You know that you can't just say you want innovation and excellence, You have to allow it to happen. You have to embrace the oddball, Foster freedom of thought. Champion the independent thinkers. The private sector does this very well. With the Government and military in charge you will get people who talk about "Silos of excellence"? Innovation and the future is happening at places like DARPA. If you don't believe that, just be sure to listen to Dan Quale. Judging by this commercial and the amount of word salad it proudly displays, I believe the pile of money that will be wasted At this innovation center will boggle the mind.

Promoting innovation and embracing unconventional thinking within the DOD is precisely what the Naval Innovation Center at NPS will facilitate. By actively creating opportunities for collaboration between industry and the Department of Defense, it seeks to leverage the private sector's proven success in innovation. The goal is to instill this innovative mindset in future DOD leaders, the NPS student body, and drive a more dynamic approach to defense challenges.
