I'm trying to get back into the habit of playing full (or nearly) full songs. My hand was getting tired towards the end of the song, after doing a few takes and I think I slowed down a bit.

There are two Velvet Undergrounds: The noisy experimental VU from the first two albums, and the poppier VU from the last two albums. Both VUs are great so everyone is a winner!

Lou Reed was not a skilled player, but he certainly exploited what he had and the results are simplistic, but amazing at the same time

I think Lou Reed studied classical in high school . Saw him live at Christchurch Concert Hall in the 70s . Big fan

You can never go wrong covering the Velvet Underground or Lou Reed. Transformer is one of the great great recordings, definitely covers that album and Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie.

@@bloxsy_ Transformer is one of the greatest albums of the era. I believe David Bowie and Mick Ronson worked with him on it. Rock n Roll gold. In high school I wore my copy out along with Abbey Road & White Album, Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main Street, Humble Pie Smokin, Deep Purple Machine Head and Layla, Who’s Next, Live at Leeds & Tommy, Led Zeppelin IV, Ziggy Stardust, Deja Vu by CSN&Y, Eat A Peace & Live at Fillmore by the Allman Brothers, J. Geil’s Full House and a number of Dylan’s work.

Thanks! I'm tuned down to D Standard and then 'Drop C' the low string. So it's it's like Drop D tuning but everything a whole note lower if that makes sense.
