I miss Bea... When I was no more than five 5, over 20 years ago on the other side of the world from USA, I'd curl up with my grandma, and we wold watch the Golden Girls together. My grandma is still with me, getting near Sofia's age from the show, with some health issues that come with age. I hope we have many, many years to spend together, and cherish our moments, laughing over the legendary scenes from our favorite show. Thank you grandma! I love you

I live in Macedonia now, but originally I am from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Last year I lost my beloved grandmother at the age of 85. A year has passed, and not a single day goes by I don’t think of her. I just miss her and love her so much. The comment I posted 5 years ago is a painful reminder she is gone.

Nina Horvátország and where are you from?
@GldDst13 жыл бұрын
Nina Horvátország I am so, so sorry to hear that. My honest condolences. Do you speak Serbo-Croatian? I do, it’s my native language. I also lived in Rijeka, Croatia, and in Novi Sad, Serbia too.

Nina Horvátország My grandma lost her battle with breast cancer. :’( She was the oldest member of my family. My parents divorced when I was 1 year old, so I was raised by my mom and grandma. She was a parental figure in my life, not “just a grandma. 2 years prior to her death, I lost my cousin, who was more like a baby brother to me, as we lived and grew up with together since the day they brought him from the hospital as a newborn baby. I lost him at only 23 to a very rate type of brain tumor. He was the youngest member of my gamily. The pain never goes away. You just learn how to live with it. Time has passed, and I laugh, socialize, work and function as I used to before, but my heart breaks every time I think of them. Even if I try avoiding thinking of them that often, they are still in my dreams. Once again, I am terribly sorry for your loss, from the bottom of my heart. I know how it feels like.

Nina Horvátország North Macedonia. To be honest, I try to stay away from such political issues. With so much more important things to better people’s lives, politics is hiding serious issues behind trivial things, as geographic names. Too bad the people are buying it.

Aside from the fact that she was a great actor, what made me love her was that she was a BIG fan of MOTOGP motorcycle road racing. I remember seeing her on the tonight show once when Johnny asked her what sports she liked and she answered Motorcycle Grand Prix Racing and that her son was best friends with the at-the-time world champion, Eddie Lawson...that was good enough for me. I got to meet her once and talked to her about it and she was so nice. RIP

Bea did so good being over 80 and battling cancer...she was very brave and I'll always admire her for that. And WOW--how in the world does Adrienne Barbeau stay so gorgeous after all these years? She's hardly aged at all! Thank you for posting this precious clip! :)

I've been such a fan of Bea, particularly of the Maude period. That voice, so straight to the point and sharp! That day I was waiting to meet her outside "The View" studios with some other autograph hunters, I remember that just before she came out through the front door, a man warned us saying: Just be easy with her, she is very sick. When she appeared, I asked her for her autograph and I told her: So glad that "Maude" has finally been released. She responded: Grrrrrreat!.....that was Bea.

It doesn't matter how old the Maude show is, the fact is that well written comedy is timeless, and that show is DEFINITELY timeless as well as the other Norman Leer shows, Good Times, All In The Family, The Jeffersons. All of these shows are prime examples of how superb writing and great acting go hand in hand. WE ALL MISS YOU BEA Thanks for making us laugh thru the years. :)

Ms. Arthur.........remembering many, many laughs. From Yenta the Matchmaker, to Vera Charles, friend of Mame, to Maude who there are no words for, to Dorothy, who with Sophia, Blanche and Rose, made me, us I hope, laugh for 7 years, but in totality, Ms Arthur, over 40 years of humor from 'Fiddler' to 'Golden Girls'! As Yenta said......"Do I suffer, yes I suffer, but I suffer in silence"...and Ms Arhtur made much of that suffering a little less and made me laugh a little more! Shalom!

Did you notice how Bea snubbed Hasselback? The camera kept flashing to the audience but essentially Bea came out and hugged Rosie who was so controlling getting Bea into her seat. Bea barely had time to acknowledged the others. Guest co-host and Broadway legend Audra McDonald said nothing the entire time. Strange.

Gee this was almost "hi" then "goodbye" with the amount of time taken. The one thing I hated about Maude being broadcast in Australia is the channel would edit up to two minutes per episode to fit commercials in. Thankfully the DVD means we can watch those episodes in their entirety.
