Rosie O'Donnell is the best thing that ever happened to The View.

That show was so awesome when Rosie was there.

Rosie was ratings gold. The View had the highest ratings ever, while she was there. The sad thing was, is her relationship with a lot of the staff and eventually Barbara, soured. Ladies Who Punch basically said that it was Barbara and Bill, or Rosie. It is a big shame Rosie's second appearance didn't work out either.

The realest hosts like Rosie and Rosie don't stay long. It's hard to be an authentic person who speaks up for human beings in a world where most people don't, regardless of tone of voice. When people focus so much on your delivery, it's more that they don't like WHAT you're saying.

Rosie is loved and missed. I must keep writing to protect her name from the Fox 'news' trolls on this site. For every one fox 'news' Elizabeth fan, you have at least a dozen adoring fans.

She left the view 10 years ago and yet there are still people commenting glad you got fired?? Wtf internet do you people have no lifes?

That's because this speech was before the big blow up with Hesselbeck. She announced she wasn't going to be coming back for the following season a good while before she had the big blow up with Hesselbeck. She still had a few more weeks left in the season to appear on the show at the time she had the blow up with Hesselbeck but did not ever return after that day.

"The View" has never been the same since Rosie left. Also, Rosie was foolish to leave "The View". The ratings were through the roof and Rosie was in the news everyday. She was unpredictable on "The View". The shows producers probably didn't like that about her but hey she brought viewership to a show that was not doing that great prior to Rosie. It was doing just OK. Rosie brought "The View" up in the rating and conversation in general. Whoopie is good but she is no Rosie.

Yes, Rosie is harsh and opinionated. But I found her very interesting.

It used to be more uplifting at one time. Actually before Rosie came along, the show wasn't always 'sparring' like it is now. I don't think Rosie intended to be that way on the show, it was a combination of Hesselbeck always ruffling her feathers with an extremely posing view. After Rosie left the show they continued with this platform by bringing in the equally outspoken Whoopi Goldberg and they've kept that format since.

And I kind of wonder if they aren't going to try go back to that format. Joy Behar announced she is leaving and there are very heavy rumors that Hesselbeck is not having her contract renewed. They may be looking to bring in more toned down personalities to fill those ladies spots.

Rosie is awesome

The only reason why I quit watching the View was right after Rosie left the show. When I did watch the View after Rosie left, I actually found the show really lacked comic relief!

This show has never produced the kind of uplifting, informative platform that I for one had hoped for. Took me one or two shows to say, nope - not for me. Just to watch some narrow minded women fight, talk over each other, and behave like toddlers at recess.

Barbara Walters is a thin-skinned hypocrite. She can't take any kind of criticism whatsoever & even when simple, truthful, generic comments are made, she inflates them into personal attacks. Then, she'll defensively turn on you, making ridiculous, petty remarks. For someone so old & established she's very immature & insecure. The view would be better w/o Babs. They should bring back Meredith & Rosie. Then it would be worth watching again.

buncha bunk...rosie was a very poor choice from the start...like an oprah...she has to rule the roost...but she did not need to take a seat at the view table for anyone to come to that conclusion....clearly recall her year at the table joy & liz were miserable and rosie needed to fnt cntr n lead every segement..but she was going through something at the time and what ever that something was she was not in a good head space and was very bitter & angry....she nvr returned after her on air melt down with hassalbeck....and then made the rounds bad mouthing walters....n what does abc do???...bring her back only for her to do the exact same thing.....get pissed because she cld not intimidate whoopi the way she intimidated joy n liz...
