What I love about RHD is the safety. Head on collisions are the most deadly and traumatic. Most of America's vehicles are occupied by a single person. RHD puts the driver in a spot furthest away from oncoming traffic.

They are interesting cars, the previous gen still had power vent windows like a 60's Cadillac. The "I just wanted a comfortable daily driver" statement was kinda funny. This is a lot to go through for just "a comfortable daily driver".

For such a car-oriented country, it’s a shame Americans can’t import anything younger than 25 years. Clearly the 2nd Gen is the one to get. Not only is it the v12, it still has the classic ‘old school’ look of the 1967 one. Buying one? Here’s some tips. Get wool upholstery, fender mirrors, curtains and antimacassars. All Centuries are beautifully painted, but only the black turns the most heads. The Century acquired a silky smooth 6spd in 2005, LED lights and reversing camera a few years later. Can you wait? Who knows? What can be assumed though is that come 2030 prices for excellent, low mileage 6 spd examples will skyrocket

OK... This is an INSANE car to import into the USA or Canada, because there are absolutely NO parts for the car in North America, and the Century shares very little (even down to minor switch gear) with other Toyotas. This car is a genuine flagship, intended for captains of industry and heads of state. And I know, as I owned one in New Zealand. Mine had been given to the original Toyota NZ importer, and Toyota maintained a minor stock of common-replacement parts for the 5 Centuries that lived on the islands. But that's not the case in North America, and Toyota has stated that the company does not approve of individuals importing these non-coplying vehicles into one of their largest markets. The cars are stunning, made to standards that Mercedes or Rolls Royce can only imagine...but it's not much good if you need a transmission pan gasket and it takes 4 months to get one. Suggesting to your probably-gullible audience that this is a fesible vehicle for regular use is irresponsible.

that's the same displacement in a V8 equipped Ford Mustang all be it from a bigger engine and more reliable it being a Toyota though it was never sold here because the US already had a Buick car called the Century and in the 3 generations of production where there are official numbers sold per year available the model sold about 4,000,000 units in the US the only Luxury car that sold more in its production life in the US than that was the Cadillac Deville which sold around 5.25 million units in 46 years in production for the original Deville Coupe Deville etc. and that's the third longest production run in Cadillac's 121 year history behind the Fleetwood 1938-1996 and the Eldorado 1952-2002. oh and The Mustang is the sales leader in its segment having sold around 10 million units in the US since its April 1964 release while the top selling midsize sedan is the Toyota Camry having sold around 15 million units in the US since its Sept 1982 release as a 1983 model
