What do you think of The Mummy?

To this day, this is one of my favorite movies to go back and rewatch.

The mummy and the mummy returns will always hold a special place in my life. I revisit these on the DVD collection all too frequently

I love that Brendan Fraser knocked this role out of the park, becoming a heart throb for multiple generations….. tom cruise attempted a reboot, murdered the franchise.

Disgusting what Hollywood did to Brendan Frasier in the 90s. So happy to see his return and success lately. Easily the most humble, nicest person right now in interviews etc.

I remember being pleasantly surprised by this movie. We all went in expecting horror and got action adventure! Brenden Fraser was excellent.

The first two movies were always on re-run on cable tv here in India and I would never miss a chance to watch no matter how many times I have watched it before. They just amazed me as child and still hold a special place in my heart ❣️

Incredible that they actually went out into the desert to film. These days they would have done it all on a green screen with CGI, the AC on and a mist bottle to simulate sweat.

1999 was a year for great movies that are classics now. The Mummy is one of them. It's entertaining, fun, intriguing, with many memorable characters and moments

One of my favorite movies ever. Can't imagine a better cast. The plot is awesome. Rachel is so adorable. O'Connor showed his acting range - look at Lord of Illusions for comparison. Going to watch this movie again this evening

A lot of effort, research, perfect casting, set pieces, and rewrites went into these Mummy movies, which is why they are comedy action classics that stand up over the years! Worth it and definitely fan-favorite movies, making Brandan Fraser in his youth a big action star.

I was completely enamored by Rachel weisz. Especially when we first see her Egyptian dress when they get the camels. She's just stunning, even to this day

The only film in my life I watched three times in the theaters during its run in 1999. Brendan Fraser was a action hero for me as a 12 year old.

The Mummy popped up on streaming recently…I haven’t seen it in almost a decade. I swear it brought back so many childhood memories. To me this is on par with Jurassic Park and Star Wars vibes ❤🎉

You're missing a major huge point, the director Steven Summers was blacklisted by Hollywood. He hasn't made a movie in 10 years. I believe he got into an argument with some producers. He was making one blockbuster hit after another and then he just vanished. He was blacklisted.

Love how they honored the 30s movie, imotep's priest mummies were a tribute to the og mummy movie. Rachel is very beautiful

I would give my life to see Brendan Fraser back for a sequel as Rick O'Connell with the original cast and crew.

Awesome Movie

The Mummy is a great movie that harken back to Indiana Jones and other fantastical hero films like Willow with cool monsters, action set pieces, quirky humor, and even romance. The Mummy Returns was a solid if flawed sequel, while the third movie was unfortunately rote and by the numbers.

Still remember enacting scenes from this movie while using my action figures as cast back when I was a kid. Such a hilarious yet awesome action franchise!

Watched it yesterday this was my indiana Jones growing up!

Omid Djalili scenes were hilarious! Every time he got hit by that rope… I laughed out loud!!

If only we could see sequel with original cast...

The first two mummy films made such a big impact on me i was a teenager at the time of the release of the first film they are by far the last of the greatest films of the 90s and the early 2000s they are a rare piece of film history that will remain timeless and if you don’t own them in your film collection you should definitely get them

Everybody is praising Brendan Fraser, but for me when I watched as a kid, It was the Imhotep actor that made this movie special.

Hands down this is my top 100 fav movies !

This movie was a classic and part of my childhood. Having to watch it times without number and play it on playstation 1 at the time.

I remember seeing the preview in a movie theater and saying to myself "I have GOT to see this movie."

One of the best movies ever. It can potentially save you from religious cults allegedly based on ancient Egyptian documents. It took many years, but it did get me out of Mormonism, eventually. I'm very grateful.

Wonderful Movie. Arnold Voslos (sp?) was a wonderful introduction. Haven't retained a lot if CD's but this is one of them.

I remember watching The Mummy. It was fun and it had some great moments. I then saw the Boris Karloff version. Karloff was creepy as the reincarnated Imhotep. When you are looking at the close ups of Imhotep, Karloff was silently telling the victim and the audience, “You are doomed.” Karloff had that similar facial expression in Frankenstein. Beni was my favorite character. He was so spineless that he would follow anyone. And the line by Evie was classic. “Nasty little fellows like yourself will always get their comeuppance.” That summed up Beni. Jerry Goldsmith’s score was big and full of adventure, horror and romance. I remember Arnold Vosloo in the Darkman movies. He was pretty good.

The Mummy is one of my favorite all time movies, especially since I have an interest in archaeology. I especially loved Rachel Weisz as Evelyn, she fit that role perfectly. I had a crush for her. The humor throughout the film was well done.

You forgot Ardeth Bay played by Oded Fehr who delivered some good lines. Also the three actors who were sucked dry by the mummy.

I don't even think the city-within-a-volcano was even that clear at all from the movie. I just thought it rose in the desert and had these weird walls around it.

I enjoyed Brendan Fraser in George of the Jungle and other flicks but this is the one where I knew he was fantastic.

Ultimate Nostalgia. Such a charming and fun movie

I saw this when it was in theaters, loved it then. Have seen it a ton of times since, still love it. It is simply a well made, fun movie. addendum: Napoleon's Egypt campaign is what got the west widely interested in the area for the first time in a very long time. Interest that has only waxed since then. But its funny. Napoleon sails to Egypt with an army of painters and historians and whatnot, as well as an actual army... But out of those 4 groups (Napoleon himself, the army, the scholars and the fleet) only 2 came back to France. Napoleon and what the scholars had been able to copy and steal came back. Just no army and no fleet. fun fact, the stereotypical sailor uniform of British and American sailors (dress blues/whites for the US) are both based on the uniforms used by the crew of the royal yacht in the UK. That set of three stripes that you can see as trim around the jumper's collar and flap (yes, those are the actual terms used, by the USN at least) are said to represent the three great victories (really 2 great and 1 decent) of Admiral Nelson. Copenhagen, Trafalgar and The Nile. Yes, that battle of The Nile is the one that wiped that specific French fleet off the globe. The land army was lost thanks to useless use of them on land. Napoleon skittered off back to France with his loot and came back a proper hero even. Nevermind the fact that he forgot to bring the army and navy back with him... afterall he had all this cool Egyptian swag.

While i did'nt like the following parts as much, the first one is still insanely entertaining. Cast, Crew, props department... they all did a FANTASTIC JOB. I like the humor, the chemistry between Rick and Benji and Rick and Evelin. Oded Fehr made a great first impression regarding his character. I just love everything about this movie.
