Ngl, this is a refreshing Marvel event after stuff like Knoll and X-men events, and Marvel events happening around the world

from what i recall, the blood was just a catalyst, blade's new powers were the result of a conscious choice and change in behavior and perspective he made

You guys haven’t been following the Blade series by Bryan Hill. It sets up Blood Hunt. At the end of Hill’s series, Blade defeated the Adana, an ancient demon, but he was corrupted by her influence and was slowly turning evil. It makes sense that Blade fell to the dark side and orchestrated Blood Hunt.

Blade hasn’t been in bad guy mode since he was Switchblade during Midnight Massacre when he was possessed by the Darkhold.

Great review of this issue event, Joel👌, and yes, I'm overwhelmed by the sheer number of tie-ins we have to read just to get the scope of this event. Wise choice to stick only to the main event book as that is easier on the wallet and keeps our focus on the main event, so to speak, and NOT get distracted by tie-ins that mostly have NOTHING to do with it

Thor's got some serious shit going down across the multiverse. Besides just getting staked through the head; he got knifed in the back in the ultimate avengers by captain britain; he's about to face an ultron powered hulk in avengers twilight; and he got hi- jacked in his own book by the minotaur, amora, skurge and maybe Loki. Man it ain't easy being a god!

Even though the number of tie-ins for this series feels kinda gross, I’m so tempted to buy a lot of these because they feature c and d list characters that I love. Particularly Union Jack, the Midnight sons, and the Dracula book for Brielle

They always ruin a good idea with a million tie ins, preludes and all sorts. Keep the story action packed and the plot thick with intrigue.

Wasn't expecting the event to be going on as long as till September, hope they've got a hell of a story to tell. Do you think Blade's daughter Bloodline will play a significant role?

Spoilers for which hero gets turned into a vampire in the following order: Black panther, Dr. Strange (after getting slashed into half in the Red band edition of this issue), Miles Morales (in his own tie-in books), Tigra possibly as one panel in the Women of Marvel 2024 one shot shows a demonic, vampiric looking Tigra

Nope. Just nope. Is there story explaining that Thor leaves his power as All-Father back in Asgard while he's on Earth that I missed? Was elder god consuming Darkhold merging Scarlet Witch depowered somewhere and I missed it? Was the fact that Dr Strange already used the Montessori Spell from the Darkhold to destroy all vampires before retconned out and I forgot about it? Captain Marvel didn't just almost go supernova and nearly obliterate a planet recently, right? So a woman with the literal power of an exploding sun, the embodiment of the spellbook containing the spells that created and destroyed all vampires and the Odin Force are taken down by vampires that ate some no named superhuman for a while and I'm supposed to buy that? BS. Thor the AllFather or Scarlet Witch not being able to one shot Sentinels was already a travesty. Sentinels can counter magic let alone the strongest magics. But a vampire taking out Thor but Thor can kill Galactus and take down the Black Winter? I knew seeing Thor in his OG costume was going to see a nerfing of his powers and I was right. DC v Vampires was trash imho for the same reasons Bloodhunt is trash. Too many inconsistent debuffs, nerfing and just plain ignoring stuff has to happen for it to work. And making a beloved hero break bad in a surprise twist is f'n overdone. And those vampire's names? Did someone find an old memo from Rob Liefeld with character names on it? This summer event feels like Armageddon 2001 from 1991 at DC...it should have been left to just the annuals and then forgot to annals of comic history.

The art was good but I'd like to see Larraz draw something other than events and huge groups. It'd be incredible if he did Spiderman or I think he'd be a good fit for Iron Man

I have Incredible Hulk, Fantastic Four and X-Men on my pull list. I have no interest in an event around Vampires. I barely cared when Apocalypse had those crossover fights with Dracula. In a universe of Mutants, Gods and Aliens. Vampires are a bit dull...

Ooff! 60 Books!?! As you said for such a simple premise seems like complete hubris. Also where is Elsa Bloodstone? They are fighting monsters and you don't have the person that specializes in fighting them, in this series? Come on.

With a game and movie on the horizon, now seems like an odd time to give Blade the Shadowland treatment... but then again, Marvel Comics' approach to synergy always feels oddly vindictive...

I don’t like the idea of making blade into the main villain of this event.

I don't have much hope for Blood Hunt as it seems to be leaning hard into blood and gore.

Any event after Secret Wars 2015 feels kind of small. I saw the Avengers fight the end of the Multiverse. Who cares about some vampires in comparison?
