THE VARIETY OF GRISHKO/NIKOLAY LASTS & MODELS THAT CAN WORK ON 1 FOOT TYPE! (EPISODE 2)
I’m going to do these on a regular basis.
I want to show just how many different Grishko/Nikolay pointe shoe lasts and models can work on 1 foot type alone and the impressive variety.
Please note: Of course, some of these shoes shown could be made more “perfect” in special order.
Issy has good strength in her feet with very even alignment.
I have been fitting Issy since her very first pair of pointe shoes! This is now her third pair.
She has quite a high arch, flexible feet and ankles, toes that are medium - long in length that are semi tapered pretty much. Though, her last two little toes do taper off quite a bit.
With broad metatarsals, average heel that get’s more narrow when en pointe (but not a disappearing heel).
Size wise she varies between 4.5 - 5 and widths: 3X - 4X depending on model.
Featured: Maya 1, Nova Pro, Nova Flex, Dream Pointe 2007 Pre Arched (Allure), 3007 and Triumph.

Great video! I was wondering if you could help me. I used to love my Grishko 2007’s. They looked beautiful on my feet. However, when it came to turning and balancing, I found the platform too small. I also tried the Dream Pointe and again, had the same issue. For the past year I’ve been wearing the Bloch European Balance to allow me that wider platform. They do help me balance far better, however I am starting to miss the prettier look of Grishko’s on my feet versus the Bloch’s. Could you possibly tell me which Grishko model has the widest/most generous platform? Thank you! x

Hi, it's best you have an in person fitting with me (if you are able to! Where are you based?) I also offer virtual fittings worldwide... Anyway, for a "quick" answer: 1. The platform width can be increased up to 20% extra in special order. 2. The platform width is determined also by the box shape, profile height and width of the shoe. Some dancers end up going for a shoe with a big platform but then of course it doesn't fit them correctly in box shape or width or profile height or all 3.. Lol 3. If your foot is suitable for the following shoes then here's how some of our models compare platform wise starting with the widest platform and no special orders (all models can be made 20% extra in special): 1. Super Triumph (and Super Triumph Pre Arched), Triumph (the standard triumph model), Maya 1, Fouette and Ulanova 1, Dream Pointe 2007 Pre Arched, 3007, Smart Pointe, Nova and Miracle.

P.S. dream pointe classic has a small platform like 2007 BUT dream pointe 2007 (also known as dream pointe 2007 pre arched) has a much bigger platform

@@StraighttothepointeNet thank you for such a fast and detailed reply!! I’m based in Leicestershire so maybe a little too far away... I have quite flat feet with a rather unimpressive arch (cries ballerina tears haha!) with fairly long, skinny toes. I have to wear a toe spacer as I have that classic gap between my big toe. My toes are definitely tapered which is why Grishko’s looked so pretty but I have quite weak ankles so I was falling off pointe when it came to turns on a smaller platform, therefore the wider box and platform in the European Balance helped to stop that happening as much. I’d be interested in looking more into the Super Triumph though to get me back into my favourite brand of pointe shoes .... 🤔 x

@@LunaLauren98 if you have fairly long skinny toes (and also dependant on other foot factors such as: profile height, insteps, strength of feet and ankles, how low your arch really is, etc) then the super triumph may not be your best bet. I cannot tell you for certain without fitting you unfortunately. I have traveled to Leicestershire before for fittings but I only travel that distance if there's a group of dancers who need me. Next year when lock down is over I'll look at putting a tour together again for the UK where I do 2-3 days in each place doing fittings at schools but also from an air b&b and from dancers homes. (However, if I do travel to schools/homes during a tour I won't just travel for 1 or 2 lol. I prefer to set up in one place as it takes a lot of time packing and unpacking). @@StraighttothepointeNet I have flatter feet, long skinny toes, weak ankles but STRONG feet (have been known to snap shanks in half before 😂) Id love to be fitted by you one day. I watch your videos a lot for pointe shoe information x
