I was hooked, I loved "Tyler's Bullshit". And yes I can identify when the joy of doing something so simple as a cheese burger can bring a smile. Love and joy of doing something for someone who will appreciate it is very gratifying. This movie is excellent I was looking forward to watching it. And it was delightful to watch. The whole menu was all thought provoking, a dying art. But a simple burger that was meant to be nothing but a tasteful meal that takes no thought into eating it. Everything else was for all your fancy taste buds. Like the food critic that just "tested" the food to never enjoy the food.

The Menu, Glass Onion, and Triangle of Sadness are just some of the films from 2022 that became an instant favorite of mine. Well-made films backed up by incredible performances of stellar cast. 2022 was a great year overall particularly for independent and horror films. X, Pearl, Barbarian, The Northman, etc. Hopefully 2023 brings a lot of good stuff too.

I only knew Chef Dominique Crenn from Iron Chef in Netflix and watching her there brings me joy. After I knew here that she was directly involved in the food, it all made sense.

Definitely reminds me of “Velvet Buzzsaw” in how the joys of the world and the fine arts can be ruined by Money, Greed, Ego, and Cynical outlooks on life or everyday General things we do. So yeah, It’s very dynamic in that criticism towards the Cynical nature in response to art of any kind.

Always find Ralph Fiennes performance intrigueng (and there is a very comedic side to him) - the movie Menu reminded me of stories I read as a child (somewhat gruesome) by Wilhelm Busch written in 19th century:Max & Moritz, Struwwelpeter and more ... kind of funny but not really. I grew up with that sort of story telling but I am 78 now : ) Only the setting in this movie is current and highly stylized with it's gruesome content as well. The main character the Chef moralizing his twisted action towards each individual, Guest seems correctly played. Well done - not funny though, not to me. The Hamburger scene was light and a nice surprise in more than one way.

Simple things made with love, like a 9-dollar burger, are much greater than fancy artificial "concept dishes", that actually restrain artists. P.S. Margot saw on the newspaper photo how happy the chef was cooking a patty at some fast food restaurant, and that saved her. She didn't become a part of what destroyed his life. She brought a smile on his face again by ordering that burger.

Because they were at the mercy of a dude that hated them and their life choices. And it’s clear he was a person that hated himself. He might’ve even specifically selected these chefs under him because they shared the same outlook and or Depression as him! The knew they line they would all cross would either lead them to death or imprisonment! The Ultimate reason and lesson the film is trying to teach is “Misery”. Sometimes we doom ourselves into becoming something we never wanted to be. The Chef admitted his sins during the middle portions of the film, how he desired to stab his Father after he strangle his mother, how seeing her constantly drink herself under as if wanting to die. How all the Chef’s aspersions were ruined in life, and how they mirror their worst aspects his highest paid clients while they themselves have no desire to change grow or even learn that they are actively harming others through their own actions. In a way, it was either him that would kill them, or the slow hand of death. Chef Slowvik chose to speed up the process.

What is impressive about the film is the strangeness of Will Tracy's mind. First question: why do they let Margo in? Second question, why does Elsa (Hong Chau) say that Margo is not going to replace her and try to kill her? She's not supposed to be there. You can tell that Ralph Fiennes' performance is excellent, and it's the one that gives away that the movie is a satire. But near the end of the movie, I think Ralph himself must have said: what the hell am I doing here?

The first answer is because they couldn't ditch the plan entirely, so they them in and evaluated Margo, deeming she wasn't like the rest by the end of it. 2nd answer is, that she could tell he was taking a liking to her. She could tell he was interested in her story and that means she could've possibly swayed his mind, jealousy. Ralph did an amazing job, honestly I didn't get that feel from him like you stated. He played it perfect to the T, it resognates with many that have been in certain careers. Just saying

Either 2 or 3 there was a dish that was a dessert, very brittle, and held in a clamp. We were instructed how to release it so it wouldn't shatter, but my hubby didn't listen and broke his all over the table. He licked the table. They said "we can get you another, sir" and my hubby was like great, still gonna eat this one too (the tables are really clean) Next time we went, they were plating desert on the table like the last scene on the floor. Also my hubby was on masterchef season 2 as an ametuer chef like tyler (but better)...a super fun watch for us!

Dumbass Segal thought he’d be the next Bruce Lee, but really, his best chance would have been the next Hulk Hogan… but only until the Rock came around. I love this petty little revenge Leguizamo got with this. 💚🤘 Eff Seagal and the fake martial arts he rode in on. My fav part of Executive Decision has *always* been his death scene. If only all his characters died before getting much screen time. 😅🤷‍♀️😉

Why kill the Actor? Chef didn't like the movie? That's on Chef. If you are going to burn anyone then burn the writer

I'm going to watch it again because I just wasn't feeling it. Couple scenes I laughed but other than that it seemed boring to me and yes I do love slow burn movies. Does anybody else feel the same???

Hot take: idk why but I didn’t like it. It’s well made and all. Acting is superb and the story is refreshing. But there is something missing… or it’s me.

the movie was very interesting to start with but in third act the whole thing blew up in boring crapshow. no twists, no nothing. they could have made the guy who loved the food to be in on it or a serial killer or something..something more than first reacting to real killings with nonchalance only to later be killed...i mean why.. why was he not affected by the murder infront of him..but then also a chickenshit later..so strange. its a really bad bad movie that had a great idea but failed hard.

This was obviously John Leguizamo's worst acting in years... His inspiration was Steven Seagal? He came across as one of the most likeable people in the film; in no way did he resemble Seagal.
