I think the Jazz should make this coming season Lauri and the kids. Extend Lauri but go super young for this upcoming season and land a top 5 pick.

Sorry but there was so much speculative talk, that I missed the whole point. Should we trade Lauri or not? I would say no. Focus on the current roster and the youngsters + get 1-2 experienced role players to the team.

I don’t know if Lauri Markannen resigning or not is going to change the outcome this upcoming season on where the jazz will be, the west is really stacked, but I do think the jazz need to fully commit to a direction, that I agree with. You either go out and “big game hunt” and tell us we are going for it in the next 2 years or just fully commit to the long term rebuild. My honest opinion is the jazz have no shot in the west at contending for a few years unless they trade for like a luka doncic

Why not just trust DA to build the team? If we keep Lauri then maybe we build a team around him. If we don't then I'm good with tank for Flagg and then tank for Boozer. We got a big problem though. Key and Hendricks are both talented, as they start to rise, the Jazz are going to have a harder and harder time losing games.

Grizzlies should be the team trading for Markennen. Jazz need to rebuild, trade Markennen, Collins and possible Sexton.

Here's my solution. Trade Markkanen to OKC for Josh Giddey, Ousmane Dieng, Cason Wallace and 4 first round picks. (OKC can afford it.) And as a part of the deal - one of the 4 picks the Jazz get is the one owed to OKC for them taking Derrick Favors off the Jazz's hands in 2021. That eliminates the problem the Jazz have in potentially having to convey the pick to OKC in either 2025 or 2026. In reality, that's 5 first-round picks for Lauri because Wallace was a first round pick in 2023. (That's a godfather sized offer.) After their exit from the playoffs, a lot of OKC fans were screaming bloody murder that they could have beaten Dallas and made it to finals if Markkanen had been on their team. I agree. By the way, the above trade works on the ESPN Trade Machine. Some NBA pundits have suggested the same trade but leave Ousmane Dieng out of the deal. But the trade doesn't work if you don't include Dieng because you have to match salaries to within the 125% plus $100,000 rule. If I were OKC, I would also asked if Walker Kessler was available. And if not, (likely not) try to get Omer Yurtseven from the Jazz. OKC needs a big bodied, strong center and the Jazz have BIG YURT under contract for another season. To me, OKC needs to "swing for the fences" and make a move to get the guy(s) that can take them to the finals. They already have SGA, J-Dub and Holmgren. Add Lauri Markkanen and Yurtseven and they become extremely tough to beat. I see this as a good move for the Jazz, OKC and for Lauri - as it puts him on a team that will be a real threat in the West for years to come.
