positive rumors than negative ones. I've always heard positive things about the guy and since I personally don't know what the truth actually is in my mind??... I'm not shocked to see that real success COSTS... that's just the nature of mankind. I don't believe there is a successful musician alive that hasn't had to step over a few people to get there. In alot of ways, my conscience is still clear in that matter.

A fair and reasonable comment. There really aren’t many of those on this video, for some reason. A lot of people took this video very personally. No one is liked by absolutely everyone. I’d be highly suspicious of a person who never lashed out at someone on a bad day, never broke someone’s heart, never regretted the way they treated someone, or wished they went about things in a different way. I would bet that person was hiding something serious. This video made no implications about the man’s character or personality. It’s just a list of people who aren’t fond of him, and their reasons. A similar video could be made about me, you, and anyone else. It doesn’t make him a monster, it makes him human.

I'm sorry but Brent Hinds is so much better than Dave Grohl as a musician, and Mastodon as a whole is a way better band than Foo Fighters. Also, I'm not an Oasis fan but Noel Gallagher is also a better and more influential song writer than Grohl. He seems like a nice guy and all, but his music is just so safe and bland.

Dave killed Kurt for the royalties. Kurt was over it and wanted to do family life but divorced from Courtney, Krist knew about it and Pat Smear ( a guy who knows a thing or two about dead song writers) made the hit and Dave gave him a place in his new band. Thats why Krist has only appeared a few times doing Nirvana tribute stuff and hides playing around in tiny bands. Dave knew the only way to outshine Kurt and make millions was to punch his ticket. Dave made a fucking movie about a band killing the singer for money. He did it. Prove me wrong.
