Anybody else break their stream points after just one class? (Hard shank, flexible feet).

Has anybody tried star pointe yet? I tried 2 pairs. They were wonderful, made my feet look gorgeous and were perfect almost for all kind of pas. The only thing is... It hurts my big toe bunion sooooo badly that I had to stop using it. I have tried everything... Narrower width, big toe caps, moldable toepads, thick toe pads, bunion cushion, cutting moleskin pads and stuff it inside my pointe shoes...you name it. Yet nothing worked... The shoes were so nice, and I really wanted to keep using it. I know she stopped posting... Just wondering if anybody here has the same problem and can offer advice? Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the sensible advice. Been off my feet with injuries for a few months and have hyper flexibility so have to keep strong alignment. You take me back to my childhood ballet lessons and already feeling the benefits! Also like your presentation, nice and relaxing for good focus!

Last month I attempted to glue Nikolay suede tips to Nikolay DreamPointe shoes as I was going to be performing on a very slick stage. Followed the directions very carefully but the results were not satisfactory at all. The suede tips became slick in a matter of a few minutes and I required nearly the same amount of rosin on the studio floor as if I had done nothing to the shoe, the studio floor being less slick than the stage I would be on. I ended up darning the entire end of a different pair which I used for the performance and that was much better and more rosin was able to stick to the threads than to satin, also the darning has very good traction in the studio, needing little rosin. When I tried to use the shoes with the suede tips again for class the glue began come detached at the right angle and the platform felt very mushy and unstable. I had to rip them off to continue using the shoes just as I had for years before ever trying this. Just wanted to mention this to warn anyone doing this for the first time to make sure to try it out well in advance of any performance or audition you may have in case it doesn't end up working well for you for one reason or another.

Omg it's like looking at my own feet and legs... 😲😲It is always a pain to find a correct fitting for me. I am now due for a refitting. I'll make sure to try all these types with my local fitter. Thanks so so much!!

for me, grishko pointe shoes feel so heavy esp when i was wearing bloch before trying grishko. also i don’t have archy feet but like grishkos look super nice when i’m en pointe but when i just pointe my feet, i can’t pointe? is it bc the shoes break high? i wear grishko streampointe

I've got super flexible and compressible feet and I got fitted in Triumph. My feet are tapered but mostly the last 2 toes. I had the 2007's in XX and you're right, I'm a width down in the triumphs. The booklet says the triumphs are good for archy feet, and i agree, the 2007's pushed me over too far. I'm not 100% sure why I'm not going over too far in the triumphs but i think it's the higher vamp and the deeper and rounder throat of the box. I tried about 20 shoes and it took an hour to fit because my feet shrink and shrink and shrink as they warm up 😂 I got home and they didn't fit anymore because my feet were cold. But that shouldn't be an issue since I wear them after an hour of class. I'm really happy to have grishko's again because i love the way they balance and support. It's just that my 2007's had me sink down and bruise my toenail 😑 I did notice they feel almost ready to wear in a hard shank. I hope they last me a bit, otherwise I might see if I can try the super triumph. The longer wings would be great for me too!

I have only just discovered your channel, thank you so much for so much details on your videos. I have been wearing Grishko for so long and have recently going through refitting....what a difference but I will definitely start breaking in shoes with my feet rather than manipulating.

This is very informative. Thank you! Is the metatarsal area of StarPointes broader than StreamPointe? Is the sizing the same? I prefer real tapper box shape because I sink otherwise. My feet are relatively narrow with wider metatarsal. I wear XXX for 2007 models. What width would you recommend if I'm gonna try with StarPointe?

I technically have Egyptian feet, but the angle isn't steep. None of my toes are even, but the taper isn't drastic, so I find the StreamPointe is broad enough, without putting all the force on my big toe. This helps to answer the shank question for me. I currently wear the H or R and I was worried about what shank to get. I like my shoes to be on the softer side, so I think MF might be a good place to start. It's definitely appears harder the the StreamPointe M.
