Passing of Don W. brought back memories of 1965 in Japan. The Ventures inspired a countless hour of learning their licks by ear on acoustic guitar at my preteen year. Their creations are and always will be in my soul.
Even it's already 2021,i still love to listen to the legendary song....

I was in the navy in japan in the late 60s and the japanese people were so different it blew my mind. they were so much in love with americans, it was funny to feel so at home in such a bizzare culture. Always a good time and they are so polite and shy and nice. this music takes me back there.

What a live band this was.. I remember my father playd their Bumblebee Twist and I was absolutely stunned.. and still is 55 year later.. 😉🙏
Juntos nos hicimos viejos tanto radio escuchas como los Ventures, unos ya no están y Wilson esta a Dios gracias acompañandonos a los sobrevivientes de aquella bella época inolvidable.
Nokie Edwards the best lead guitarist. Mel Tayloy the best drummer so far.

Spannende live Aufführung dieser fantastischen Meisterstücke im rhythmischen Tempo mit perfekt synchronisierten Tönen aller Instrumente. Der Trommler ist besonders ausgezeichnet. Echt super!

These guys inspired me to learn to play guitar in the mid 1960s (along with The Beatles). My guitar in those days was a blue Ventures model Mosrite. Hard times took it from me, but after retiring I bought a sunburst version of the same guitar. Amazing band and out of this world guitar! Still listening in 2020.

I bet Mark Knopfler was listening as well - and so many others - What a legacy to rock and the guitar that really kicks ass!

They were without doubt the very best instrumental group ever, with possibly the greatest drummer ever being Mel Taylor

I like the first song very much. It is kinda negative, written in minor. I like ambiental stuff. The drummer is enjoying the life he has. He has so much power in his left hand. Nice!

You didn't finish the whole 9.35 minutes. There is more than one song on here.
when the Ventures were just hittin' the big time. all the teenage garage bands had to learn their tunes....yeah, I was in one of 'em.......we also wanted to play enough gigs to afford those great MOSRITE guitars!

Then why is it in stereo with no mics in front of the amps? the lead is on the left the drums are in the middle and the bass is on the right. It's all fake, clearly the sound is dubbed on The ventures never sound like this live. check my "The Ventures The Shadows comparison"
