Ron Finley challenged authority in Los Angeles, California by planting a garden on a strip of land adjacent to a parkway. Now he promotes gardening as a way to help kids in low-income neighborhoods. Finley spoke to attendees at the ULI 2013 Fall Meeting in Chicago, Illinois

This should be "common core". Teaching kids how to grow food, and make their own breads, and such.

As a teacher I know this is true. Students look at vegetables and more so fruits 🍉 🍌 🍎 like it’s a foreign object, but then they’ll ask me how it grows and eventually they want to eat it. This so admire this Gardner, and he is right. I go out to work in the garden and four hours later my stomach is growling because I forgot to eat. In Germany (lived there six years) every citizen must have a garden, so there are plots of land right outside the cities for each family to organically maintain. That is where I developed my love 😍 for gardening. I thank the Germans everyday for it. Schools need this.❤️👍🏼👏🏽🌱🎋🍄🦔🌾🌻💐

I´m doing this in Mexico. The big difference is that the city government of Saltillo, in this "developing" country, has supported my work from the start! !Gracias!

what disturbed me about my garden many years ago was that l was incuraged to grow flowers but not vegetables for me l starved and had no vegetables in my garden "the garden was there when l got there. You said all that you have clearly and no one could be blind to this after listening to you. Thank you for all you done

Happiness is also a technology. It's how language and symbols influence the brain and our decision-making. So is unhappiness. Let's tend to our garden, friends.

Love his energy, however, he's got to watch himself. The power that be will see him as a Threat, and we should know what that means. He's a target for death as the Doctors who have been murdered due to their choice to educate about the poisoning of medications.
