Speaking as a retiring IT professional, the days of needing to pay attention to cable/phone drops are over, and you would be better off running network cabling (if/where possible needed). Most people no longer have a landline phone, so no need for phone drops AND most new streaming services will include a set-top box connecting either wireless (WIFI) or ethernet. Really surprised that builders even still run phone/cable drops. Lovely home, btw :)

Thanks! We are actually streaming Spectrum and the house doesn’t have phone jacks. Things are certainly changing.😄

Builder put 2 CAT5 lines that start in the garage and end above kitchen cabinets and living room ceiling. I planned to hard wire to each room, but decided to just put the router in BR2 so I could hard wire the work 'puters and we wifi to everything else. Wifi calling helps when you only get one bar of cell service. We have land line phone connections in each room and I thought we might use them for hard wiring - but the wifi works fine.

Hi Rusty we were lucky to have won a lottery for a parcel of land and we are building a designer home on a lake in Eastport and couldn't be more excited! Breaking ground end of May and 3 months later s/b ready to close...you should come by and follow the progress. Gonna be super exciting watching it grow into a home
