I have both tier 9 and 10 and to be honest playing them is as fun as attending colonoscopy - you are slow, gun is derpy, pen is low even with gold, drum is pontless due to long intraclip. On the plus side: semiturret and a lot of armor on it. Gameplay looks like this: you seek hulldown position, go there and pray that you'll able to hit and pen someone - great wot 2023AD experience...

My son got the Vipera in one of the Christmas boxes. He was losing interest in the game, so I started to play his account to pump up his statistics and fully spec out the vehicles. You're absolutely right in that it's a hard vehicle to pull a good game out of but I wonder what you would have thought of my gameplay on a particular game. It was a few months ago but I think it was a tier 10 battle on Sand River. We were in the South and the enemy heavies pushed right up to our base through that middle ditch, so I was really sniping just keeping my head down and soaked about 4 or 5k damage, getting in hits where I could ( I think my final alpha was 2500+ ). We held off the siege and at the end had a 3 on one vs an object 268 which had all of its hps vs me with a 35% hps, a Ho-Ri 3 with about 10 hps, and 3rd tank destroyer I can't remember- we ended up losing and I'm still a little annoyed by it. I thought I played well. Sorry for the long comment. I loved the play in the first game btw.

The Vipera is all about its armour, any minor buff to mobility or its gun will render the whole thing broken. It and all the Italian heavy/TD’s are very much an extreme set of characteristics balanced by their heavy limitations

This tank is a giant pain in the ass to play and play against. Often only able to get a few shots then the long reload. Rather have less clip but faster reload so I get back to playing.

I was thinking about to buy this tank the last time it was on sale, but than I said wait a minute I need to check Skill's index page first. After checking the overall ratings of the Italian TD's I started to grind towards SMV CC-67. Fellas, Skill is better than any bank out there. Check out his Index page before making any investments.

I bought Vipera after the Italian TDs came to the game, i should've waited to see the review before buying it but man, i thouhg the tank could perform pretty well but it's what is, the gunhandling just make me wanna sell it every time i play it...

Took me a while but I love this tank now. Skil is totally right in that this tank shines when you are aggressive. You just push them and over whelm them, fall back to reload. They panic when they realize you will keep smacking them for 400 over and over.

I would be tempted to buy a Viper, but I guess I'll wait for the American XM66F and see what happens.

2 things.. if you are used to snapshot, forget this tank it's the same with the bisonte. and using improved aiming and experimental turbo is the way to go. rotation makes the handling even worse due to the turret rotation speed.

I don't have the Svipera so I'm basing my comment on the tech tree SMV, I don't really hate playing these, and I also don't hate playing against these, so I think they're pretty well balanced.

I got this tank in the Christmas loot box and finally traded it for Steyr WT or Scorpion. It's not that it's horrible, but it felt significantly worse than its tech tree equivalent (CC-67 if memory serves).

This tank is definitely a guilty pleasure for me. I am a rather experienced player (8k+) and have been playing the game since 2012 and this tank is kinda like my version of arta in a way. It’s so easy to play and kind of a brain dead tank that I find it very relaxing to play when the game is making me rage. Gun handling is pretty trash but the rest of the tank is actually not bad. The autoloader adds a little uniqueness to it over something like a tornvagn. So for a newer player looking to try their hand in a hull down tank that is easy to play and not the tornvagn this is actually not a bad choice! Also today is day TWENTY ONE asking for Charlemagne:)

This is my go to for credit making. This and Iron Arnie make me the most credits. Plenty of bad games but ive had crazy carries with 4k blocked 4k dmg. If im having a bad rng day then i play this and it makes up the difference from losses. Even with a loss and nearly no dmg it makes credits.

I actually do pretty decent with this tank. Only thing is you have to sacrifice gun handling for mobility or vice-versa, you can’t have both.

I playing blitz.. Still I keep running into Tds like this.. frontal armor and small lower plate drives me nuts.. It is teaching me to use He* sigh..😊

I love the tank. I have my highest hp/battle in it. Always go to the heavy line. Hit the battle pass limit so I am not able to play it now. That makes me very sad.

Gunhandling was so frustrating and for every 120mm+ gun it's easy pen. On top of that I think it's very boring to play with. Traded it for kpz 07 and never regret it.

I can't make myself like this vehicle when it is so vulnerable to HEAT rounds. The top of the turret is so easily penned if you can't hide it perfectly, even by lackluster HEAT rounds. Conversely, this tank can become such a pain to deal with if you don't have heat. I just feel like it can be so frustrating to play AND go against, so I'm not a fan.

Its a pretty strong tank. Gun is derpy, armor bit unreliable and standard pen is in the heavy tank range. Nothing is really bad about it. Its not a tank for everyone.

Rarely seen a premium tier 8 that went "extinct" on the battle field so soon after its introduction to the game. I mean, I can't remember having seen a Vipera on the battle field the last couple of months.

For a shitload of real money I wouldn't, but if Vipera was the reward in the additional chapter instead of the 56tp I'd be no-life-grinding it right now. I kinda like the Italian tds, not gonna lie.

I have Vipera from the loot boxes and I have to say I hate the gun handling, it's really unreliable, shooting gold can help but still the gun handling won't feel decent at times. Also, speed is a problem because of these turbo games nowadays so you should keep that mind as well. On a side note, I've never played any other Italian tds so I cannot compare Vipera to them.

My biggest complaint is that every new premium has a shit gun handling that is balanced by having shit ton of gun depression and armor, war gaming is having a crisis on how to balance a tank, but thats theur fault fir making most of the maps a corridor map saddly.

I don't think the Vipera is overrated.. I have yet to find any1 who rate it very highly.. I bought the tank when it came out, but honestly - it's just collecting dust in the garage.. However I wouldn't recommend the TS-5 either tbh, but that may just be a playstyle issue.

think that makes me hate svipera is the 6 round autolader, i do so much better in the TT tier 8 counterpart to this tank, it is in my opinion a way better tank.

Top Gear top tip - avoid :D I hate that gun so much. and TD without gun is more sad than tourist without stamps (both IRL in travel diary or in WoT on their tank from enemy team)

My recommendation to fellow baboons, I got this in loot box and it is very good at that price. I would be sad to pay full price, if you have a 30% coupon and it is for sale it would be an ok deal... not great but I would be happy at that price. Over all I would say it is a very solid 3/5 star TD for MY play style, do not snipe with it.... play it like an assault TD, go in front until you are a 2 shot, fall back and finish out doing as much damage as you can with what is left.

At first I loved it. Then people learned about the turret roof. The gun is abysmally bad and you have no business for tier 9s and 10s usually.

Don't have it myself but having fought against it in everything from tier 6 to 10, it seems like a one-trick pony. Hull down, life is blyatiful and you are booming. Any other time... you'd rather kaku in the hands and clap.

Armor is bonkers till you meet Tier 10s or 122mm or higher guns, requires you to play hull down yet has limited gun depression which makes playing ridgelines uncomfortable, slow, has annoyingly bad gun handling, limited turret, bad penetration values for a TD (Ik it's a Heavy Tank basically) Can I have my money back WarGaming?!

One of my favourite tanks. Can´t understand why people call it boring, always play it like rambo and push with it when not low tier and it works.

I think there is no place for turbo due to the shitty gun handling… Improved aiming unit imho is better, since you are still slow and turn in a decade even using turbo

the SMV is much more flexible... but honestly, that tank just feels like a big bitch. This tank is objectively fairly mediocre, but when it works it's brutal. these days, niche > jack of all trades for the entertainment value.

I can see why some people would like this tank, but it's not for me. The gun just trolls too hard, and the mobility feels painful to me.

I think it's an average tank for a kind of average player. For good players, like you, who has map awareness and good aim, this tank is very slow and not reliable

Yes, not awesome gun but at close distance not so horible. You played bad at El Haluf, missed first two chances for damage etc..probably busy talking but after team just melted. I dislike low speed and poor turning.
