Thank you for the awesome video! Saluki rec center will be our closest rec center. You even showed us our new house right across the pond from the center. (We haven’t even seen it yet! ) We leave California tomorrow to drive across the country to the villages and pick up our keys next week. We’re so excited! We drove across country from Calif to The Villages in Nov 2022 (I10 the whole way). We didn’t have a home yet, but found it 3 days later. We live in DeLuna, which is about 25 minutes by cart from Saluki Rec so we went to the grand opening yesterday in the later morning. You’ll love it! Safe travels and best of luck with your new home. My wife and I are building in the cottage neighborhood that will be right behind the Shadybrook postal station and recreation center. That building that you thought was a rec center in Eastport was the medical offices in Eastport. The next one is the new golf cart dealership. Thanks for the video Michael, its nice to keep up with what is happening from Tennessee.

With all the building and people moving in , there needs to be more hospitals, doctors' offices, etccc. So, the citizens don't have far to travel. We have a SIU here and there's one in Southern Illinois ( 3 hrs away ) . Southern Illinois University.

That building that Michael thouht was a rec center nearing completion in the front of the Eastport town center, will be a new medical office building with multiple disciplines represented.

Thank you for showing me around the Saluki center, it’s an adorable theme and a beautiful space. I can totally relate with you on getting another dog. We lost our boy he was 15 1/2 years. Miniature Pinscher named Lance ( Sir Lancelot). We miss him dearly. Hi 👋🏻 to Tiffany. Great Video

Thanks for posting! Yeah, the amount of construction going on in TV is massive. When you go south across that Bexley Bridge and see construction literally as far as you can see...wow! I did have a question for you though. Since you guys live closer to Franklin Rec, is it worth it to head all the way out to Saluki? Aren't they all generally the same? You mentioned that you used to go to Fenney a lot, which got me thinking why people would travel to a different rec center. Either way, we will find out soon enough - we sold our old house this weekend, so we'll be doing the final move-in to our home in Dabney much sooner than expected. Looking forward to spending more time down there soon!

All of the rec center are themed differently and have different vibes. It’s fun to just go check out the different themes and decor. While all rec center do share some of the same basic amenities they do have differences and a unique charm. Excited for y’all to move here to TV and start exploring. Keep us posted! Thanks!

We were just there for our fourth visit. We took the tour to the Street of Dreams and were told it will be about 2 years for EastPort to be finished they have enough land to build for 10 to 12 more years. We will be moving in 2026!

I really enjoyed watching Michael video on Street of Dreams. Where I live, we have a lot of activities like the Villagers have and we have bike trails all over the place, new trails are being built all the time. Four Cities each have their own gyms ( 2 each ) for each cities , over 400 activities years round for ALL AGES from 6 months - 100+ years old .

Tiffany says hello and thanks for asking! 😊 She had a lot of meetings yesterday. We are not retired and both work from home and travel for our careers. I work for myself which allows me a little more flexibility to go do things like this during the work week. But the awesome thing about living at TV is there is always something to see and do whenever we are off work or have some free time. She did make a cameo appearance in this video! Hey Michael, great video!! Thanks for sharing with us all! Question (and it may sound cold - don’t mean it to): seems like a good amount of recreation centers and pools and places are geared more toward families vs. 55+ only. Do you know if this is something The Villages is doing intentionally to head more toward that family-oriented style? Thanks for any help you can provide on that. Enjoy your time in TV for me and hopefully we’ll be there in around eight years (man…sounds like forever). ❤❤

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video! Great question. Not totally sure but will do more research, ask folks who work for TV and cover that topic in a future video. My best guess is changing demographics and offering more amenities and activities that appeal to Gen X (our generation) and to also make it more appealing to get kids and grandkids to want and come visit parents/grandparents here at TV. We love it when our 26 year old comes to visit!

Awesomeness! Glad you are enjoying them. It is not that long and an enjoyable ride to Sawgrass and to Eastport areas and not that bad even to Brownwood. The new path makes it so much easier and fun to get to Magnolia and Fenney too. It is however a very long ride up to Lake Sumter and Spanish Springs. Will document and share times in future videos. Awesomeness! Small world. We were just back in Charlotte/Matthews/Mint Hill a couple of weeks ago. South and East Charlotte is where we lived for 17 years and raised our family. Raleigh/Cary area before that and then Greenville and Clemson, SC before that. Go Tigers! 🐅 The Carolinas will always be home in our ❤️. When are you moving to TV? We may have to start a Charlotte or a NC club or a Carolinas club for both NC & SC. Or maybe a Southern Villagers from the South club! Have an awesome weekend! Thanks!

Should put in gambling machines for revenue in all centers, and dog pictures of residents dogs, they pay to put up on walls, like having benches along pathways, not sure if against Villages laws, cause problems, resentments with so many people living in THE VILLAGES. Yes, you will probably get lost at first but don’t worry about it or let it keep you from getting out and exploring TV. You will learn the landmarks and which way to turn exiting tunnels pretty quickly. If you get lost just pull over to a safe spot off the path and another awesome Villager on a golf cart will be by soon to ask if everything is okay or if you need help with directions. Sometimes getting lost here at TV leads to some fun and unexpected awesome adventures! You can do it! Thanks!

Is it a challenge to put your new Evolution golf cart in your golf cart garage? I have a similar Emerald model villa and was looking into new golf carts, but was concerned about the dimensions of that golf cart.

Yes and no. You have to park it straight in and have both front tires touch the wall for the garage door to close with only about a half inch of clearance. I put a piece of cardboard on my wall and pull in slowly and make sure they both touch before closing the door. Very easy to get the hang of it once you do it a couple of times. Will share how I park in our full review video in the next two weeks. FYI… the 2+2 is actually longer than our 4 forward. Thanks!

I asked that day and they said that they only allow registered service dogs inside Saluki. No dog park at that location but I bet they will be building new ones in that area at some point. Hopefully soon. Thanks!

No, we do not live near Moultrie Creek. The new cart path runs parallel to Marsh Bend Trail. There is a cart tunnel underneath Warm Springs Ave to Magnolia. Hope that helps!

Yes and no. All Villagers pay a small monthly amenity fee that includes so many awesome things like… The use all of the rec centers and amenities inside and outside, all the pools and regular golf (executive, pitch and putt and putting courses). There are additional fees if you want to join the full workout gyms in the Regional Rec centers or play the championship golf courses or join the Country Club pools. They have so many free classes like line dancing, etc. but they also have special Enrichment Academy classes for an additional fee. Will do a video on this in the future.
